[...]either way its no big deal to me I dont buy new consoles to play 10 year old games but thats just me.

But it is good to have the option and in my opinion it is good that your game catalogue is moving with you.
So to wrap things up in a nice little Bo, "lollipop_disappointed: sorry bud, equal opportunity offender.

@Bo_Hazem Gets banned for calling out digital foundry.
@TheGreatWhiteShark gets banned too for possible 2 million different reasons.
@Agonistic2020 gets banned too.
@Thrash gaming my n@gger dude no 55 is going to make a video( that is going to be interesting)

Got a white empty console box that is empty but some dildo from England is trying to use it as a walkie talkie. He says it's beautiful and well designed and looks great when sitting flat though.

Load times come in, a lot of people are disappointed with them. of course, there are some who say it's like watching Jesus on water skies. Media outlets also say its wonderful. ( will check digital foundry shelves latter for any new silicon chips or boxes that appear in their desks or shelves

No new games are shown, but don't worry that's not important.
A cold boot of 20 secs, the guy from ign pretending its a lot less?

Things that Sony got crucified 3 months ago are now ok for Microsoft 6 weeks from launch.

SlimySnake SlimySnake still thinks everything is rdna1

Can we get a "best of today" everyday? I would have no need to read 20+ pages endless discussions

Isn't the point here being basically math?
XSX 2.4GB/s vs PS5 5.5GB/s

Do we expect the PS5 to have slower load times than XSX?
No, but we have no idea what kind of bottlenecks non-optimized BC games are going to have (if any).

To further illustrate my point:

An X-Box One X HDD is loading 50MB per second. A X Series X SSD is loading 2.5 GBs per second. It is obvious that the XSX should load RDR2 in one second if it was purely based on SSD speed. But it obviously isn't.

This could the case with the PS5 as well. So let's wait and see.

XSX is 40x faster than the X1X and yet load times and boot times are only 4-6x faster. Specs dont tell the full story though i dont see anyone here saying that that the ps5 will be slower.

Remember when we saw ps4 pro loading times with an SSD? The results are almost the same, so not surprising at all for series X... (ps4 pro with ssd reduces loading times by 50% in some games)

We upgraded PS4 Pro with an 8TB SSD: can we make a better console?
Faster load times, improved streaming: the ultimate storage upgrade benchmarked.

I know you might catch shit for that but these are desperate launches and I'm sure you'll cancel the other two later
one of them is for my brother who lost out on the walmart preorder, and the other im cancelling yes. i hate selling shit on ebay. you cant trust anyone and ebay and paypal take big 15% cuts. fuck that.

but I was up all night that day from 5-12 AM. 7 hours, most of which were spent F5ing bestbuy which i missed out on. I feel like i earned it.

Microsoft are the KINGS OF SPIN.

I mean you got to give them some credit, they are bullshitting and buying their way to good publicity.

Sony got absolute roasted on these forums months back for the exact same things, now people don't even care if they have new games. I have never seen anything like this in my life.

Ok that's a lie, there was that one scene in Bagdad airport with the general saying everything was ok, when the Americans were landing lol.

Covid has had more of an effect that we are told. Both consoles should of been pushed back, at least to March or so, if not a full year.
They are both so scared of the other one going first though.

??? Please don't speak that evil here man. Not without sources. This yr had been rough enough 😩

Richard from DF clarified the BC number that the other video was lacking. There were 500 titles available to press for BC to start, they added another 500 titles over the weekend. So the "we've tested thousands and they'll be available at launch" thing still seems valid. They're simply limiting what people can test right now and seemingly have more info coming but it's under embargo.

whats the speed on this ssd?

i wish they tested the games MS made available for testing today. i would like to see how this ssd loads games like rdr2.

the fact that the load times have only improved 4-6x tells me that load times on last gen consoles were bottlenecked by the CPU just as much as the HDD. the XSX CPU is 4-6x faster which is lining up much better with these load times than the 40x faster ssd.

Love how you only post in this thread to complain bitch and moan about this thread. Great job.
Everytime someone say something bad about Xbox or related to the brand, the guy is just triggered and then accuse all
the thread, is funny to see it.

Nintendo? Hope?

When has the Switch not had massive supply issues?
Almost all the time, Nintendo think more like a toy company than a technology company,
sometimes this works great other well not so much.

