Also managed to best a Major Test of Strength Shrine despite having like five hearts and mostly meh equipment by stunlocking the guardian with a frost spear and thunder arrows. Feels good.

But this mission has you have to be on top of the shrine portal with a certain outfit during a Blood Moon. It doesn't make sense
I'm not sure then. Couldn't you fast-travel to the shrine when the Blood Moon begins? I haven't found this quest yet, so I don't have any idea what I'm talking about.

This happens to be the one I ordered... That rules.
There's an NPC at the Dueling Peaks stable that will let you know if a blood moon is coming, just rest until night until he says he's got a feeling about tonight.

Haha I try :P

Did it work out for you / did the steps make sense?

I'm going to try it when I get home, but just having a starting point is amazing.

After playing this game for at least 30 hours I think it's amazing that there's only a single thing about it that I didn't like. When will people stop putting
stealth sections
in
non-stealth
games? Stupid
little Korok jerk.

Item durability is so frustrating. I wish it wasn't in the game or at least an option for those who would want it. It fosters a fear of using a rare and valuable item in case it breaks and it doesn't take much for it to break. Bokoblin Clubs are a dime a dozen but Fire Blades and what have you aren't easy to come by. I feel it's counter intuitive when people ae resorting to not using anythng valuable that they have picked up.

Damn, catching dragonflies is the hardest thing to do here lol. I need all three kinds for the sidequest and I can't catch the last one, no matter how hard I sneak.

There is like a one minute lead to the Blood Moon happening, it's fairly obvious it's about to occur. You start seeing red/black swirls on the ground and the sky starts changing color. As soon as you see that you just open up the menu, change clothes, and fast travel to the shrine.

You have to let go of your inhibitions and use everything. Even that super rare powerful weapon is intended to be disposable. Let it go. Once you free yourself of the notion that you have to save things, the game becomes very improvisational and spontaneous. You always have to use what you've collected, whether it is ideal or not.

Dont spam attacks with your elemental weapons. Their attack power sucks. Apply the element and then switch to a weapon that actually does damage.

Edit: even if you dont have a stronger weapon, the value from the elemental ones comes from them stoping the enemy for several seconds when the element is applied. They also can 1hko certain enemies.

you'll find so much weapon later that you will use them and wish they break, if you really wish to keep some weapons
Buy the house in hateno village, you will have the possibility to buy stand to store weapons (3 max), keep your most powerfull weapon there

Wow the prices on the all the Link amiibos actually shot up in price over the past day. Was able to do a in-store pick up for both Smash and Ocarina Link a day or two ago. Should have done it.

Hope the prices eventually fall down.

I get that but from a gameplay perspective I want to use whatever I've found for as long as I want. There have been plenty of fun items I've found, like the Fire Rod for instance. Having that break after a few uses is so frustrating because I don't want to be dictated how long I should use something for if I'm getting enjoyment from using it.

This, also I use elemental weapons against enemies of the opposite type. Ex.) fire against ice enemies simply destroys them, lightning is great against enemies in water and disarming enemies.

Completing the Gerudo Desert chunk of the game reveals some interesting lore tidbits, courtesy of
Urbosa.

One,
it's legend at this point that Ganon was once a Gerudo. Legend enough that the Gerudo are aware of it, anyway. Urbosa herself isn't a fan of the guy already, but she considers that icing on the cake.

Two,
Urbosa affirms that Divine Beast Vah Naboris is named after Nabooru from Ocarina of TIme. This confirmed my suspicion that the other beasts were named after other key characters in the Zelda series: Vah Rudania after Darunia in OoT, Vah Ruta after Princess Ruto, and Vah Medoh after Medli from WW.

Medli doesnt make sense, isnt this the MM timeline?

I dunno about you, but I'm going to display the 3 elemental "Great blades" I found during my early scouting mission of
Hyrule Castle
in my house in Hateno Village lol.

