Just have one question about the ending:
Is there an explanation for how Zelda survived 100 years in the game? Just give me a yes/no answer.
No.

Is there a way to craft arrows?[...]
No.

Any hints on how to reach this chest?

Shrine in Lanayru with rising water. It's right in the end room. I figure you need to use the barrel as a platform but you can't even get into the room if you take it off the button.

You need a rune to get it.

I used stasis on the switch that opens the gate to that area and the magnet to hit the switch that turns the water back on with the barrel.

That's amazing, I used cryonis to make a path to the switch and planted a bomb there to detonate at the end when facing the chest.

It's so cool how many solutions there are.

Wow. I can't believe how quickly time flies while I'm playing this bad boy. Hours just melt away!

Absolutely loving that the puzzles are engine based all the way and there's multiple ways to do everything.

I can't get over how awesome everything is but I'm the type of player that likes to see everything and I know for certain that's not going to happen with this game, I doubt it's possible to see everything.

My biggest problem is that there is so much space and it's SO big that it takes forever to get from one place to another and running around is my pet peeve in open world games but they've made the world so interesting I'm constantly seeing things to do and getting side tracked so it takes even longer to get where I'm going!

I really need to start focussing on the main quests.

Can anyone tell me if there are any significant rewards to side quests? I expect they're all just rupees and cool weapons and stuff.

Chuck a bomb at the switch and get to that same point. Use bomb.

Why are my miiverse screenshots on WiiU 450p?
Is there a better way to take screenshots?
edit: nevermind I remembered.

Hint:
If only there were a way to make that barrel stay on the button.

Solution:
Use an ice block to get on the platform with the laser, lower the water, stasis the barrel, raise the water, glide across the gap into the gated area.

Been playing it on my Wii U and have been loving it. Looks amazing and I really have not noticed much slowdown....yet. My only issue so far is that I think jump and run are awkwardly placed. Like past Nintendo games with run it should be beside the jump button, not above or below it.

Also, I have played the Switch version and I really don't think there is a stark difference and any difference that is I think you get over pretty quickly especially if you are playing the Wii U version on your TV.

Holy shit you can
use stasis on the switch
. This is a game changer.

Lmao the chest was a Giant Boomerang. Such a complex puzzle for such a shit reward.

Annnd a third different solution. I love this!

Is it just me or does increasing your climbing speed also increase the rate at which your stamina drains, meaning you won't actually be able to reach greater heights just by increasing your speed?

It drains proportional to how much you have climbed up and the steepness of the climb. So climb speed does nothing to change how much stamina you need to spend on climbing certain heights. It just speeds up your climb.

Any place I can get unlimited sledgehammers? Fuck this shrine.

Are you at
Mirro Shaz
? If so, I agree. That shrine is the only one so far I legitimately do not like.
I did the first part with the sledgehammer and the second with a combination of sledgehammer and sword.

Wow, Kakariko Village is so charming! It's like walking into a humble little countryside town! And the best part? Tamed my very first horse right outside the village! Sniped a Bokoblin right off her back; apparently she was relieved, because she didn't put up any fight. Because I'm a goofy name giver, I named her Britches, on account of her white back legs.

People saying you need a rune? Fuck that! This is Breath of the Wild!

with the water lowered stand near the ledge you climbed to get to the end of the shrine and shoot a bomb arrow where you think the trigger is. You won't see the trigger and you won't hit it directly, but the splash damage from the bomb arrow should be activate it and raise the water, giving you enough time to run through the gate.

Alternatively, use Cryosis to leap over to the trigger itself and drop a remote bomb. Then just go to the end of the shrine normally and detonate it.

I spent like 2 and a half hours just climbing mountains and also just roaming around the Gerudo Highlands. Game rules! Really need to get to a dungeon though. Also fought one of the random mini bosses in the wild.

You can also just place a bomb next you it and stroll into the room with the chest all leisurely.

Just beat my first dungeon, the
elephant
.

That was awesome! Sure, the dungeons aren't huge, but that one took some serious thinking at a few points. Only downside was that I found Waterblight to be very easy. But this definitely makes me excited for the rest of them.

I sorta wish I had it on wii u instead so I could use the miiverse and share/look at things. Switch has absolutely nothing

Grinding shrines is rough. I have beaten close to sixty and I'm starting to find them crammed in little holes and caves instead of having a place in the natural environment

Hah, my solution was more convoluted. I used Cryonis to get out to the switch platform and left a remote bomb next to it (behind the fence so that the sweeping laser didn't blow it up). Then when I got to the ladder I detonated it so the water would raise back up.

I'm stuck. Please help.
Doing Vah Ruta right now, got all terminals except one, and have no clue how to approach it. It's the one in smaller cog that spins, and terminal goes underwater. How?.

You can use Cryonis on the water that's jetting out, moving the cog wheel.

Question for those coming from a PS4 and playing this on a Switch in docked mode, on a HDTV (42"+), how bad are the jaggies/shimmering in this game? Do they take up like 30% of the screen? 80%?

I feel like there's some anti aliasing going in docked mode because it's noticeably less jaggy than on the Switch screen. Looks pretty decent tbh.

You need to use stasis on the switch to keep it depressed then fill the room up and make your way back. When the room is filled you can use cryo to build a platform to make your way up

Are there any ores I should make sure to hold onto or avoid selling? Trying to raise 3,000 for.... stuff.

I just sold nearly all of mine to buy armor and stuff.

I think you'll need all of them sooner or later, so some extra farming is something i planned for later.

Played a whole lot yesterday, got some decent progress in.

Got the elephant tamed and pretty much all of Zora's Domain done. Started Shrine hunting for 13 hearts. Went through the Lost Woods. Picked up the sharpest butter knife in the drawer.

Honestly, the Master Sword seems a little... disappointing. I had expected damage in the 40-50 range. But it does have that thing with doing bonus damage to... something. I'm thinking if it's a boss with Ganon in the name, it's Master Sword time. It's neat that you can shoot your sword with power if you have full health, though. You can't throw it, but you can throw energy discs!

So, next up... Goron or Gerudo? Either way, I should look into heat resistance.

This has jumped straight into contention for my personal best games of all time list. I'm just constantly impressed. Absolutely incredible.

All ore can be used but the game is generous giving you them once you have certain tools. Sell away and when the ore is needed use said tools to find them.

Annnd a third different solution. I love this!

I set up three cryonis platforms between the the turn lever thing and the gate, activated the spinning laser, then made a mad dash across the platforms, shot an arrow at the switch from the 3rd platform and made it through the second gate before the laser made it to the switch. It was cool as hell.
