Patch 1.1.1.4 (03 August 2017)
Hi everyone, Hidden Dreams is here! Let's jump into some notes about what's new in the technical side of things.
NEW LANGUAGE: ITALIAN
Hollow Knight can now be played in Italian, thanks to the help of a fantastic, dedicated bunch of fan translators!
CONTROLLERS: NATIVE INPUT MODE (BETA)
Some players have been having issues with their controllers not being recognised by the game, or behaving weirdly. As a step toward fixing the issue, we've added this alternative control mode to the game.
If you're having issues with your controller, go to Options > Game Options and turn Native Controller Input (Beta) to 'On'. This should hopefully solve the issue.
Note that this feature is still in Beta and will need some more testing before it is fully stable. Some testers have a reported an issue where quitting to the main menu causes the game to crash and close, but they report that this happens AFTER the save occurs so no data is lost - it's a just a bit inconvenient/jarring. We'll collect everyone's feedback on this feature and integrate it into the game fully in future.
MAC DELAY
Quick note for Mac users: Due to a last-minute mac specific bug, there'll be a very slight delay on the Hidden Dreams update. We're sorry for the inconvenience, and please expect the Mac version to arrive very soon.

The barrier between Hallownest and Dream has weakened. Essence can be gathered by defeating enemies.
