No Man's Sky Worlds Part I Update Revealed

I struggle to think of any other game that's undergone such a fundamental transformation since its launch, to the point where the only thing it shares, is the name.

Ok, bro just needs to chill now... You're redeemed!

Sea of Thieves is probably the closest thing I can think of. I'm gonna give NMS another shot. This looks great.

I already enjoyed the game back when released, spent there many hours until got tired of it.

It must be amazing nowadays after the gazillion improvements and additions they implemented. Specially in VR, where I never played it. The game already is very inmersive, in VR must be stunning.

This looks like mostly a cosmetic update, which is nice, but it doesn't address what so many find boring about the game. Waiting for the one combat/AI/multiplayer update that really ties it all together. Still fun to see them keep working at it. GAAS makes for better games.

All of the additions to this game have been very welcome but I feel like with them it has become way too complicated.

It's essentially at the point of Minecraft, Tarkov or Day Z now where there are hundreds of things that you can do, yet you have to scour Google to figure out what the majority of them are unfortunately.

These guys could have stopped 2 years ago and we would have appreciated what they did to this game. But they just kept going. One of my favourite studios.

Cool thing about this is they're getting to test out the new systems and technologies they're building for Light No Fire in a live environment.

Universe refresh apparently. Wow, I didn't think they would do that again.

I'm excited to see what it's like. However, the cool Paradise planet my main base is on could be completely different now.(likely considering past Universe refresh)

I was in the middle of my first save file, and I haven't played in a while, but with content still flowing at a regular pace I might as well hold off continuing until they're done - if they ever will be. I can't imagine I'll want to play again, I've spent a lot of time on this save already.

I started a new playthrough. No significant gameplay changes from the beginning. The water looks nice! Some tree and plant textures looks worse than before, blurry. Storms looks much more impactful with animated trees. You start in third person view, I think that's new.

Did every planet get altered or are only some changed?
On my old save one planet I had a base on was changed too much. On another it looked the same. New animals, one was a gigantic Starship Trooper like beetle. Turned out it was peaceful, would've been a cool mount but I started over on a fresh save before taming it.

Yeah, seems like most of the planets my bases were on are not changed. Only a few have different flora and fauna and none so far have their terrain altered.

I assume, since this is called part 1, the rest will slowly change as well

My God... this will continue to be the VR universe to go back to on PSVR2... Absolutely gorgeous and mesmerizing experience.

Nothing gives the experience to be lost in an immensity like this game does in VR.

I'd argue FF 14 but NMS is beating that ass pretty easily considering how anyone who bought a copy and stuck with it definitely has gotten more than it's asking price.

Did they improve the VR quality? I tried it at launch and it looked really fuzzy compared to the other games I played at the time

I see there's still pop-in which kinda kills it for me.

Hows performance with this update - it was never amazing to begin with and im guessing with all the new efx, there'll be a hit? :messenger_mr_smith_who_are_you_going_to_call:

Now it's completely another thing, after they implemented foveated rendering. Sharp and detailed. At least on PSVR2, the version I tried.

Regular update.

This seems like more than their typical updates though in last couple years. A complete Universe refresh, new biomes, new fauna and flora.

I wasn't expecting huge updates and a universe refresh anymore honestly. Especially since they are working on a new game.

I still remember the game at launch in 2016. Very little of that vanilla game even exists anymore.
