i wish game companies forced the directors to open up metacritic on review day (on video), like Corey Balrog did for GOW.

It was wonderful to see the emotion from Corey.....u could hear how all the hard work on long days and stress were worth it.

But i want the opposite. I want to see the ppl realizing they wasted years on a game that bombs

It would have tolerable in a scenic walk-n-talk or just as a random traversal banter, but a fucking cutscene for this?

This might be the most pathetic thing ive seen on NeoGAF in a very very long time.

This is why devs dont want to interact with gamers.....people like this guy.
He actively want to see devs feeling bad their game isnt being received well.

I dont think ive been this disappointed in GAF before....such a low low thing to say considering there are gamedevs on this very forum.
Fucking weak.
If the game doesnt interest you....move along.
 
This is symptomatic of SquareEnix failing to really impress outside of its well-established circuit (FF, FF MMO, Kingdom Hearts, DQ)...
Also, this could very well be it for Luminous Productions.
 
So another game that has a "strong female character" whose whole personality is based on acting like an unlikeable, unfunny brat and saying fuck a million times per second? Personally, I'm shocked by these news, it's like these characters are all written by the same kind of people or something

What the writers of similar media dont get is that empowerment doesn't need to come from big shot anti-authority attitudes. But's its the easiest way to relate to teens and young adults (be edgy and cool like talking back to their parents at the dinner table).

it was an innocuous, interesting thing i thought for a half a second and posted. . U getting ur panties in a wad, is a U problem. not a me problem. Its a joke. I know ppl aren't allowed to be funny in the year of our lord 2023 anymore.
if this hurts ur feelings im sure resetera would like some new members.

the game does interest me. I have a PS5. i use mainly for exclusives. I've played the demo. I didn't hate it. Thought it was okayish but empty and boring. I haven't even read or watched 1 review yet. I just saw this thread and ppl all predicting 60s and checked the metacritic

Whedon had boundaries and knew when to use that kind of dialogue and when to get serious, his characters weren't a fucking meme like most modern characters. These new morons took something Whedon did intelligently and smeared it all over modern characters like a child with a paint brush. It's not Whedon's fault modern entertainment is a joke that only boosts talentless hacks.
 
Good predicting gaffers. Lots of you got it right in the 60s range. I had it at low 70s, so unless a big wave of 90/100 scores come in to boost the score this game will die in the 60s.
 
As expected, the demo was, in fact, indicative of the final product. What a shocker. /s

I am grateful they put a demo out for us to try because it definitely helped me dodge a bullet.

It's not even the dialog that killed it for me -- I can mute that entirely if I so choose. But what I couldn't mute was the lackluster visuals, the periodic input lag, the rote combat and world design. Nothing about the demo felt like a current gen game and now that we're seeing the full, final, product I can safely say the same holds true. Put against Horizon Forbidden West or God of War Ragnarok, this decidedly looks and plays like a last gen game. The only thing it has going for it is load times.

When even DF points out that there are places where it looks like a PS3 title... oof. If it's something you enjoy, more power to you. But gaming is too expensive a hobby for me to drop $70+ on this mediocrity.
 
Aside from the dialogue, this game just doesn't look interesting to me. I was watching some gameplay and it's large open areas with little in them and the visuals are pretty mediocre as well, so it can't get by on having beautiful environments that are nice to look at while mindlessly going from one part of the map to the other.
 
Not sure if this is a bad game or journalists pissed and rating it lower because they had to buy their own copies.

That is a good point. To be fair to SE, they put out a lackluster demo. Surprising since not a lot of games get demos anymore, so you would had thought they'd bury the idea and just surprise preorder gamers with the final build.

What kind of lame are you? Making games is hard. Very hard. People don't go in wanting to make a terrible game.
 
Watched a few vids so it's like a cross between Zero Dawn, Second sun and a Ubisoft game but only the bad parts…

Fucking winner
