Its a joke about all the discussion on who should be allowed play what race/gender/etc from past few weeks since Metroid is a Japanese title.

That said, I wouldn't have a problem with it but I also really don't want a modern Hollywood live action adaptation of any Nintendo franchise. I wouldn't want Brie Larson attached to the project either-there are much better actresses out there who do a much better job of PR.
