I haven't bought a single game on steam since I got gamepass on my PC .. there is just so much entertainment on there that I don't see the point in spending extra money

The "few" who want to use it? You must love longer queues and matchmaking times or have no friends on opposite systems. This is something that should have happened 10 years ago for third party titles. People shouldn't have had to drop an additional $500 just to play with their friends.
crossplay between Xbox and PlayStation is fine, PC though, no chance.
sorry but if your a PC gamer and want to play with friends on console, then buy a console.
console and PC crossplay is one of the industry's worst decisions, yes you can disable but, but the majority don't realise, so if you disable it your then in a position where most the pool of players on your platform are infact not in your pool.
should be off as default, then at least you are able to play with pc friends if that's what you decide

How often are you playing with pc players. Just because they use mouse and keyboard means they are god tier. I suck for example with a mouse and keyboard.
I look at other games with cross play with pc, more often times than not it's a health mix of PS5 and XSX with the occasional PC player. Not every PC player is a cheater etc etc. you can beat people with a controller.

I'm sure the 2000 odd console players that really care alot about this will enjoy playing the same people over and over for the first month before giving up and switching it back on again.
waiting times has usually only been a PC issue, and so PC players get to keep all the perks of running a PC and piggyback of the console player base.
before crossplay, it used to be a case of getting out skilled by another player under similar circumstances, now it's a case of, KB+M, FOV, FPS etc, then the extra hackers that come with it, also graphics settings, some were setting the graphics so low you could easily spot other players as the environments Vegetation
Take it you seen the warzone video of console vs PC and the FOV advantage?
PC players get all the positives and non of the negatives in crossplay, we console players get the crap end of the stick.
if I was head of PlayStation I'd reinstate the anti crossplay attitude they once had and put an end to this B.S, shame they bowed to the pressure
Yes because that makes perfect sense, put aside the fact I've been a console game my whole life, and go join a platform I have zero interest in
it just seems daft to me that a PC player, would expect to be able to with console players.

Sony bowed to the pressure because there is huge demand for crossplay so don't expect it to simply go away. In fact crossplay will be in every competitive game going forward.
PC players are switching to controllers to get that sweet aim assist and you complain about "advantages". Yes PC gaming has higher fov, fps etc of course it's the best way to enjoy video games.
Anyway, crossplay on/off don't matter mate you still going to suck and without pc players you won't have anyone to blame but yourself so just get on with it.

I don't even get the issue people have with crossplay. I've played BF1 & BFV on PC for several years with an Xbox One controller and still managed to comfortably finish top 10 on a server most times. Knowing the best positions on a map & being mindful of the flow of battle is what counts more than turning on a dime with a KB/M, you can still MVP a match just by doing what you're supposed to be doing as a medic, support etc It's honestly not that difficult.

As I said above, Xbox and PS crossplay is fine, as they are generally closed systems, i draw the line though at PC, and I bet if you articulated the pro's and con's of PC crossplay to every console player out there on the startup screen, then I wouldn't be having this discussion.
as for your final paragraph, I won't be crying Myself to sleep over how good or bad I am, besides if PC players feel the need to switch input method to go along with all the other advantages they have, well, I guess that speaks volumes
because on one hand, you have someone who has friends playing on a completely different platform, well I guess in that case that person has chosen the wrong platform don't you, it's a classic case of choosing your cake and eating it.
On the other hand, your suggesting I go from console to PC, to use an input method alien to me, in order to be on a level footing to players I believe I shouldn't be contending with in the first place.
IMO I see a difference in that

either way, crossplay is here to stay. i don't mind having the option to turn it off, but saying people should buy consoles to play with their friends is just silly

Why is it silly, up until the last couple of years, that's just the way it's been, you choose to be able to maximise each games potential FPS/Res, at the expense of smaller player base and friends on the other platforms.
There's a nice little way out of this, and that's to have it set to OFF as default, that way for those of you with friends on PC, you can turn it on and enjoy the game with said friends, this way it's not condemning the rest of us to all the other agro that comes with it, or even better Have "console" crossplay default ON, with the option to include PC as off

I really hate how console gamers play shooters. For some reason crossplay made CoD more frustrating than it already was.
Also, I've said this before, any input device used to control video games that needs computer assistance to aim in a shooter is trash.

i don't know what you mean by this, since PC is almost as popular as all consoles combined. you're much more likely to have friends on PC and higher playerbase
how about games just start supporting mouse and keyboard on console and disable aim assist. then you have no excuse

Do you have any experience with crossplay? I have a group of friends and we only play crossplay games and I can tell you that its very balanced. Sweaty console guys are on par with sweaty pc guys, sweaty console guys destroy average PC guys etc.
You may not believe me but that's how it is. It also matches all the evidence around with sweaty console and PC streamers being on par with each other. You can play at 240 fps and 120 fish eye FOV and a sweaty kid at 30fps will destroy you every time.
So basically your solution is to give PC players an even bigger advantage, pratically force the console users onto a M+KB, the same device you most likely grew up using, and at the same time remove a system the devs thought
Necessary to give to controller players in order to stand a chance.

I'm sure there are console users destroying PC players, there's such a wide level of skill between the best and very worse on each platform, that this is bound to happen.
but I'm sorry, but I don't believe for a second that a similarly skilled console player, is on the same level field as the equally skilled Pc gamer, using an all the bells and whistles PC, do you?, and considering we get skill based matchmaking these days it emphasises the issue

Console gamers need to accept that competitive gaming with shooters isn't a thing on consoles. It's basically a arcade. So the whole competitive argument can go out of the window directly.
The biggest problem as PC gamer i have with consoles however is that every single game gets boggled down to there shit control outputs that can't coop with anything. Games are designed around it these days in order to even be playable on these consoles. So if both control layouts are the same, they might as well crossplay at that point.

Its pointless, as the PC version is already boggled down to be a console game or else console game will straigtht up be unplayable.
Better crossplay to get more players going for both solutions, because 128 servers aren't going to be filled for shit most of the time. This is also why they prevent you to see people on the tab screen and why AI are introduced.
And with the competitive argument out of the way for consoles, just have some fun and there you go. A game with auto aim assist for controllers in it is never going to be a competitive game.

You can see the old player list by pressing options and then going to "Players and Squads". AI with crossplay will be very rare though. I didn't encounter a single AI when I played the Beta.

They may change this or give players the option to play together but they already said new gen will play in a separate state from last gen to allow new gen to have the larger maps with 128 players

I do because I witness it every time I play with my friends and in a variety of games. The advantags you speak of are mostly nice conveniences. Yes 30 fps to 60 fps makes a difference on your skill but above that not really, it just feels nice. Large FOV is not there to give you an advantage, it's there because small FOV will give you nasty nausea on a monitor. Large FOV actually has its drawbacks as it makes you lose focus and adversely affects spotting things that are at long distances. Utra wide monitors have huge FOVs and pro gamers stay far away from them.

The way the tweet read was PS5 played in its own state as well as Xbox Series consoles they had they own state
All other consoles seemed to be lumped together
Its something I have seen asked several times if the older consoles can play each other why can't these new gen consoles as far as I know they havent given an answer to this
