You're eternally salty

No, just logically consistent. Unlike a lot of people here

I thought those PlayStation showcases where they showed stellar blade, monster hunter, resident evil, silent hill 2, etc were great but you have a huge swath of people shitting on them

2 of the 4 games they showed were XGS published.

Stop being so salty, Jim. Be happy that you'll get to play them too.

Easy A. Only South of Midnight had me pesimistic before the show and that was better than I expected. Only have some issues with the framerate, but there is time to smooth that out. If intentional, hopefully they add an option to turn it off

Edit: Exp 33 was a nice surprise as well since I haven't really been following or knew much about it. Now give me some skimpy costumes for the ladies

Doom looks awesome. Can always rely on Doom.

The rest seem like they can go either way. Apparently you can play South of Midnight without the Stop Motion shit so that should be a fun game to try out.

I'm surprised at the NG4 reaction, I must have been the only one who felt underwhelmed when I saw Platinum Games attached to it, but I guess people are pretending to love them again now.

Finally happened, Xbox showing more games I'm interested than Sony does.

I'm still mostly gonna buy them for my PS5

Everything seemed good production wise, even South of Midnight was pretty charming.

Now if i have to get into specifics, i'm not very interested in South of Midnight and i'm a little worried about the direction of Doom.

But it was a great dev direct, the releases are close.

Just the Ninja Gaiden 4 + NG2 announcement is enough for me to give an A, because there's not a lot of things that excite me in the current gaming landscape and it definitely does. Even though i know it's going to be a Platinum Games Ninja Gaiden and not a real NG4, i'm still very hyped.

edit : obviously i'm not taking into account the fact Xbox is not making exclusives anymore

Gave it a C, based on my personal preferences alone, because there wasn't anything for me.

(1) I don't like what new iD has done with Doom and they just can't leave the formula that was successful in the 90s alone. They have to keep tweaking and adding and it all comes out lesser than.

(2) I'm excited for Ninja Gaiden fans, but I always found the games too difficult for me.

(3) The Expedition game is a no go, because I don't want to play someone else's trauma simulator.

(4) And the southern game just has no appeal to me from what I could see in the gameplay and the story.

That being said, this was a way better event than anything Sony has done in the last few years. But that's faint praise because Sony has been in the absolute shitter this generation.

My expectations were humble so I was greatly suprised, not because NG4 but because it's a collaboration between Team Ninja and Platinum, also the fact that this is going to be published by XGS this means day 1 on Game Pass. Also as a bonus they shadow dropped NG2 Black.

The rest of the games looked amazing, specially Doom, and it seems we will only have to wait for April which is not that far

Never in my life did I think we would see 3 Ninja Gaiden releases in one year. Ninja Gaiden Revengeance makes this an easy A on it's own, but 2 Black would've done it too.

SoM will most likely be super woke, so that's a skip.

Ninja Gaiden anything and I'm all in. 11/10, shadow drop makes it 20/10

Doom, I could never get into the last 2, but Army of Darkness is my favorite Evil Dead, so I'm potentially interested. Not my favorite genre though. This is basically Borderlands 4 level to me, which ain't bad. Could be a fun time.

Expedition 33 I've seen before and do want.

Amount of content: 4/10
Quality of Content: 9/10
New Announcement: Yes, plus a shadowdrop! (10/10)

4+9+10 = 23

23/30 = 76.666%

76/100 = C

The show got a C instead of an A because it only shows a small amount of content, but the amount of content shown is very good. I could bump it to a B though because most of the stuff is coming out soon, so I'm gonna round up.

Final Score = 8/10 or a B rating.

An A rating would need 2-4 more games to be shown.

Unfortunately normal distribution signifies it wasnt remarkable.

All the games looked great to me but what's with that weird stop motion effect they are using for South of Midnight? That's really jarring to me and might actually have to pass on it because of that.

That's an A from me.

Undoubtedly A. This is not even a debate.

Probably the best fucking show they have had in a very long time.

And the greatest fucking shadow drop in Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, ever. Even bigger than Hi-Fi Rush.

Didn't watch it live but looking at the recap I'd say a solid A.
It did a good job getting me more excited about the games we already knew about (specifically Expedition 33 and Doom).

But really it's that Ninja Gaiden 4 announcement that elevates it.
Not just the announcement itself but how it was handled
- Reveal trailer with tons of gameplay
- Coming later this year
- Goes straight into devs talking about the game and giving further details about the gameplay
- Ends with a nice bonus releasing as a shadow drop.

THAT'S how games should be announced. None of this "in-engine cinematic trailer.... please look forward to the game releasing at some point in the next 4 years".

2025 is crazy…

It is so sad and so poetic that xbox (as a console) is dying on their objectively best generation. Weird how things turned out

C for me, decent showing. Ninja Gaiden 4 looks great, but I will keep my expectations low. Bounced off Doom Eternal hard, it's going to be hard to win back my interest. Not giving the others much attention unless reviews turn out really good.

Weird, I assumed Concord shills like yourself had higher standards than Xbox games. Remember way back when Sony made good games?

Solid B. With only 4 games and one of them being a stinker I can't go with an A. But the 3 games that were great were really great. Presentation could've been better, less people walking through corridors and talking about how IMPORTANT it is for them to join the project or whatever. Solid B.

Erm, It's a Developer Direct. That's the whole point.

Damn Ninja Gaiden 4 looks like it could be a PS4/XB1 game. I imagine this means it will eventually come to Switch 2 as well.

Solid B. Which is good IMO, feel like I rarely give these shows a B, even when the respective fanbases (Nintendo especially) are over the moon and giving A+'s due to the reveal of Princess Peach Dress-Up Adventure 3 or whatever.

South of Midnight artstyle looks good, but the game overall I'm not really draw to.
Clar Obscur looks interesting.
Doom looks really fun, and is one of the only near-day 1 games for me personally.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is a very good reveal, and an obvious day 1. Those games are tons of fun and I will buy and play it... but at the same time looks very cross-gen. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I think hating on cross-gen is wildly overblown on this forum... but it does feel like a real missed opportunity to make it more visually impactful.

I detest Gamepass on principle, so them being "free" I think is a bad thing for devs and the industry as a whole... but that's a whole other topic.

Solid show.

C.

It shows how mediocre Xbox has become and how they can only rely on nostalgia from the most dedicated fans.

The only reason I didn't give a D is because I somewhat liked the art direction of South of Midnight and Clair Expeditions or whatever it's called.
If they made her look a little sexier. The game would sell.

This should be the standard for all 3.

Shorter to the point. High production value. Focused on games coming out soon and drop some same day releases.
