Serious opinion about Dunkey here:
This is a masterful video and might be one of his all time best. He managed to make fun of every. single. audience. By using their own words and footage.
-The people who get way too upset by the addition of pronoun options and other stuff related to this
-The people who bash the game who haven't played it or barely played it at all(following negative crowd opinion)
-The people who overly defend the game, disregarding all shortcomings
-The people who see both sides
-The people who say 'game gets good after ___ hours'
-The No Man's Sky/Star Citizen comparers
-The older, out of touch people who think it's the second coming because they haven't played many games
-The industry journalists who have made multiple errors over the years when covering games
-Developers who promise too much
-Publisher PR and their tricky wording
-People who expected this to not be a Bethesda game
-People who expected this to be the exact same Bethesda game
-Industry leaders who give odd reasoning for the current, fluctuating state of quality in the AAA space
-Gamers who do more complaining about bad, than celebrating the good about game releases(part of GAF is guilty of this)
-And finally, the flip floppers who keep seeing impressions and review scores go up and down, to determine how they should view this game overall.

I mean, It's obvious virtue signaling forcing a pronoun selection in the character creation screen. That said, I ensured it said "he/him" cause I was playing as a dude and moved the fuck on with my life. It being in a videogame is not the end of the world, roll your eyes and move on.

He's one of those grifting dudes that constantly shits on Disney, the MCU and Star Wars. And yes, all of those mostly suck or are mediocre (today), but these dudes make a living off of constantly bashing it over and over again. Sometimes just feels like they get to the point of looking for the smallest things to get offended about.
Like, I don't give two shits about pronouns and think it's stupid personally, but I'd never risk an aneurysm or heart attack shouting about it in some rant. Just move on to literally anything else with your character and get on with the actual game.
That said, the glitches I've been seeing in this game are amazing and hilarious. Legit funny shit, all unintended. I kinda like all the jank for that reason alone.

He has obviously given up on his life a long time ago to go on such a tragic rant, I wouldn't want to be seen with him irl. However, when the internet tells me to love or hate someone, I go the source and listen to what the person has to say:
I watched the first minutes in which he talks about the rant and I get his point. Pronouns next to names is shit you only see on twitter. It's just missing a Bio under the character's name with "I hate JK Rowling #bekind". That would also break my immersion in a game. "It's just pronouns" is an argument that doesn't work either, it shuts down any conversation. You give an inch to the woke mob and in Elder Scrolls VI you'll be given options to bark and meow.
I don't agree with the thing he said next about the clone character, there's no reason on why that wouldn't be part of the world of Starfield and didn't watch the rest.
All in all, the guy is just a product of social media and knows what his followers want to see. I wish both sides could have respectful debates as kids on this video, it's a shame we'll never see the bald guy and the trump screaming woman in the same space.

Nah, it's not just something you see on twitter. I see it in email signatures quite often now. It affects my life not one jot. It is just pronouns. If someone you care about ever comes out as trans, it might take you a little while to adjust to the idea, but they're still the person you cared about, and presumably you'd be able to handle substituting a word if they asked to be called "They" instead of "She."
I'm glad that Bethesda made this TINY gesture to make their game slightly more enjoyable for people who are often overlooked and if people think one option of a thousand on a menu shatters their immersion, well, tough because this is going to be the default pretty soon. If your sense of immersion is so fragile, wait until you see that there's a pause screen, that you can die and be resurrected, reload to a moment earlier in your life, or eat an apple without chewing, the game will be ruined.
