Tru, it has carried me all the way to A rank.
But now that im in a rank its clear that I dont belong here, im getting outplayed super bad

I will stick to my belief that OP weapon or no, the players who have the best chances of winning are those that make the best use out of each map's layout and know it in and out.

I hope the .52 Gal doesn't get nerfed since that is my best weapon. I love the Tri Slosher too but it is kinda busted. lol

The TriSlosher isn't even fun. The Squelchers on the other hand:

Well I did play the original Splatoon, so im pretty confident I can find my way around the maps. BUT, i never used a slosher in that game, so here I decided to go for tri slosher in ranked and it was too effective, like my weapon of choice was the reason I was stuck in C and changing to the tri slosher= free ticket out of C

Jesus fuck these TEAMS.

Every fucking time it gets to the last minute and we have the map locked down these idiots suddenly think that we HAVE to ink the enemy base too.

And then proceed to get fucking slaughtered.

Holy fuckin shit tri slosher + multiple running speed or swimming speed perks reks like crazy had like 15 + kills in one game.

I singlehandly prevented the enemy team from inking any significant amount of turf lol.

This weapon is insanely OP.

Oh wow. whoever just gave me a free path to the goal after i picked the rainmaker, you are the real mvp. damn what a great play, thank god i noticed it or I would have taken the hardest parth

When do you unlock 3 star gear? I read somewhere it says 12 but I'm 13 now and the store still doesn't sell it.
I was under the feeling I got my first 3 star before reaching 10 (maybe I'm wrong, tough)... Is there really a threshold? Seems really random to me (even if you probably get more 3 stars later).

Anyway, the best source for 3 stars gear is still ordering from the plazza, I'd say...

Store items reset after a few hours so maybe you need to wait for the stores to sell new stuff.
It resets at midnight. Not sure it updates at other times...

It's unbelievable how many times I just lost literally at the very end either in overtime or at the very last second in splatzone, mostly on pumptrack. If we have control in the last 30 seconds, DON'T GO AROUND TRYING TO UP SPECIAL.

Ah, man, that beret. Every time I've seen it on someone in the square I've been so tempted to order it, but all of the main abilities I've seen for it have been ones I didn't want. Can't wait for it to show up on SplatNet with something decent.

Looks so much better than the Annaki beret.

I don't remember the tri slosher being this OP in Splatoon 1 was it that good there too? Altho the octobrush also is majorly improved.

It's been buffed a little, but I think people are also overreacting to it. Like how people treated the roller in splatoon 1 like an invincible steam roller.

God, I love when one person thinks they've found the perfect crows nest to kill from, as my team is moving the rainmaker to his base.

This is the worst feeling when you're the one hiding waiting to kill the RM and prevent Overtime. :(

Last night I had a pretty funny game on Tower Control where I just swam up the tower for the last twenty seconds. It shouldn't have worked (and indeed, didn't work the next time I tried it), but it did. The enemy hopped on to start Overtime and I let the tower move a bit before swimming all the way up and killing the rider, ending the game. Again, shouldn't have worked, but just that once was enough. :p

I'm not an ace sniper, but I did pretty well in S1 until I dropped them for Octobrush and have trying to learn to use them again in the last few days, I'm now consistently getting 5 kills each match reaching 10 fairly often, 0 deaths and ranking 1st or 2nd in turf painted. Though I'm still far from being able to carry a team like I can do with other weapons and still miss a lot of easy shots. Anyway, what I've found has helped me improve my results a lot:

