This. This exactly.I think it's time because of the rewards. I made most of my money on Salmon Run and got several tickets.

It's not so much that you had a problem with it but that you expressed it in such a venomous tone. Just seemed really uncouth.
Ah I see, my bad :/
You can say that about any criticism. I don't like this attitude.
"Microtransactions? Calm down, just a videogame"
This is total bullshit by Nintendo and I don't understand anyone who defends this.
Am I the only one who thinks Salmon Run will usually be daily without gaps and only has one now because the game just launched and they're analyzing data to make tweaks? It is the first PvE the game has had and unlike multiplayer there was no Test Fire type of thing for it, or previous game precedent, as in the case with the other modes

So are the numbers after a battle next to your name how many people you splatter? How about on the app?
I'm all for games showing us our play stats, but I'm not sure what some of these even are.
First number is splats, second number counts the times you used your special.
Thanks! What's the number in parentheses on the app? Anyone know?
I agree it makes salmon run feel like an event, something to look forward to. I also don't think Nintendo expected salmon run to be this popular.I like the timed nature of Salmon Run, it makes it feel like it's something special.
That being said; I wish they would create another mode and sub that in when Salmon run is down. I'm going to get burned out playing competitive mode.
How do I reroll equipment? The dude that does it says he's busy. I'm assuming I need to unlock it somehow. And I get "ability chunks" from scrubbing stuff, I assume?
Also, ranked seems like a very long upward struggle to B-. I get very little gauge from winning, it seems. Long than the original game. Do I have to make it to B- in all the modes, or just one? And once I get there, is it unlocked forever or will I get locked out if I fall ranks?
Seems like a pointless, shortsighted restriction, tbh.
Anyone?
Anyone?
so you can go to Murch and get the sub abilities on a piece of gear scrubbed. then you get to keep whatever sub abilities you had as ability chunks. I believe you need 10 chunks of the same ability to fill a sub slot.
I think you need to be a certain level before Murch stops saying he's busy.
So I just picked this game up today. Am I still able to try out Salmon Run? And do you have to be local co-op to play it?
Also, i believe you just need to be B- in one mode to unlock league. Not sure what happens if you later fall back to C.

I hadn't even realized this was a thing. I'm @ level 13, and I've just been equiping cruddier gear to level slots because it was arbitrarily more satisfying while I level, but that's cool to know there's a system to carry over traits to preferred gear.
It's up for general online play during a block of time daily (the gate to the left behind the main multiplayer entrance), and there's also the private/local game entrance middle-right in the plaza just to the left of the arcade machines.
yeah without being too deep into Splatoon 2 it seems like a big upgrade
in Splatoon 1 I basically had to choose from whatever gear had a main ability and sub preference that I liked and then re roll until I got triple subs which can take quite a while. now I can just throw on a piece of gear that has a preference towards a certain ability that I like, fill all 3 slots while playing, scrub them with Murch, rinse, repeat. then I can throw them on whatever the fuck I want.
so I still have to pick gear based on what main ability I like but the sub preference no longer matters in terms of eventually getting triple subs on it so I can worry more about freshness
Do you understand the "common perk" trait for the different brands of gear? I don't know if that means it's a passive perk that isn't otherwise listed, or a set bonus thing, or that the perk just tends to show up on that brand.
Why is it that this question has been asked multiple times and no one has answered it. Is no one here at B- yet?
Honestly, I like to think that Salmon Run definitely helps to make Splatoon 2 feel like a sequel rather than just a "1.5" sequel. Don't get me wrong, the new locations, weapons, art style, moves and etc. etc. definitely help too, but to have this alternative mode does make the game feel alot more enjoyable when you have a mode where players do work together against waves of enemies. I wonder though if in the future that they will decide to make the mode more frequent than it is right now or if it was intended to be this way so that people aren't just playing that mode all the time.
Either way, I've been enjoying the game thus far and I can't wait to see the other weapons that come out later on.
Salmon Run is cool, though I'm having the problem of it just being too easy/short to really feel substantice. I see how you grind for the prizes (I've only gotten the first two items), which is theoretically cool, but the actual gameplay of it is dirt-easy. Is this just me? Am I missing something and just lucked out with teams? Even with "bad" random weapons, those weapons are still really effective for support.
Amazon needs to get some more in stock ASAP. Can't wait to play this.

Well, Nogami did work on those games too...Anyone else think Mr. Grizzly sounds like the grumpy villagers from Animal Crossing? It's uncanny.

Are you the max or a high rank in salmon run yet? It can become very hectic with lots of boss spawns later.

I'm not, though so far I hadn't noticed a challenge progression. If that's built in, then I guess that's good. I'm wondering how that'll work when there's a gap in job experience for available players.
Fuuuuuuuck was looking forward to playing some Salmon Run after work but it's apparently not on today?
Why Nintendo. Whyyyyy.
