it's a shame that they were not able to cenceal better the behind the scenes trick they had to use to make this run on wii U,like when an entire bull disappears in front of you because the game thinks you are not watching anymore...or how stuff just respawns in place after you move it.

I assume these same instances occur on the Switch?

That's the only flaw I really have with this game. Some of the sacrifices made to achieve the world are a bit too much, such as this. It hurts to be hunting an animal only for it to vanish or teleport to another location mid hunt. The frame rate, while easy to overlook, is actually very problematic to me during intense gameplay moments.

I'm really hoping for a Pro version of the Switch in 2018 to get a solid, fully realized BotW experience. Maybe it will include all new story DLC, something to suck us back in again.

OK, coming up on my second Beast

how does 'end game' work? can you finish the story and then keep playing/doing shrines/etc?

After you beat the final boss you're placed directly outside the room you fight in and can continue your game with some bonuses. Your save file will have a star on it.

I'll spoiler tag this just in case. I'm still within the first 25 hours though.

Is there some secret to finding the locations of the pictures to unlock your memories? I don't want any spoilers but it seems kinda crazy to try and wander the entire map until you stumble upon it. I only have the first one that was hinted to me (the archway along the bridge in front of a mountain).

The painter you meet outside Impa's house can be found at many of the stables around Hyrule. He can offer hints.

So I just ran into a locked memento without even meaning too. lol. I saw the divine
beast on that volcano
... holy shit!

So my first horse just killed itself. I used him to hurdle me over some spikes that were surrounding the temple. After the successful hurdle, my horse tried to run through the spikes and got hurt. But he remained persistent and over and over again tried to get through the spikes. A minute after relentlessly throwing himself against the spikes, he keeled over and passed away. RIP "Primero"

Are you talking about the weapon or the requirement

Been hearing so much different information about unbreakable/repairable weapons in general, would be nice if there was a faq on the op or something

The weapon. The requirement
will also go down if you collect more memories I've heard. As for unbreakable/repairing weapons, the master sword is the only weapon that doesn't break in the game but in return it has a cool-down mechanic where you can't use it for a while after some use. There is no repairing whatsoever but you can revive the weapons the champions give you.

Find the painter that yu met in Kakariko, he is in every inn/stable and will tell you a hint where to find the closed memory you can from his location.

Fun times with amiibo

The Hero of Time has returned!

It took me like 45 minutes of reloading to get the shirt and Epona (they were the only two pieces I needed)

Is the Hero's clothing locked behind Amiibo?

I'll give you the hot tip: follow the main roads in the game when you tire from mountain hopping to find stables. Someone at these stables (and some towns) might hold some clues.

If only there was some type of divine being who could resurrect your horse. And if such a thing existed, what would you call it?

Is the one I did your fav or least fav or in the middle? Disappointed about length. Really fun tho
Puzzle wise it was the best, since I actually got stuck for a good 10-15 minutes (didn't notice a thing), which reminded me of older Zeldas. The other 2
Salamander? and the Bird
felt even shorter, but that might be because they were so easy.

After googling about that
pretty much every source says the memory thing is wrong, I guess you absolutely need 13 hearts at least for that part(randomly saw it on my instagram feed lmfao). I already have a champion weapon but I always heard about combining two of them to get an unbreakable one, I guess this is confirmed wrong. What about weapons that regenerate durability? Aren't there some of them in hyrule castle or something?

Yeah, I didn't research that one at all.
As for durability regeneration, never heard of it and it wouldn't make much sense with the system they have in place anyway. The weapons in Hyrule Castle are normal breakable weapons.

Does anyone have the same experience that fighting black moblins = terrible frame rate? I notice that every time I fight them the frame rate drops miserably, on both WiiU and NS version, and didn't happen with other enemies.

Now that I'm back to playing on weekdays and next weekend I'm not playing as obsessively. Maybe 2-3 hours a day.

I essentially explore a new area and get the shrines, explore the town and stable and see if there are any quick quests I can do.

I'm leaving the final two story areas for last. I think I have 3 areas to explore left before I get to the ones where the story shit is.

This game will easily last me until Mass Effect comes out.

Still early on (only 5 hearts for health). Are folks only focusing on getting more heart containers at the early stages or is anyone going for Stamina?

Most Zelda games it's all about getting more hearts, but I can see getting more stamina super helpful in this game.

i have done stamina twice. i figured stamina would open up more of the game for me, while hearts would just make me lazier in fights.

Spend to get at least one quarter of stamina vessel, pour the rest of your efforts into heart containers until you reach the requirement. The slight boost is more helpful than one would imagine.

You need 13 hearts for an optional, but key item. So I went for hearts. Although now that I have 13 im going for all stamina! 13 seems like plenty for me.

I've used three Orbs toward Stamina and none toward Hearts so far. It's made a LOT of things easier:

hunting
gathering
climbing
swimming
any combination of two or more of those things

like if I see a Rushroom on a cliff I'm just gonna go grab it because I can

Way more useful than Hearts and for now I can just eat Defense food and potions to make up for it
Armored carp and shit aren't too hard to find

Wow, Lanayru Mountain is like a religious experience. Really magical sequence, gave me some Valak Mountain vibes from Xenoblade. It's a really beautiful location at night time in particular.

Finally put on the soundtrack and man the Main Theme is as glorious as ever ;_;

That opening piano is just...lkjasdlkajdflkajsfldkfjldkaf

Thunderblight Ganon
is whooping my ass.
Only have 4 hearts at the moment so everything is a one-shot. Should I just come back later when I'm better equipped and have more hearts? Or is there a trick I'm missing?

Two major combat shrines back to back. Holy crap, what am I going to do with all these Guardian weapons.

Maybe I should raid Hyrule castle.

Ok, desert dungeon boss again,
what the hell do you do when he bombards you with a lightning flurry at the end? I just keep dropping all my gear and getting shredded. Blocking isn't working here either.

Post-game is so much fun.

Tips for those still playing:

1. I really suggest you get the Master Sword asap
2. Also, complete at least the Zora and Rito dungeons as the rewards will really benefit your exploration of Hyrule
3. Make sure to train several horses. Don't just stick to the first dopey one that the game makes you catch. Train some advanced ones. This will make sense later and you'll thank me for it.

Lastly, I really suggest looking up some guides online as to where you can find all the armor. Some of the armor is so easily missed and it makes such a difference!

You meet the same guy, the painter, several times