EDIT: Oh, speaking of Hateno Village, does anything happen if you light up all the lanterns?

So not trying to be spoiled here but, does this game have multiple endings, and if so, how do you execute the 'best' one? Right now I have all the main quest done aside 'beat ganon', but am still working on shrines and such. I guess i'm more so wondering if I can do that now and then do other stuff later, or if I should be holding off to get an ideal ending.

I plan to still focus on side quest/shrines for a couple days either way, but figured I should see.

Also on the side, Impa has one of those glowy balls near her, is there never a time where I can actually take it?

Last question, does every town have some significant event for beating all the side quest, or just some?

Ughhhhhh. This graph means I need all of the other Zelda Amiibo. I'm such a sheep. This sucks.

But I do love them so much.

At least I only need one toon link!

Yeeeeeeah I went from having zero Zelda related Amiibo to only needing four to complete the whole damn set.

Probably never find a reasonably priced Sheik though. :(

Any idea where i can find lots of swift violet? I can find them but they're very rare, even with the radar it's pretty painful to find them (always on a cliff side)

i need 45 of them, it takes so much time!

Nothing. They are there to act as chekpoints in case it starts raining.

Hmm, I've been holding off doing the main quest in favour of exploring the world.

Follow up question, since there is only one save, does the game auto save after beating the game? I want to go straight to Ganon now, not save after beating him, go back and finish exploring/doing quest and try Ganon again after being powered up to end my playthrough.

Traditional puzzle solving won't be the same after this game. Physics is the future of Zelda.

There are some really good non physics based puzzles in this game. One of the shrines I've done is basically a traditional Zelda mini dungeon that makes no use of physics.

You could find the most obscure fucking place in the entire world and rest assured you would hear that accordian

Kass is the best. I hope he becomes a series regular.

I really want to get a smash zelda amiibo for the twilight bow since it apparently fires in a straight line forever and uses no ammo since it shoots light arrows.

WHAT? I'm testing this out right now, Jesus. Didn't use amiibo for any items on my playthrough cause I figured it'd make things too easy but goddamn.

Indeed. I also want those runes in any future Zelda. After BOTW I NEVER want to slowly push blocks around again. Either make me do a physics puzzle to get them to move or just make them metal. Magnesis is such a QoL improvement.

Is there something about the Faron region that causes it to have fucking thunderstorm constantly? I tried waiting by a fire in a cave and the weather immediately switched back to thunderstorm afterwards.

I just want to climb up the highest waterfall man :(

Well, unfortunately, that's not how the game is designed. The very core of the game is rooted in transforming and traversing your environment - this includes making use of the tools available to you and not always having the right one.

The game is designed and balanced with random weapons in mind. You have to not try to make the game work differently. Not even the
Master Sword
has unlimited use. Treat your weapons like ammo. When they're gone, they're gone. You go onto the next one. The game challenges you to make the most out of what you have. That's the combat system the game is predicated upon. It's not just about indulging your ability to use your favorite weapon - you can play Bloodborne for that.

I do understand what you're saying. I know it sounds like I'm arguing you but I'm actually trying to help. I had a hard time at first because everything was breaking all the time and it all felt so pointless. Then it "clicked" and now I love it for what it is.

No, but you do get a star on your savefile and the map will show the % of stuff you have.

IIRC, there are some quests in that area that require lightning, so I think the game forces thunderstorms in specific areas.

Also,
there is a massive lightning dragon that roams the area
.

Nope, some regions are named after key characters in Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, like Linebeck Island. Pretty firmly in the Wind Waker timeline.

There are also places named after stuff from Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, Link Between Worlds and so on. Using the easter egg area names to determine timeline placement is not a good idea.

This game is clearly in the Downfall timeline.

Yes.

How did Zora's come back? It was a forced evolution if I remember. Unless this is a different species on top of that the Master Sword should be in old Hyrule, not new. Sounds like some of these things are easter eggs.
