What’s up with the forum’s slowness?

The site feels a bit slow post upgrade. Not dealbreaker slow but just enough to be slightly annoying. Has anyone else noticed it?

Where do I go to complain about this? I'd like to speak to the manager.

Might just be a post-upgrade index rebuild, a database maintenance task that can take some time to complete for a big forum and which can make things a little slower at times while it's running.

I doubt they need it but if they need webmaster help I do it for my day job and could do some gratis moonlighting help as necessary.

I am wondering if it is related to the Xeno engine earlier today? All my Xeno forums I visited this morning were all slow as molasses. All my non Xeno forums I frequent were instantly loading.

It can take 5 to 10 seconds to open a link at the moment.. Could someone please reboot the server?

Pretty slow yesterday, faster today.

Also I seem to be having some issues with notifications, don't know if other people are having it or not.

I daily frequent a specific OT and I'm not getting any notifications when people post there.

Any specifics you're unhappy with?
Overall I'd describe the change as going from an E39 M5 to a E60 M5. Some upgrades just don't need to happen, even if the engine is bigger/better.

I'm a near full mobile user. I keep GAF on my short list for Chrome Android. When I clicked on the Chrome icon it used to go directly to the 4 main forum choices: Gaming, OT, etc. Mostly went into OT with occasional Gaming if OT was slow. Now, when I load, I get a features selection and need to go to the icons above. Mostly extra work to get here to OT, less intuitive.

The other thing is while it could be more helpful for some to see how many types of reactions a post gets out front, I enjoyed clicking to see who posted what. In this case, more work was welcomed vs easier to breakdown with less work out front.

Imo, sometimes people enjoy the familiar and predictable. New designs can keep things fresh looking but people may have to readjust themselves and that takes time and risks disengagement. IMO, the last website design was the best I've seen, and that's going as far back as 2001+/-.
