Is there a good resource for pro statistics? I'm curious about joy-con vs. pro controller since the joy-con gives you much more movement for gyro but it's always going to have that bluetooth latency while the pro controller doesn't give you much gyro movement (so you have to rely much more on the stick for horizontal movement, and the stick aiming in this game... could use some work) but it can be wired, eliminating the bluetooth latency.

So I actually went 19/15, which is technically a positive record, but it was not fun. Lots of stuff I could gripe about (and did spam the Discord with, sorry guys). Thankfully after a while I quit getting Shifty Station, the platforms were stuttering every time they moved (not my fault though, I'm running wired!), and it was hurting my eyes. Ketchup v Mayo games also hurt my eyes, the colors were horrible. Was actually pretty happy with Mirrora because it meant better colors.

Man, looking at a ketchup vs mayo splatfest map is like looking at a jsnake thread...

Shifty Station is never close, it's a huge blowout one way or another, that is not the calling card of a good map.
My first match there was tightly in my team's control until we wiped with about 20 seconds left. Splatfest matchmaking is a tossup, I wouldn't rule the stage out just yet.

Also, related spoilers gleaned from data-mining (please spoiler tag in any further discussion):
The exact layout will change (or 'shift', heh) each splatfest. We might not see this layout again anyway.

SLOSHER SURE IS BALANCED

LITERALLY THE PYRO OR ROADHOG OF SPLATOON

Ya I'm sick of being hit from that bs further away than any gun.

Reaaaaallly not feeling this Splatfest, I keep facing my own bloody team (ketchup) 9/10 matches and the one time we get to fight Mayo they are a 1900 team vs my 1500 so we get rekt out the gate.

Matchmaking is arse, and it sucks fighting your own team and having your avg drop from your own team /smh

Wired control actually has an extra frame of input lag at the moment. We're not really sure why. I just turn the sensitivity up to avoid having to move my controller so much.

Mayo here

This is great, but I have to go to school tomorrow D:

Better go to sleep. Spent the last 30 minutes taking pictures with my amiibo dancing all over the place.

So there's no way to play with friends unless you can fill up a team? Really? You can't just have random people fill in the rest of the slots? And you can't even join on friends during it?

Don't even know why I'm surprised at this point. I mean, this is Nintendo. The company that's locking their online component behind a smartphone app. The inventors of friend codes.

Damn, I'm just so salty.

Yeah, for some reason this just pushed me over the edge too, so to speak. Here's my list:

1) System has no Bluetooth audio device support.
2) No system-wide voice chat.
3) No in-game voice chat.
4) Need to use an external app with an audio mixer, and at least three audio cables, in order to get game audio + voice chat combined.
5) And now, finally, I find out you can't easily play SplatFest with your friends unless you have exactly four people ready to form a team. I had been enjoying Regular Battles with a couple friends this evening, until SplatFest started. Then I couldn't play with them anymore, outside of private lobbies.

It's just too much. This is sufficient evidence to conclude that Nintendo is simply outright bad at online play. They are good at many things, but their level of incompetence with online play is astounding. If I didn't know any better, I'd have to guess that they're actively trying to make their online play functionality as poorly designed as possible. It's that bad.

You can't play Splatfest with fewer than 4 friends for balance purposes, for the same reason that you aren't always on your friend's team when playing with them normally. Nobody wants to join a game with 3 randoms and be matched against a team with 2-4 people on voice chat with each other coordinating. Premades vs. randoms isn't fair to the randoms, and as such premades have to be relegated to fighting other premades - ie. in Team Battle mode.

1.) Somehow unsurprising when you think about it alongside all the other weird things in this game.

2.) "We're"? Who's "we"?

This is why the tickrate is a huge problem by the way.

There was a sploosh o matic player who always got the advantage on me even if i reacted properly or had the jump on him.

Basically a 2 hit kill despite being nowhere near the spray of ink.

It is so dumb that you can get stuck in a lobby loop for 3 minutes with no way to back out.

There are some really annoying and bizarre quirks to this game that tarnishes an otherwise great game.

in ranked ive never had a loss streak like this its hilarious how bad these people are because the game is fucking my matchmaking by tanking me for 8 games in a row by 500 points

I hope someone's regarding all this hot new music
I assume you meant recording. And yes, it's all up already. It was up a week+ ago on YouTube. :p I think people just didn't share since spoilers'n'stuff.

Best part of this whole thing is being able to play all the songs now. All those ?????????? we're annoying to scroll past.

Yep, typo — I'm gaffing while splattin

Ketchup vs. Ketchup. Other team had 200 more power than us. We got decimated.

This matchmaking is terribly flawed, and I don't know if I should be glad that my team has superb people since I did lose.

how can you see each teams power? i only recall a single power rating at the start of each match

Yeah, the power rating is shown at the start of each match. I don't know if the app shows. I just remember the other team being approximately 200 higher than us.

EDIT: It does show on the app.
