Thanks, this is an important distinction.
I want to control every kind of strange creatures, from Kirby to Alien Hominid, from yoshi to Sonic, from Ghost of a Tale to Mad Rat Dead and Ori and the Blind Forest.
Creatures always have been protagonist of every kind of tale and story, I won't accept the internet taking that away from me

Uh, I agree with having more animorphic characters in gaming to be honest.
That's what made me love games like Final Fantasy IX & X (even XII) and Mass Effect, because it sold me on that fantasy element of the world.
I could use more games with worlds being populated with more characters with non human features in a Fantasy setting.
That's why I'm so intrigued in playing Biomutant because the world they built is so dang unique and a refreshing compared to the realistic approach in modern day gaming.
Funny thing is, when playing an RPG, however, I tend to play as a human - I just like the idea that other types of people of a differing species exist.

What I've found strange/funny is that the world of FFXIV has Beast Tribes, yet the Miqo'te, Au'Ra, bunny girls and lion men (I stopped playing at Heavensward) they're not seen as Beastmen by the other races.
Or maybe they are now? I haven't kept up.

Never have I ever thought as anthropomorphized video game characters as furries.
I think this is less common because it changes the age perception of a game to a child's game, and therefore limits the overall audience.

Back then people of color were slaves, they didn't have rights, woman wasn't considered important or allowed to vote, people of different sexual orientation was frowned upon for being gay, then all of a sudden times have changed.

They are pretty expensive, but Tail Concerto and Solatorobo are pretty great. Solatorobo in particular looks like a 90s anthro cartoon like SWAT Kats, just a bit more anime.

I find humanoid animal characters to be a little boring and childish, but also a little creepy these days too (because of furry culture). Maybe a lot of people feel the same, so there isnt a huge demand for them anymore?
Their presence isnt a deal breaker though. I recently put close to 100 hours into Fight 'n Rage and it was still a great game, despite most of the enemies being humanoid animals.
