Is there any other story to Salmon Run than what's in the game? Does it add any story later if so? I'm still only a part timer so don't spoil lol, I just love Grizzco.

How do you guys tell which fountain the golden Salmon is hiding in? I can't manage to see any difference between them...

shoot them

I'm bummed by how garbage the Dynamo Roller is in this game.

While the vertical splash has helped the roller in general, it kills the Dynamo roller. Also it gets stuck with the Sting Ray, which means you can't even get the quick ink refill like the other supers get. It's just a bad set all around.

I don't know what it is, whether it's the teammates I keep getting or the weapons, but Salmon Run is frustrating right now. I was Overachiever rank and I lost it and got back to Go-Getter 30.

I think it's stupid you can lose your rank (not the progress, the actual rank) in Salmon Run since it affects difficulty. I got that far, don't make me go back because I had a bad streak, this isn't competitive.

I really wish you could see the description of the gear ability you unlock WHEN you unlock it. Yeah I'll probably get a lot of the pictures memorized, but it's annoying to have to back out just to see what you got.

So I just got a bonus on Salmon Run and couldn't tell what it was. It wasn't a ticket. Some kind of icon. Anyone know what the type of rewards are to figure it out?
Tickets can be redeemed at Sean's food truck, which is right behind you when you enter the square. They can be redeemed for food or drinks, which can give you buffs that either increase your experience gain at the end of a match, increase your money gain at the end of a match, or increase your chance of rolling a specific ability when you level up gear. These buffs last for 20 matches, and getting food or drink will wipe any previous buff you have that's still active.

Maybe it was an abbility fragment? When you have enough of one you can go to the guy who rerolls abbilities in the plaza and use the fragments to add that abbility to any gear you want.

Who else didn't know that The Shoal was an openable door that you can walk through

Trying to see if I'm really ignorant or if it's just not something most people will walk into. :L

I just go to the menu when I need to go somewhere. I haven't even memorized the layout of the square yet lol

Ugh, this utter moron in Salmon Run kept raising the platform I was trying to get on, for some reason he never left it, getting us both killed and ending the run, what the fuck.

I fucking give up. How do you get to the top ranks, and the not 1, but 2 teammates go down in the first 30 fucking seconds of the first wave. How is this kind of incompetence even possible.

Yeah but all the gushers emit the same small ring of light. Is there a way to tell which one holds the goldie before shooting it?

There are two tiers to the gushers that don't contain a goldie. The first is a very low gusher flow with no light; this means the goldie is hiding very far away from that gusher. Gushers with some golden light and a higher gusher flow height means that the goldie is somewhere around the gusher you just opened.

Think of it like a "getting warmer". You can use the height as an indicator of how close the goldie is, and then only search the gushers closest to the one you just opened. This also makes your life easier, as opening fewer gushers means less enemies coming up to the surface to swarm you.

Not much you can do really. Best thing you can do is make sure you can play the weapons in rotation well, spam bombs to revive people at a distance, and try not to get killed yourself. Same as regular games, minus the revives, really. :P

EDIT: On this note, throwing bombs can save you from teamwipes. Even if your entire team is down, the round will not end until a bomb in play explodes. You can use this to revive downed teammates even if you all die, allowing you to continue play instead of failing.

For those wondering where the whole furries memes is coming from, there was a user that posted that only furries are the only ones who can figure out how to draw on the Switch.

30 hours in 10 days and at times it feels like the best multiplayer game ever. The way I play, in terms of gameplay mechanics, it somehow reminds me of Uncharted 2 MP, playing with a machine gun in each hand. U2 was my precedent favorite MP online experience of all time (FIFA aside).

I love this game, I'm totally addicted.

.
Ohhh it all makes sense now, thanks a lot!

To be fair, "Find the Goldie" is by far the worst Salmon Run wave type. It's just not a very satisfying mechanic, feels too much like lucky dip.

I absolutely love the idea of Salmon Run since co-op/horde mode in games are my jam (or ketchup), but I fucking hate playing with randoms so much.

I wish more of my friends owned a Switch and/or this game. :(

I can't figure out how to skip the boring talk show that comes up every time I change mode in the game. I can only seem to advance it a little by pressing a button, but it's still super tedious. Any ideas?

The Heavy Splatling would be fine if it carried across charge while swimming, but the fact you have no mobility while attacking and can't attack in an enclosed space combined is just awful.

What level do I need to be to unlock the .96 Gal?

I'm digging the .52 Gal but I want the bigger one. It sounds like my perfect weapon.
