you always respawn at the spawn point but you can super jump to any of your teammates' locations by pulling up the map and choosing whoever you want to jump to

I have a friend who's gotten into the game, but he turned off motion because he couldn't get used to it due to the lack of stick control on the Y-axis and I can tell his aim is suffering for it.

Press X to bring up the map, select a teammate with the gyro pointer or the corresponding d-pad button, and press A. As said above, it's not a respawn, but a move you can do anytime.

Was always like that. Gives people enough time to level up their shirt. Tons of people only play a handful of matches before calling it day for usual play.

And the one shift after that is: GAL 96, Mini Splattling, normal squelcher and duallies.

Those are leagues better, thankfully.

If I remember correctly, you have to wear your splatfest shirt during splatfest to rep your team, so they do the voting early so you can fill its slots.

Tri-slosher is fucking powerful. Getting double and triple kills left and right! I wouldn't be surprised if it gets nerfed at some point.

Thanks, sounds great. I'm okay with a short campaign ala Titanfall 2, something that lets you get your feet wet mechanically speaking.

Half of the purpose of the campaign is to get you familiar with the general mechanics, getting used to inking and mobility, and providing introductions and situational strengths of each of the major weapon classes. So as a semi-tutorial to Splatoon at large it works well but is probably a little more challenging than the first game.

Some of the extras and collectibles are pretty well hidden to boot. I've had to get very used to it since I've been on vacation with no 'net access all week.

Play with motion controls for an hour. after an hour, switch to analog. You will likely want to switch back immediately.

You get an in-game t-shirt that you're forced to wear during the splatfest. It has three empty sub ability slots, so getting it early lets you get XP to fill them.

When you die you are always going to respawn at your spawn point. You can super jump any time when you are alive however.

I've been using gyro since the first game, I'm actually serious with my 'asking for a friend' here lol. He loved BotW's gyro aiming, so I think he'd like this if he gave it a longer shot.

To the people saying it just takes a lot of practice, I'll try to get him to try (but I won't press him, he is having fun as-is). Maybe it'll click faster if he raises the sensitivity.

Im not even that great at this game and i still get at least 10 or more kills in ranked and definitely quite a few in turf wars.

At minimum i try to at least get 1000p in turf wars even if i dont kill much. Thats with the N Zap no less.

I see people using aerosprays with like 200p and i wanna cut myself.

True, i am all for Marina too but i just don't like ketchup at all the only version of ketchup i do eat and like is curry.

Yeah, how much you win reach category by doesn't matter now. Winning popularity is one point, winning solo queue battles is one point, and winning team queue battles is one point.

Salmon Run can get crazy af with the amount of Samonoid Bosses that can appear at once. I really started to appreciate this mode yesterday night, especially when a bunch of us got together on Discord and started to coordinate on how to tackle certain situations. We did relatively well considering the weapon loadout. Fun times.

Really wish people wouldn't grab the Rainmaker if they don't know the routes, OR at the very least listen to teammates pings of "This way!"

That's ultimately my biggest gripes is people don't use chat pings nearly enough, at least where I am currently sitting rank wise.
