Sony, Microsoft and Apple all refuse to work with nVidia due to their scummy practices and bad experiences.
Microsoft used nv for the first in the OG xbox, and never again.
Sony used nv in the PS3 for the first time, and never again.
Apple is a slightly different case in that they have to satiate their own thirsty monopolistic desires, but the outcome is the same.
Also, the only GPU manufacturer with a semblance of a conscience and consumer-friendliness in EVGA abruptly shut down their GPU operation to stop having to deal with nvidia.
This is what Linus Torvalds, father of Linux has to say about NVIDIA...
(To be fair, I do realise that Linus has recently said that there has been some improvement with Nvidia, but I digress)
Nintendo is the last major player in the gaming space happy to still be pegged by nvidia, and they're the only major console player to have gone back for seconds.
Consoles are notoriously low-margin, with retailers making only about $5 per console. Nintendo also infamously never sell their hardware at a loss, only to recoup those losses through software sales later - they want to have their cake and eat it too.
However, due to them being bent over a barrel for a second generation running, it's likely their hardware profits are slimmer than previous gens which is why we see them trying to excessively gouge everyone on their software.
Just my two cents.
