My own experience, I've kinda checked out from dating for a few years now. Dated a bunch of nice ladies, younger, older, skinny, fat, whatever.
But in the end... meh they sorta bore me. But enough about me.

Now with Tinder and such (and covid), it looks like there are basically 2 schools:

- no contact with the other sex, instead lose yourself in porn and vidya
- absolute turbosluts, have tons of meaningless encounters

I'm pretty sure both versions are very unhealthy for society, and for the people involved.

So now we've had almost a year of covid, things are in lockdown everywhere, people are not meeting eachother in the classic ways (bars, etc).

I don't see how there can be sturdy new relationships arising in this climate. Am I wrong here? What are your experiences.
 
I sometimes miss dating. In the past six years I've been single for only month.

And now with covid and both of us working from home, I've never missed being single as much as I do now.
 
Disagree with one minor point: "Turbosluts" an thier miryiad of meaningless encounters are the grease that keeps society running like a well oiled machine.

Could you imagine the sexual frustration being displayed on top of the current divisevness and nastiness between strangers in society without these noble harlets spreading thier joy and clap?

But it cannot be good for the mental state of the average woman to be repeatedly pumped and dumped. For men, pump and dump is basically optimal strategy.

Why do you guys do this to yourselves? Seek out Youtube channels that tell you there's no point to trying as some kind of validation that it's not you that's the problem but "Society"and "Women".

If the problem is society, women or their jawline then they can convince themselves that their lack of success with women isn't something they could work on and improve.

Human behaviour is determined by the environment, not by genes. Beauty ideals have changed every century and they will keep changing until the end of time.
 
I thank God everyday I no longer date. I got married to a beautiful, traditional, cooperative and submissive woman. I now get to ignore all other women for the most part and treat them like men when I do have to interact with them. As opposed to a potential mate.

I would say over 90% of women these are unmarriageable.

Incels are more focused on how attractive other males are than most women are. Admittedly, I haven't dated much and only had one long relationship, but I've never been the peak of male physicality and I got good-looking women interested in me, definitely 7/10-8/10.

Of course, a couple of them were a little crazy, but I liked that just fine. They never got crazy with me anyway.

I guess people (women as much as men) don't like the smell of desperation. It's just not sexy.

As for the question, fortunately I don't have to date anymore because I have my wonderful husband but I miss drunk soulless weekend sex with strangers from time to time. Well, can't have it all 🤷‍♀️.

Dating can suck if you don't know what you want or are looking for. I'm in a stable relationship now and there's plenty to do while stuck inside during covid.. but as someone in their 30s, going back to dating would be interesting.

Hometown advantage if you learned about dating before the apps. You've got a generation now that ONLY knows dating through apps but they didn't build up the real world skills.

Nah. I've always tended to meet women IRL and prefer that so this year has obviously been a problem. I'm not interested in online dating (for reasons you sum up well).

Whenever I see these "incel wisdom" videos I have to recoil a bit. It just comes across as extreme jealousy, or hatred of women a lot of the time. There's lots of normal women with good careers, but they don't date down a lot, so you have to also have a good career and then you find them.

What most of these videos focus on is just trashing attractive, slutty women. I have had some of the best times of my life with party girls, because they oftentimes are just fun people that enjoy sex and like being around people. As long as you're not super clingy and trying to own them, then there is really no misunderstanding there. A lot of guys would be the exact same way if they could until they hit 40, but they can't so they spread around videos trashing women who can get lots of partners. I never see videos criticizing alpha men who sleep with lots of girls and don't settle down. It just comes across as people desperately searching for a way to criticize women, because they're bitter. 🤷‍♂️ Even when you can't get a date, it's just a bad idea to then turn to constant negativity and criticism of the opposite sex online, when the antidote is probably just bettering yourself and being a little more outgoing in reality.
