I remember upgrading from i5-750 to i7-6700K with little to no increase in performance, now instead of GTX 780 I'm loaded with GTX 1070, here's hoping for stable 1440p60 all maxed.

It's for heavensward.

It's been updated.

I'm a bit behind on stormblood and ffxiv news in general but are monks getting a weapon change?

Why would you think this? They're always going to be punching things with fist weapons.

I kinda wanna hop back in, but then again, I haven't even beat vanilla yet. Might be too overwhelming.

If you can slog through vanilla, Heavensward is actually really fun and engaging.

Guess it wasn't unpacked fully, but this is mine at 1080p. I usually play at a higher res just fine though.

I like these benchmarks. The feel of running FFXIV without actually having to play/sub/download full game+patches. I haven't tried the game on my new setup and it already ran good on my previous. This is the prettiest, and best running MMORPG I've played. I can't complement it on much but I'm always impressed by how well it looks and runs when I jump back in for whatever reason (mostly free weekend, I skipped them for a while now though).

Red Mage looks good, I'm looking forward to seeing how it is. SAM is looking kind of boring from the trailers. I need to see someone play it or just a gameplay trailer with no fancy, "I'm about to sheath my blade, watch this, watch this!, camera angles. I hope SAM's armor isn't just cloth, I want to see those fancy masks and plates. (I haven't kept up with this, they probably showed this stuff already)

Framerate gets iffy at 2880. I have no problem playing most of Heavenward this way. Got 4500 this time, most stuff maxed but tessellation and ambient occlusion. Probably 25-30fps

I mean a weapons design change, I know that we'll always be using fist weapons but are the weapons in the expansion going to look more like the ones in the benchmark trailer instead of the usual claw, knuckles, etc.

Averaged a frame rate of 70 at 1440

Tempting to just do that if they fix up the ui scaling

Why are you playing on ps4 when your pc eats the game for breakfast

Mostly just because I use my PC on a big TV and the text gets all weird on PC for me. I gotta be able to see the text!

I've tried to mess with settings but I can't get it to be like it is on PS4.

CPU holding me back

The benchmark is amazing, some scenes made me downright get goosebumps, I can't wait! :D

Performance-wise I'm slightly miffed I can't hold my usual 74fps locked at 1080p but whatever, I'll try it on Windows 10 later to see if it makes any difference.

the trailer looked really cool. I will lose my parser for the time being but I'm going with the PS4 version first this time. I'm hyped for the Pro patch.

Are there any new graphical enhancements to the expansion?

They said there's nothing noteworthy, but they're releasing a PS4 Pro patch which will help bring that version closer to PC.

Not really, the biggest change is zone size this time around.

The only zone size changes they've mentioned is that the new cities won't be split in half. This means they might be slightly larger, but the actual non-sanctuary zones are said to be the same size and amount as HW's, which were already too big.

The zones are the same size as the ones in HW.

Are they? I thought they said at one of the fan fest they were making everything bigger due to the lack of ps3 holding things back.

Make em bigger imo. Everything outside of the first two zones in HW felt tiny

So 1440p doesn't seem to take that much more power even though it hitched much more as I had to run 1440p fullscreen and there was no V-Sync going on.

The HW ones are mostly dead space, if they can fill the new ones with more stuff then sure, otherwise it's just wasted travel time.

Flying around Azys Lla, for example, is a chore.
