It always sucks to see, I mean, it's completely disgusting really. It's unfortunately what happens when "fans" love characters, a series, a universe, and the direction goes where they don't want. It's beyond uncalled for, but keyboard warriors are always going to be present until they can no longer be anonymous.

There is a difference between an anonymous kid and a well known developer who is the target of the worst gamer backlash since gamergate.
When is just trash talking where the other is vitriol directed at a known person who gamers are mad at for god knows what reason. People are mad at Druckmann is he literally killed somebody. Truth be told though the death threats against the 14 year old are not okay either.

Cant take death threats lightly boss. Like I do agree with the rest of your comment that social media provides a platform to hide behind anonymous profiles to carry out these attacks.
If that's the case, people with a social media accounts better spend 24/7 contacting the police over every hostile comment. The bigger the account, the more threats and shitty comments.

I'd argue and say that anyone who says "anyone who takes death threats seriously is an idiot" is actually an idiot. To you who isn't receiving those death threats, it might seem dumb, but to the person who is it's very real. If I had a family member who was getting death threats, no matter where is came from, I'd take that shit seriously. Would you not? If it was your sister? Your brother? Your mother? You should have been on Yahoo Stock boards in the early 2000s. Barely moderated. Tons of insults and everyone who hated each other on volatile boards (tech and dot.coms) were a cesspool of people going at each other. Threats included. People even scoped others out by finding out where they lived and posting their address.
I personally would not, up to a point. I can defend myself, I also have a healthy collection of knives and guns. But who knows about Neil, who knows what kind of person Neil is? He could be a scaredy man, you never know. I watched too many shows, documentaries, biographies, you name it, of crazy people. You may not be scared or take is seriously, but you're not that person. Never understood why people would make statements like these. Naughty Dog are underrated if anything, they produce GOTY after GOTY and high quality games which millions love to play. Unless you can deliver the caliber of games with the critical accolades Naughty has produced, I'm not sure you are in anyway capable of calling Neil a talentless hack.

My family members do not have millions and millions of followers on social media like Druckmann does. So yes, I would take any death threats my family received very seriously because the person sending the death threats would most likely know my family in real life. Someone who IS an actual threat.
