Just about every public figure gets death threats these days thanks to the points of access provided by social media. It's shitty and uncalled for, but best to just brush it off since they're rarely credible threats.

We are already starting off with two false statements lol

look at their meta's and sales figure they arent overrated and the general consensus is their are great developers pushing the envelope in the industry.

Also him being talentless is laughing since his two hits being Uncharted 4 and TLOU all did well critically and sales wise.

Is there like.. an actual example of a death threat? Because past "threats of death" have often been made up or hyperbole..

Not that it never happens, I totally believe it does. But if someone claims to have received death threads and wants pity or spark condemnation, I would like a bit more to go on before I start lecturing in an empty class room.

Literally anyone can get death threats via social media, 99% of these threats are pure bs and as we have seen many times before a lot of these "i'm getting death threats now!" situations were nothing more than just a publicity stunt.
I am NOT claiming it's what is happening to Neil (or what he is doing to himself), but after all these sob stories i just don't believe at face value.
 
I've always been of the opinion that there is a world of difference between pre-internet death threats, and the reactionary button pushing done by internet raised trolls who enjoy seeing their antics in the media and rustling jimmies by sending out an anonymous tweet.

Does this happen to serious individuals, or just woke tech industry folk? It's obviously trolls, but it's always treated as a credible threat.

Let's take a good step back, and reflect on the last 5 years. Who is known for hoaxes? Who benefits from this threat? You don't think Neil has had threats before this latest drama? Full disclosure, I don't like the direction ND is taking TLoU2. I do think ND is a top tier developer. I don't think threats are acceptable.

You say that, but how do you prepare? Or deal with it once it happens?

We see the damage it does to kids (online bullying), even adults. Is it just something you really gotta just brush off? Because I can imagine if its just this incessant barrage it can be hard to get your head around.

Where does Druckmann say he received a death threat? Are there other tweets I'm supposed to be seeing?

"You haven't hit the necessary death threat quota" could be an inside joke between devs. (I'm not saying that's more likely; I'm saying without context I can't tell.)

Yes, it still sucks to be inundated with extreme negativity, especially over something as low stakes as entertainment. I have a familiarity with it. Your choices are to carry on, or don't. So you carry on.

Druckmann isn't even a leftist!! Otherwise he wouldn't exploit his workers literally to the hospital like he did.
[the interviewed]... he was a witness to the big crunchtimes that other teams would have to do. This actually led to one of his friends to go to a hospital after this bad treatment.

Also Bruce Straley directed games tho, and let's not forget that Straley's role usually landed more on the game design portion while Neil being more inclined to story and such.
 
I've had more credible violent threats against me on the internet, and I'm a nobody. Someone I was shit talking back and forth with one time out of nowhere told me the city I lived in, and threatened me.
