Vibrant Visuals is our upcoming visual upgrade that might change the way you look at your Minecraft worlds forever! Here's a first look!

We're planning to bring Vibrant Visuals to Java sometime in the future but it will first be available on compatible Bedrock devices in the coming months.

  • Enhanced Lighting & Fog: The update implements volumetric lighting and fog effects, creating a more realistic and atmospheric environment.
  • Improved Visual Fidelity: Dynamic shadows, refined textures, and other visual improvements contribute to a more vibrant and lifelike world.
  • Technical Innovations: Insights into the new rendering techniques explain how these enhancements blend seamlessly with Minecraft's signature style.
  • Player Experience: The update is aimed at elevating gameplay, inviting players to explore a refreshed, more visually engaging version of Minecraft.

just got back into mc. java edition or nothing though. bedrock sucks imo
Agreed, but no worries OptiFine_HD mod works well even on a potato laptop (AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U in my) and has decent MC visuals for me when my youngest needs me to help her with something on her papermc (Spigot based) java server running on Raspberry Pi400

Slightly annoying you'd have to run an older build of paper mc 1.20.4 IIRC currently for OptiFine mod as it needs ported each time, AFAIK, but I think the new bedrock look isn't as good as optifine on my workstation with all the features turned on, and is probably only on par with these potato shots.

This time it better release
Looks good but whatever happened to the RT release?
That was silently canned about three years after it was announced

Edit: I may be thinking of the 4k texture/lighting pack they announced back when the xbox one x was revealed

Hope it comes to the Series S because my kid would like this, but I won't hold my breath.
I just have Java on PC so shaders are easy.

It looks worse. Games with simplistic graphics like Minecraft don't need all of that. In fact, their graphics will always look best without it.

What a laggy mess on series x. Tried it today and was as very disappointed! The lag introduced is gamebraking.

Like a second input lag. What the hell!

Are these common problems?

Vibrant Visuals is Minecraft's biggest official visual refresh. Coming initially to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, join the Mojang developers as they discuss the vision behind this visual overhaul, the road to getting it ready for Bedrock Edition, and what's coming next!
Vibrant Visuals requires Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and supported device. Coming in the future for Minecraft: Java Edition. All sold separately. At launch, some Marketplace content won't be compatible with Vibrant Visuals.

OK, I did a fresh install and tweaking the settings.
Upscaler is the thing. Taau and 75 Percent works with good, not the best reflexions and everything else maxed out. I set the visible range down from max to a little bit fewer chunks. Now it is not as sharp as native, but it rund very good and sold.

Nice to have but a little bummer that we have to tweak different graphics options. I don't want to do that on console. I hate that!

If someone figured out another good setting, let me know.
I play on series x
