In handheld mode, you can only recentre the camera within a 90-degree range. It has to be flat on a surface, directly facing you or somewhere in between those. Anywhere outside that and it won't recentre, so you can't hold it above your head while you play.

No idea why they did this. Are gyroscopes less accurate at certain angles?

Yeesh, that's a really annoying limitation. It works perfectly fine for BotW so I doubt it has to do with gyro sensitivity, it might just be the range they chose because they didn't consider people using it outside of that range.

Basically this means I have to disable motion when I play in bed, which is probably like 30-40% of the time. That's a pain.

Is it really not possible that I'm playing in the same team as my friend in Regular Battles or Ranked Battles? That is, besides randomly being thrown into the same team in Regular Battles.

Once you reach Rank B you get access to League Battles, which are Ranked battles but in teams (Squads) of 2 or 4.

It's a separate mode because teams are put against other teams (otherwise there's a tactical disadvantage to non-teamed up players).

It's dumb that Salmon Run isn't available 24/7.

A lot of those might be disconnects (as to leaving near the start). I've gotten disconnected a few of times mid match even tho my internet is fine. Got the "you've dropped out of a lot of games, which is suspicious" message and stopped playing online for now. Going to be looking into it more once I have time, but I know a lot of others are experiencing frequent drops.

You earn points each Salmon Run game and how more you get the higher the rewards. Every certain amount of points gives you a super bonus wich is like 32k or so in gold. You can claim those rewards there.

This game is pretty addicting. My major frustration so far with turf war is everyone focusing on killing each other instead of getting that ink out.

I don't mind people focusing on kills as long as they do it well. The less of the enemy team, the less they ink. It becomes a problem if the entire team does it.

Can you get more than one style of shirt from Salmon Run? All of the shirts in the pictures for the rewards are the same polo shirt, and the two times I've gotten enough I've gotten the same polo shirt with different abilities.

Even if the shirt comes with a ton of slots, I don't want to wear the same shirt that everyone else wears. I value my individuality too much for that.

They may not be AFK, just DCed. DCed players are set to 0 pts even if they've been participating in the match halfway till they got DCed. But yeah, uneven fights can suck, though winning a 3v4 is very satisfying

Yeah, my connection is good and I still get dropped regularly. No idea why.

Roughly half my matches pre-level 10 had disconnected players. I've not had any issues since level 10 because I assume these people never reach ranked.

You should've pushed a bit more, S and S+ were pretty great, everyone there was very competent.

Yeah, I should have. I think I dropped from A+ to A three times and became too frustrated with it. I didn't mind people being bad per se, but there was too many players that blindly played a single strategy in the A ranks, to the team's benefit or detriment. e.g. rushing for a flank point regardless of team positions, using specials regardless of timing or flow of match or presence of teammates, sniping and refusing to take a cleared point even if they're the only one alive etc.

I don't care about ranks these days, so I probably won't mind this time.

Dunno, but the crack supposedly works like that line on the bar after a rank up; it prevents the bar from emptying anymore.

Gonna have to try at it again to see what happens after a few wins.

Meanwhile, on Tower Control, I jumped from C- to B, thanks to excellent teammates and no disconnects on either sides' team.

Ranked mode experience bar, shows up once you hit Lv10 and do some ranked games. It cracks after too many losses in a row.

I want to like the roller but I can never get kills with it. Especially the carbon roller.

I've yet to use the Carbon again in Splatoon 2 (I love the curling bombs too much) but in 1, the only way to have a kill was splash damage, unless your opponent was really bad... Try jumping at point blank and attacking in midair.

Though beside opportunity kills, it's not the best way to use a roller...

I've had twice "the connexion is unstable" just today, and it's not my network connexion, I've never had issues with Mario Kart 8 DX or Puyo & Tetris.

I'm at 5 power off and power on just to solve connexion bugs with the Switch (4 being the DNS unavailable one), that's utterly annoying

I've never quit a match, but I wonder how much time I was that guy with 0 points... :/

Man the dualies are so good for the aggressive play style. I love that dodge roll, it's saved me so many times. You can out maneuver and outgun in close range.

Stacks, but with diminishing returns.

yeah they'll stack, there will be a point where continuing to stack will be a case of diminishing returns on the affect it will have though. I'm not sure if we know the exact curves for Splatoon 2 yet

Interesting. I've monitored my connection while my friend and I were playing and it was fine. I'm not quite sure what is going on but it's getting frustrating. I've even had that in game message saying that I would basically get banned if it kept happening. I ended up doing some single player at that point.

While shooting press B and you will roll in the direction you point. Amazingly useful!

Yeah you have it if you are using dualies, press jump while firing and you will roll in the direction you're moving. It's really useful in a pinch when you are forced to move onto enemy paint and don't have time to paint over it because you're in the middle of a fight. You can quickly roll over their paint without the massive slowdown, all while continuing to fire at the enemy and throwing their aim off.

Also, ranked seems like a very long upward struggle to B-. I get very little gauge from winning, it seems. Long than the original game. Do I have to make it to B- in all the modes, or just one? And once I get there, is it unlocked forever or will I get locked out if I fall ranks?

That is really disappointing and kind of a deal-breaker for me. I want to play together with friends and now that Salmon Run isn't even available that's not happening at all. Only solution is grinding Ranked Battles alone until you're rank B. Ludicrous.

meaning japanese game: only japanese topic for splatfest
european game: only european topic for splatfest and so on.

but we all play in one big pool together.

Can players from different regions team up for Splatfest team battles then?