You asked for gameplay, here is gameplay. The XSX is still more powerful than the PS5, which will be clear once the 3rd party games roll out.
I am not active a couple of days and we lost X-Fighter into the fanaticism (sorry I read as if you were screaming that quote)

In both cases we'll have last gen code running on current gen machines.
Even if we consider everything around it (slow profiles so the code don't break due to speed for example), PS5 has double the I/O of XSX.
Will it translate to half of the load times? Maybe.
Will it be on par with XSX? Not a chance.

The expansion card has 920 GB of space, so it's 'only' 108 GB for OS, I think.
A large chunk of that you have to assume is for the background recording of 4K footage. I have to imagine series S won't be recording in 4K so that should help somewhat.

Looks like they shrunk the OS from the One. Xbox OS shows everything in binary not decimal right?

If the Seagate Card is 1 TB but only adds 920 GB free space, it may be 1000 GB decimal but only 930 GiB binary and then cut a few off for formatting. Not sure.

Like does the OS say the internal SSD is 1 TB or 1024 GB or just say its 920 GB or 930 etc? I wonder what the OS says it is total.

For Series X if the SSD is 1000 GB total but 800 usable than the OS is 200 GB.
If its from 1024 GB total drive, than its 224 GB. If its from 920 than is 120 GB.
But people see 1 TB and think 1000 GB but have 800 GB usable. So its effectively 200 GB for OS.

500 GB XOne had 365 GB usable space. So Series S will be from 512 GB or less total, if its 512 GB than its ~ 475 GiB.

Assuming ~ 100 GB for the OS (due to less space needed for recording/quick resume) from there and its ~ 375 GB usable for Series S, roughly. Could be less than half of the X's 800 GB.

Well I have my shopto order confirmed for day 1. Sadly my mate did not. All paid up now and waiting. All I need to see now is what amd bring out for my next gpu.

Oh that makes sense. Unfortunately at this point the damage is done and folks are calling MS liars.
You Should stealth post this in the BC thread and watch it burn.

Confirmed by Engadget.

Only 500 Games at launch across all 3 generations? Thats not that many. Fucking knew it. Xbox on their twitter wouldn't confirm all Xbox One games would be running on day 1, same as PlayStation.

Both systems are gonna launch with some limited back compat. Funny how the truth always comes out.

But it also works when you switch off your console I think. At least if you put it in "sleep" mode

If it works in sleep mode that's likely like how the consoles work today where if you have a game loaded and are at the main menu and sleep the console, when it wakes up you are BANG! right back at that menu for the game. I believe that today, that all is written to the HDD as saved state data much like what Windows does with laptops and suspend/resume.

For the new consoles this should be GREATLY accelerated as direct memory access of the SSD's will lead to much quicker loading and resumption of services as well.

I really can't wait to see BOTH the XSX and PS5 load real 'next gen' games from their interface as well to see how quickly that moves. This is going to be an AWESOME, generation!

Umm ... I do? I mean, I turn off all my devices when I leave for work or go to sleep because I have lost one too many devices due to power shortages during thunderstorms or problems with the electricity company which short circuited them. A friend of mine's TV literally got fried due to lightning causing a power shortage.

Besides, why keep the device in sleep mode and still having it consuming power (albeit much less)? I feel like I'm shortening the machine's lifespan by doing so.

Those are good reasons, but to really protect from power surges from lightening, it's also a good ideal to unplug from the wall.

I only do it when I go on vacation, but it's a good ideal in general.

Turned out the people trashing the girl in the video for misinformation should apologies.
She was right and they had about 500 BC games available.

So her video was indeed what she experienced with Xbox Series X.

If anything, the leaked PC parts arrangement with 4 shader arrays of 10 cU looks ,like ps5. And big navi leak looks like 2 x ps5.

Notice the leaks, there is only 40 and 80 CU mentioned. Odd.

Where is the GPU in the middle ?

I have taken this to mean these are AMD's STANDARD GPU configurations. The key here is that both Microsoft and Sony are using CUSTOM GPU's based on RDNA2. So I'm sure it helps AMD to basically offer their GPU in standard 40 or 80 CU configurations, but Sony and Microsoft have gotten their own custom configurations which include the amount of CU's total and usable.
