This will probably be a really fun pod with Phil and Major yucking it up with pete and todd, similar to the one when the deal was announced. No big news, just guys being dudes,

In for the meltdowns if anything but full exclusivity for future titles is announced or hinted on.
it will most likely just announcements about old games going to gamepass. Since there are no games coming out now they kinda have to keep generating interest one way or another.

Likely nothing good will be presented. If MS announced a big digital event (or an old school E3 stage show) then yes there will be some new games.

But any of these Major Nelson shows, Xbox Wire articles, what was that monthly Xbox show called they did last year leading up to Series X launch? All these kinds of shows are junk. The most exciting thing you get is an announcement of a new gamepad variant.

Going by the above posts, the Bethesda 1 pm chat will probably be one of these corporate culture videos they do every year trying to convince gamers to believe Bethesda is the best place to work in the world with diversity on steroids right to the decimal point of gender and race ratios.

Curious to exactly what they plan to communicate..that the trailer didn't already explain.

People want to see games, not a bunch of people telling us about how they plan on making games together but hey we just can't let you see them yet lol.

People need to know that "roundtables" are just some podcast. They will just chitchat about their history and collaboration.

This is a prerecorded, heavily edited, specially approved video chat. The only hype I can possibly see coming from it, is it makes sense to announce some Gamepass, FPS Boost, X Enhance type things between now and then so they can talk about these games being the bets place to play X.

We know they're coming and it would be weird to not talk about them if they drop tomorrow.

Might be enjoyable, but nothing more than that.

you guys are going to be disappointed if you're expecting literally anything at this.

Nothing but corporate lip-service and of course a mob of cock-sure playstation warriors on here reminding everybody that they are "crazy if you think Microsoft has spent $7.5bn not to release Bethesda's games on the PS5"

GraciousFreeGoldeneye-size_restricted.gif

It's going to be a bunch of people talking about the history of thier studios and the history of their games, also how it's good to be joining the MS team. Nothing more.

The only meltdowns are going to be from people saying they wasted their time watching this.

Your second sentence describes XBOX for the last 7 years

They just bought one of the biggest gaming publishers in the world! perhaps that somehow went over your head!
...was sarcasm little buddy, simmer down. as in joking around because Phil never fully answers the questions people want.

lower your battle axe, I'm definitely team green lol

Can MS really afford not to announce or at least show something new here, even just new Starfield footage or something, if Sony's rumored event near the end of the month ends up happening?

I was never expecting anywhere near a blowout of new info, but maybe something of a teaser of new info and/or footage for a Zenimax game coming exclusively to Xbox/PC (and potentially GamePass) would be a good way of continuing discussion and show more of a concrete idea of what they mean by supporting that ecosystem with some exclusive content.

And if only to quell the mob some, maybe another small update on Deathloop or Ghostwire:Tokyo. Doesn't even need to be anything too big. I bring all this up tho because obviously, the first two new games out of Zenimax through this acquisition are timed PS5 exclusives and now apparently an Xbox version of Deathloop isn't even currently in development. If I were a core constituent of the Xbox ecosystem I'd take that as a mild slap to the face. It's a bit like politics; you have to do a little something right by your core constituency/base here and there, too
(I mean this more directly at Microsoft), especially considering they're doing good at appealing too.

At the very least, if they can't do that through any Zenimax titles ATM (maybe they really want to save them for "E3"), then at least post a couple updates on XGS 1P titles that haven't had any new gameplay or game updates posted in a while. Hellblade II, Everwild are two that come to mind. Or try showing something new for Bright Memory Infinite, The Gunk, The Ascent maybe.

This has kinda turned into a "Microsoft not necessarily doing 100% by Xbox core base in showing new footage/details on platform-ecosystem exclusives" side rant but I guess that's the case since no new announcements are coming from this roundtable and (through prior deals) the company in the roundtable has more going on with a competitor's platform/ecosystem than that of their new parent company's (from what info is out there). I'm less interested ATM about what this means for GamePass and want to know more about what this means for Xbox, if you catch my drift.

I agree with you but I seriously doubt they will show anything here. This sounds like a zoom meeting to me.

Yup lol

Folks are just tired of the talk. I support the xbox brand, and the playstation brand..have owned all the hardware for both of em, nintendo too. I want them to win just like I do the others and I love my Series X

But im so got damn tired of these "We're talking about games...but were not talking about games!" type events...and Aaron Greenberg is terrible.

These events make me appreciate how Sony will do the little showcase previewing a few games without anyone there, just a voiceover and content. Thats all we want to see from these types of things

This event is to get a closer look at the teams in bathesda. There isn't going to be any sort of reveal or announcement so don't get your hopes up

Cool. Can't wait to hear a lot of the same shit that we heard when they first announced the acquisition. Phil, Major Nelson, Todd and that other guy probably. Maybe a montage video about the process.

No news is not good news in this case. Phil's gonna keep dangling the carrot til their digital presentation.

It will probably be similar to their other post acquisition videos:

So probably not any info on games

The double fine video is kind of hilarious though. I love the nothing changes with us remark followed by the send up of the obvious product placement (Zune). Nice touch.

If there is going to be nothing in terms of news or announcements then they shouldn't create any hype for it by mentioning it, just do the podcast/fireside chat and release it on the Xbox news site. MS can't help but shoot themselves in the foot.

Im expecting, at best, some GamePass dates. Which in itself is FINE, more Bethesda games on the service is a great thing.

I really wish we were going to get some new game announcements but I think you've pretty much nailed what we are actually going to see.

Yall are just as bad as Sony fanboys.
Well, after getting bullied for seven years straight you can't expect the bullied kid to not one day fight back.

The difference is, Xbox fans are making fun of what denial ps fans are saying regarding third party games.

PS fans on the other hand does everything to mock the other camp with list wars and all that other shit.

I know there's idiots on both sides, but since there's 3 times more ps players, and it feels like 98 percent of them are here on Gaf, it is of course naturally that there's more edgy fanboys there compared to the xbox side on this forum.

You rarely see a ps thread getting shit posted. Okay, maybe a few. But as soon as an Xbox thread pops up you can be sure that 3 out of two pages (and yes I meant it on purpose) are troll posts.

Well, Greenberg literally says in the tweet (OP) :
"Note, this is NOT FOCUSED ON NEWS/REVEAL"
Let's hope he's keeping the expectations low to better exceed them.
I mean they've known for half a year this was happening. They better give us some news.

Literally all I care about today is shelf watch. The kojima one last time seemed way too on purpose. Time to see if the legend continues

In for nothing of substance actually being said, and everyone on both sides claiming a 'win' regardless regarding exclusivity.

This is absolutely going to be a backslapping exercise (deservedly so) and they'll save the detail for when they actually have consoles to sell. It is always enjoyable to see people port begging even if it's just for gimped versions though, so long may that continue.
