Same... it's a big mess. At least we have GOT still coming and who knows.... TLOU2 will probably do ok with reviews, it's their type of thing.
We also still have PS5 coming, so there's plenty of stuff for us to be happy about..I just hope they don't mess it up.

Read the full leaks just now. Man what a disappointment. It's really easy for people read into these reactions and go for the lazy strawman "I hate representation in video games". The problem is these stories question grand narratives to fit their view of the world... which is just really strange. I would have to suspend my disbelief to seriously think this is what a group of people would care about in a post-apocolyptic world full of danger. The narrative they want to tell just doesn't fit the game.

Nah, its just dumb writing. I get the whole "subvert expectations" thing, but to be that bold you need to first deserve it. From what we know the plot is just an average soap opera.
But who knows, maybe the game actually presents its themes properly in very intelligent and surprising manners. However, considering ND stories so far consisted only of a few important moments with loads of pointless witty dialogue in-between, my bet will still be on 'dumb'.

The way I see it is they are being more inclusive. Again.. if you and I were gay we would prob have enough with the straight being forced down our throats and maybe we would want to be represented too. It’s just my opinion. Try not to take it personal.. it’s helpful in the long run. Good luck.

I've seen no reason to think the game isn't going to be absolutely stellar.
I really couldn't give a toss about the representation aspect because by the thing's very nature as a game its not something that can be front and center for most of the play-time.

- There are two big groups. The WLF play the bigger role than that cult group
- I haven't seen anyone confirm that the character is trans other than what people are assuming based on her looks.
- Ellie and Dina do not die.
- Animations look worse than a PS2 game? That's a far reach.
- Gameplay doesn't randomly switch to the character. You spend enough time going through the backstory. How people feel about the character is all based on how that story plays out, and no one has seen it.

I have no interest in being gay, nor do I have any interest to be forced to accept it. I wouldn't have a problem if they developed niche games that cater around them. The problem lies when these ideals are being represented on mainstream established productions, whether they be games, movies, comic, etc. Turning established genders, race, sexual orientation to something they deem socially acceptable for everyone is not something I'm on board with, so I'm going to let my wallet speak for itself, by staying closed. I hope this game flops, and I also hope this new age they're trying to bring about also self-destruct in their faces. I really don't see how any of this shit is profitable, and how this shit is supposed to boost our economy in any way? Seems like economic suicide to me.

It pains me that it has come to this, as TLOU is among my most favorite games of all time, but I've gone ahead and killed my pre-order. This is just not what I wanted out of a sequel. I will of course pick it up someday, but it won't be till a heavy sale or it comes to PS5 or something.

"The Last of Us" and the newest "God of War" both came about at a time where these manlets were starting families, or within spitting distance of it. The ideas of manliness and fatherhood ran deep and resonated with the majority of males who ended up playing them. The subtext was there in both games. Questioning what it means to be a father and role-model. "The Last of Us" was especially egregious because it played at the end with the visceral feeling a man has for those under his charge. Very primal stuff, it can't help but affect.

The game went out of its way to make hilariously out-of-place characters who look like alt-right jokes kill off everyone's favorites.
