Wait a few hours for m@!#$%$#*&ing shaders to build! Such fun!! It has to happen with any new game updates, gpu updates, and even some windows updates.

There has to be a better way to tackle this. Its literally making me lean towards buying more games on consoles.

So. You would rather play inferior version than waiting 10 mins give or takes for shaders and games to be updated or new drivers .

The only reason I have a PS5 is because of GT7. And final fantasy rebirth . Both gets announced to PC and I am going to be console free this generation as I’ll sell my remaining console and never looking back

Buying Xbox and to some extend a PS5 this gen is probably the biggest mistakes I made this gen just because of hype at release.

Absolute shit show from these 2 companies .

One was trying so hard to win by buying everything possible just to spread its legs like a whore after the last purchase and instead of showing what exclusives you get if you join that eco system , they ended up releasing all their games on other platforms.

The other is absolutely greedy bastard of a company that charges full price for 3 or 4 years old ports on PC ( not to mention the quantity of IPs they are developing is laughable compared to what they used to make )

Both companies management needs to be fired. Like not just normal firing too. No . Boots up the ass and out of the window fired.

Bring back the PS2 days and Xbox 360 or even pS4.

Maybe it’s an AMD thing, cuz I got 5700 x3D and 5800. But even when I had an i5 and 1070 it still took a while on FH3

But i never played forza or tlou.

Maybe OP can go outside and touch grass while the shaders compile because there are really bigger fuckin problems. I’d rather the game take longer to launch than to have constant stutter throughout. Maybe go make a sandwich or do laundry or take a shower while you wait. I’m sure there’s SOMETHING productive you could do that you were going to have to do later anyway.

Only games that takes a long ass time to build shaders are TLoU and Uncharted 4. The rest of them get it done in 20 seconds.

Only game of those I've played was Dragon's Dogma 2 and those shaders took at most 2 minutes to build.

any of these games barring forza ( that ones super long) can be literally average 10 to 15 mins per game for anyone with a decent hardware and much longer for those who don't.. so yes its a huge pain in the ass.

Responses in this thread claim that generally Compiling Shaders can take upto a couple of minutes max (in worse case) and so there may potentially be something wrong with OP's PC. Well PC is my favorite platform along side the switch..

Plus I have two different gaming pcs that do nothing but play games. It is the same for both. So instead of coming up with a fantasy scenario to satisfy your famboyism... just take the points .. say yes it's annoying... it's easy.

Hes on about Forza Motorsport, while that game is a mess the shader compilation doesn't take very long at all.

I just booted Forza up, it took literally longer to sign into xboxlive than it did to compile the shaders. Like 20 seconds max.

TBF, Forza has a bug where the shaders are always compiling at launch even if you haven't done a GPU driver update. The game's performance path has been one step forward, two steps back with each update. Total mess.