-Don't camp. That makes it easier for the enemies to avoid you. So try moving around a lot. As an exercise, force yourself to change location after firing 3 shots, even if there aren't enemies around and you're just painting turf. Shooting reveals your location and that makes you vulnerable. Changing locations frequently makes it harder for the enemy to avoid you, how will they do so if they don't know where your shots will come from?
-Try to stay alive. One thing that makes snipers a great asset for a team is that they provide a safe jumping spot, but this only works if you manage to keep that spot safe from enemies and aren't constantly respawning.
-Always have a path to escape. Snipers either shoot or move, so if an enemy is getting close just flee to another location where you can snipd him before he gets in range.
-Take the center. If you can hold the center of the stage you'll become an awesome asset to your team: you'll stop the enemy from advancing and you'll provide a very nice jump spot. Besides, you'll get a lot of opportunities to snipe people coming at you from the front and be constantly repainting turf. This is where a sniper truly shines.
-Lay down roads for your teammates and block the enemy. Maybe you see a friend fighting someone but you can't snipe the enemy. Try laying some ink to increase your teammate's mobility, or shoot right next to the enemy to impede his movement.
-Aim away from the enemy as the shot is charging, then put the crosshair on them and shoot. This way they won't see your line of sight until it's too late.
-Use your specials, Ink Curtain helps a lot to stop enemy advance and hold the center, basic bomb is better to deal with enemies who are too close (in these situations use them to help you escape).
-Aim where the enemy is going, not where they are. The best snipers read enemy movement and anticipate it. This will make your shots hit much more often.

Hope it helps!

THANK YOU!!!!!

Both received big buffs for Splatoon 2. Especially Tri-Slosher.

Hmmm i see, yeah true it's still early days tbh and not everyone got to the high levels yet or has unlocked all weapons yet too.

In Splatoon 1 i saw alot of rollers but the weapons used were pretty diverse still and i started playing that game in 2017. And rollers could be easily countered if you were smart.

Probably the same in 2 then.

I don't want to jinx myself, but splattershot jr has carried me from C- hell to C... I don't know, I don't want to believe it's better than the dulies.

It's a good kit. Enperry Dualies also have a good kit, are you using those or regular? (I don't think regular is bad, but Enperry seems slightly better due to Inkjet.)

For a starting weapon, Splattershot Jr is really good. I like Ink Armor a hell of a lot more than most of the specials honestly.

I just realised that the faster you go straight for the middle of the map, the bettr you control the enemy team.

Amazing

Yep. It's like Connect Four, whoever controls the middle controls the game.

My favourite tactic is to Leeroy Jenkins. I beeline for the middle and take out my opponents in one on one combat, then I head straight for their spawn point while my teammates paint the middle.

I mostly use the regular dualies because I like tentamissiles, but I've been on a losing string with them lately. I have the Enperry Dualies, but never thought of using them. I'll try them out later

Lol, I underestimated it. I find it less 'finicky' than other weapons, and I can splat enemies with it easily. Now the question is, can I climb to C+ with it? Look forward to the answer.

Consistently getting three player teams or teams with 1 or more afk tonight for some reason

The only ability where I noticeably saw a difference when I had it equipped is that increase special weapon fill up thing. I was throwing out those snake bombs like 6 times in one match vs just 2 in one match.

Ugh. Just when the campaign was starting to get good, they force me to use the blaster. Not even the rapid blaster. The shitty slow one. I fucking hate the blaster. And then to top it off they expect me to fucking mid-air grapple from point to point while hitting a target off to the side with the blaster. Fuck this.
If it's the stage I am thinking of then all you need to do at that part is aim slightly above the first grapple and hold down the trigger. Do not alter your aim, and you will easily get through that part of the stage.

OK, I'll try that later. I was trying to time my shots and fucking up horribly. God I hate the normal blaster so much. Such a terrible weapon.

Replaying the final boss with the tv super loud it's....an amazing adrenaline rush and the music sounds amazing as fuck it's perfect.

Even while it's easy the spectacle, design etc it's amazing tbh.

Edit: time to replay the splatoon 1 boss now lol.

Yup. I wish the game would accommodate AFKs better. I'm not sure what a good solution would be, but it sucks how it all comes down to whether you or your opponent has an AFK.

Got another Rank Up Jump, this time with Rainmaker going from C- to B-. Holy crap I've only won 1 out of 4 games so far on B- Rainmaker. One match we ran it all the way to 4 distance left right in the beginning, and we somehow freaking lost with 2 seconds left. I need a break from Rainmaker, bring on the Tower Control lol

There's really no good solution to AFKs/DCs. You can't throw new players in mid-match because the matches are so short that getting thrown in half-way means you hardly get to play at all. I wouldn't trust bots to be competent replacements for players either.

Really the best you can do is punish the shit out of people for dropping, but too many people are using cruddy Wi-Fi instead of a wired connection like they should and probably aren't even dropping on purpose.
