Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth New Trailer Revealed, Coming in Early 2024 on 2 Discs | Summer Game Fest 2023

All I saw was a game trailer, in 2023, with a wild appearance of thin waist, pronounced hips, and a mini-skirt. That's basically 3/4 of the way to day 1 these days.

Looks good, still curious about the world map but not going to be something that bugs me too much.

Hope they go real crazy with the story.

HOLY SHIT. This is going to fucking rule.

Does anyone know how they'll be handling the leveling? Will you start back on level 1? I can't imagine you'll be able to import saves since many maxed out their characters in FF7R and it would make Rebirth a breeze.

I'm assuming 2 discs because it will be loaded with pre-rendered cutscenes. Kind of a cop out to get the game out faster but I would like to see this end on PS5 and not go into PS6.

The first one didn't really have many cgi. I think only the opening and the ending has cgi. Maybe when the pizza slice fell and that was it?

The open-world area will be full of pop-ins. At 0:50 you can see the shadows forming in front of view (due to a low shadow cascade). You can also easily notice the LOD issues of distant objects (like grass, flowers, etc) a few seconds earlier (right after Cloud opens the door and we get to see the open area). So, don't expect "next-gen" graphics like UE5. This appears to look similar to FF VII Remake, but with an open-world area. So, don't get overhyped about its graphics. They are great, but they feel the same as those of Spider-Man 2.

It still needs a bit more polish, though.
Yeah not gonna lie, FF16 doesnt look too great in some of the outdoor sections, at least when it comes to the foilage. Maybe Square struggles a bot with that kind of stuff. But I stopped caring too much about graphics these days. The characters look amazing, so do the animations and as long as the door textures load in properly I am A-OK.

I don't understand, is it the next part of the previous episodic remake? What bits does it include vs the original full game? Does it include the previous remake bits (and if so remastered/upgraded to standard)? Or is it a new full remake?

Hm.. thought it would be a traditional turn-based rpg.

Looked like some realtime turn based mix or am I just seeing what I want to see here?

Where TF have you guys been the last like six years.

The vegetation also doesnt move or reacts. Looked pretty rough

And there was nothing really shown past the cargo ship except for the reunion stuff

And Yuffie and Red XIII playable 😀

Why is the 2 disc thing that big a surprise? Remake was on 2 discs.
Probably because PS5 supports triple layer bluray with 100gb capacity while PS4 was 50gb max. If it was just some few GBs over 100 then it would just need a day one download to play like some Switch games.

Can we figure out how far the game is taking us? I see Junon, the Jenova fight (ship I guess), Cosmo Canyon. It'll probably end at Temple of the Ancients?

I can't even collect my thoughts right now, can't believe how good that looked, time to continue through Remake to be ready for this!
