Spider-Man looks like the same game they released a few years ago. I played the first one and after around 10 hours dropped it. However, I appreciate that traversal in Spider-Man is a ton of fun.

Starfield actually looks interesting and actually ambitious.

Starfield, by a long way.
The amount of time I will spend in that game, building and exploring, outside the actual campaign, is going to be far more than the whole campaign in Spider-Man 2.

Spiderman is just going to be more of the same with better graphics while Starfield is more exciting overall and i love space more than superheroes.

Hyped for neither, but i will be checking Starfield on PC, because I can get month of gamepass for 1€.
All the games Im hyped for are releasing early next year. Like a Dragon 2, FF7 a SH2 remake (rumored)...

Hyped for neither but I will be playing Starfield this year. Spiderman 2 probably never. Don't own a console.

Best to not get hyped for Bethesda games.

Both look great, you can play both back to back and not feel fatigued. I'm glad they aren't similar. Who the fuck wants to play the same games all the time.

Starfield because I love everything about traveling on other planets, etc. The game looks awesome.

I also liked de Spider-Man games, they're very basic but they are pleasant to play, so yeah I'll get the SM2 gapes but probably not on day one.

They're 1A and 1B for me. I'm pretty maximally hyped for both. I think Starfield will probably be the more serious GOTY contender but I really vibe with the Insomniac Spider-Man games.

Starfield and it's not even close. Spider Man was fun but got a bit tedious. I never bothered with MM. I'll play 2, but in a few years I reckon

I don't agree that Spiderman 2 would be 'forgotten within a month', but sales don't always translate to lasting presence in gaming discourse.
I don't see any excited threads about mega seller Hogwarts Legacy these days, for example.

I don't really see this as a problem though, even a game as massive as TotK is seeing the same effect.

I just don't think stuff like Skyrim exists anymore. Too much competition vying for everyone's time.

More hyped for Starfield. New IP. More ambitious. Love the space setting and the freedom it's supposed to evoke. Could be a game of the gen contender if Bethesda sticks the landing. Spiderman 2 looks cool and will surely be a great game, but I recently played the first one and Miles Morales so I'm pretty good for now. I will wait for it to come down in price.

This is an apples vs oranges question. It's like asking what you're more excited for madden or assassins creed. The only reason this is being asked is to stoke box wars

Spiderman 2 obviously.

I'm not interested in more Bethesda jank

You're more interested in yet another bland Ubisoft style open world that's littered with icons: enemy strongholds. multiple collectibles, the same half dozen "side-missions" in each neighborhood, communication towers to unlock neighborhood data?

I'll take new "Bethesda jank" over the same, nearly 15 year old, open world tedium design that just happens to have a Spider-Man skin on it. If Spider-Man 2 was being made by Ubisoft, people would be shitting all over it for being "another Far Cry clone", and you know it. Same as they did with Watch_Dogs. Same as they're doing with the upcoming Avatar game.

Starfield is a new game with a new world to explore where Spider-man 2 will be the third game in this series I will have played.

Based on that alone, Starfield wins by a mile. I just played MM recently so that will hold me over on Spider-man until it gets a nice price cut. With that said, Insomniac does great work on these games, I'm sure Spider-man 2 will be great.

Sold my X a while back, but I'm hoping starfield does good.
Watching MS stumble around leading to them needing to buy up market shares has been sad.

I miss a "neither of them" option. I want to see the results so i clicked spiderman, because im looking forward to it, a little bit. For Starfield my hype is 0. Its just not my kinda game.

Starfield, simply because Spiderman 2 is going to have forced segment where you have to follow a npc, making the experience super boring, enemies dumb A.I and it will be a turd.

Starfield.
It could be the sci-fi game i've always wanted.

I'll also play spiderman 2 because i liked the first game and kinda liked miles morales.
The side quests were boring, i hope it will be better this time.

I find it interesting that people think Starfield is gonna be so popular when the last few Bethesda games weren't that good. I'm gonna vote Baldurs Gate 3 and Tears of the Kingdom, Street Fighter 6, and Spider Man 2. Starfield is giving me slight Duke Nukem Forever vibes. Ot kindnof bothers me that it releases next month yet has no demo, hasn't been shown much, hasn't gone gold and has a veil of secrecy around it when Microsoft itself is not very secretive when their games don't have problems.

Bethesda Games Studio games are some of the best selling and most played games of all time. Period. They are plenty popular. Even that aside, Bethesda as a publisher has plenty of titles that are still extremely popular and played right this moment, Elder Scrolls Online and Doom Eternal are both good examples.

It's been an incredible year for games. Baldur's Gate 3 will hold my attention for a long time, I'm sure I'm gonna love Starfield, but it won't hurt anything for me to wait and just get lost in Baldur's Gate 3 for the next few months. Tears of the Kingdom is probably the single best game of all time in my opinion. There doesn't need to be a single winner, everyone gets' to win in this scenario.

You did not mention fallout 76 when Fallout 4 wasn't as good as Fallout New Vegas. Redfall was trash, and Deathloop was average. Haven't played ghostwire tokyo yet. Didn't care for Doom Eternal. Bethesda as a whole are above average at best.
