It's a toggle in the character creator that you very easily can avoid. None on that is forced on you, there's no glowing arrows forcing you to look at it. It's not mandatory by any means. And while that's likely trans coded, quite an appreciable number of women undergo mastectomy to fight breast cancer. A friend had one some years ago…sadly still passed away when the cancer came back.

I have no idea if this game will succeed or fail but it's going to be such a fascinating train smash to watch. I think that like with BG3 the promise of all that companion sex is probably going to get a lot of people to excuse the heavy layer of woke shit smeared over everything. I think this game is going to be far more unhinged than BG3 though if the surgery scars are anything to go by.

At some point these gaming studios are going to have to wake up and realise you can't let your developers' insane politics and twisted perversions overshadow the games they make. Easily ignored character creation toggle, but kind of ridiculous to include in a medieval fantasy game. There is no such thing as trans top surgery without modern medical science, so it's not a sensible extension of the game lore at all. The game director is a trans woman though, so I suppose that supersedes any other considerations.

I think there's a significant difference, though. The former group had moral outrage over the content in games and wanted it removed. The mentality is, "if I don't like it, nobody can have it." The reaction, which you're seeing now in places like GAF, is really just mocking developers' attempts to go overboard in pandering to this weird crowd. I don't think anyone's really saying that you shouldn't be allowed to have a "chop your tits off" slider, but it's a little fucking silly that it's there. People who like that shit - go ahead and play the game. Ain't nobody saying it should be banned. But you have to admit that it's funny how over-the-top dumb the attempts to cater to this miniscule demographic have gotten.

Now yes, people are hoping this game - and basically any other Western AAA with this sort of ham-fisted attempt at inclusion - fails. But it's not because of the "cut your tits off" slider, it's because when you see something really weird and oh-so-progressive like that, it tends to coincide with a half-baked game that absolutely misses the mark as a good video game. Like they forgot about the part that actually matters. Some games can back it up - namely stuff like The Last of Us Part II - but a hell of a lot of them this year in particular have gone so far off the rails with the agenda that there's no redeeming qualities as actual video games left. I think the environmental stuff looks amazing same with the character creator, but I feel everything else the way its presented very much looks Mid

Even the trailers talking about the overall plot do not give a interesting threat, like Oblivion with the gates or Skyrim with the dragons

You get scars during battles, it doesn't make you think about a fucking modern surgery like breast removing in a fantasy world because battles and wars are something that can happen everywhere in every world.

These ideas have existed in Dragon Age for a long time, so if anything is hurting DA, it is Bioware themselves in terms of a lot of their flops over the generation, I don't know if I can say THIS exact option or something would be it.

Yeah, I'm not sure what they were thinking with this one. Quidditch always seemed more like a mini-game thing to me. Harry Potter based games should be based around wizards and magic and going around and doing cool stuff in the world, and Quidditch should be one of those things. not to derail -- who cares? Really. If the game is fun are an optional customization really going to affect the story? gameplay? This probably took someone on the design team a couple days to put in? Like it's a scar on a skin. Character Customization is not going to be the problem this game has.
