Battlefield 6 Multiplayer reveal - 31st July 2025 (11:30 PT // 14:30 ET // 19:30 UK)

I'm loving the gameplay, closer to BF2 and BF3 infantry speed.

It was never slow, maybe you were playing on a shit PC or a 30fps console back in the day making it feel like a weighty shooter.

Damn, I didn't realize there was so many Limp Bizkit hating soy boys on this forum.

I can already see a lot of people having trouble running this game on PC, due it's requirements, mostly the security with TPM2, Secure Boot, HVCI, VBS.
And the worst part is that HVCI and VBS can cause significant performance losses.
I am pretty sure we will not need HVCI and VBS enabled as I am running 2042 with them off.

Great to see EA and DICE pivot back into the testosterone market, although trailers from them can be deceptive, BF2042 also had a pretty neutral reveal then the actual game was a complete ghey fuckup of enormous proportions.

Tentatively optimistic but fully prepared for typical Swede woke bullshit.
Every BF trailer is hype af, then it comes the realisation, it's either a buggy mess or lacks whatever made the trailer so hype (except for BFV, that was bad from the start), months/years later game gets fixed and people get warmed to it, just before a new BF is about to get announced and the cycle starts again

Gonna wait like usual, BFV and 2042 really tarnished the series for me, always hoping that is great tho

I only just now noticed so I'm sure others didn't see but

They dropped the need for EA/Origin with the Steam release.

I would love to know if it will work on SteamOS since 2042 does not due to anti cheat IIRC.

So far the only disappointing thing is the lack of naval warfare again... Hopefully we get it through seasonal updates later
Good memories of moving the big battleship on Wake Island in the original BF1942. It turned into a jittery mess for everyone onboard, but it seriously impressed me back in the day!

My only complaint from this reveal from what i've seen so far... only 9 maps at launch.

That seems a bit small in today's standards.

Oh well, will deal with it.

We haven't seen the full map roster yet but what they've showed off so far is just depressing and is probably going to ruin the game for me.

- It's mostly small scale urban warfare maps.
- The "open" map they showed off in the mountains is ridiculously small for 64 players.
- 9 maps total yet a complete lack of visual variety (Repeated locations / assets).
- Map count is shockingly bad considering how small the maps seem.
- Dynamic destruction is cool as long as ticket counts are low. Bad Company 2 / BF 3 had huge problems with half the map being gone part way through the match, leaving no cover.
- Was personally hoping for a return of large scale "leveloution" events. Even though they were scripted they brought a lot of change when they happened. Not a deal breaker but sad in combination with the other stuff.
- Edit: Apparently 2 of the 9 maps are infantry only? That's just pathetic for a Battlefield title.

Battlefield to me was special because it represented a bunch of things in a mixed gameplay environment. Urban warfare maps aren't bad for variety but so much we used to have is missing here. I feel kind of gaslit watching everyone else go "Battlefield is back!" when I'm just watching gameplay of Call of Duty with 2 tanks thrown in.

Just saw this is the top seller on Steam at the moment.

Have to say it looks really promising so not surprised in the slightest. Will check out the beta for sure.

BF2042 already requires all of this, I installed it again a few weeks back and had to do some troubleshooting. While searching I saw some posts by people looking for help to get it enabled.

I don't think it's going to be an issue given that TPM is a Windows 11 requirement and if I remember correctly VBS and HVCI started being supported on Intel 8th gen (which is the one in the minimum requirements) and that was released back in 2017.

So the issues might come from people not having those items configured properly.

Regarding HVCI and VBS impacting the performance negatively I'd say it's a true risk for people playing with older conigurations like the ones on a minimum req system.

So I did actually download it and played 2-3 rounds today. It's nice there are still some plenty lively servers to jump in, also kinda weird going back but this time it's effortless smooth 4K@120.
This will do just fine to play some more every now and then while waiting.

Goes to show we never agree on everything, I agree with almost everything you're saying but I love the destruction. Part of what I loved about BC2 and BF3 was that the maps were totally wrecked by the end of the match and there was no cover it required us to play different depending on the map because of this you had to go more into recon in some maps as there was less cover so you had to stay back a bit. I really hope for the same feeling here where heaps of the buildings and cover is totally wrecked later in the maps.

Come on, you don't like playing as Stan Smith or Beavis/Butthead while turning people in skeletons with your pay to win guns? COD has jumped the shark in my opinion and like you I have my fingers crossed that BF6 will be a great game so I can switch, Activision has veered so far off course it isn't even funny.
As I'm writing this, how many concurrent players do you think the last BF game, 2042, has vs the latest COD, Black Ops 6, which straight up fucking rules, by the way.

This hallucinatory reddit bullshit is why BF games started sucking. Like 2042, that game isn't just mid it's progressively unpleasant to play.

If you guys need a platform to jerk off to EA outsource marketing department delusions with hundreds of chatgpt bots, try the BF subreddits.

BF needs to beat indie and mid size games like Squad, Arma Reforger and Hell Let Loose before you even think to start talking about COD. Don't roll with the assumption that this post-awesome iteration of DICE earned the right to even be mentioned in the same discussion as actual no shit LIVING legends like Treyarch.

This will blow COD away on Steam at least. The hype is real. Wouldn't be surprised at 500k CCU plus on these beta weekends. Knock off Battlefield Delta Force easily best COD on the platform.

BLOPS6 I dropped during season 3. The core game is good but the maps were below par, not sure how they are right now but I much preferred MWIII. The skins bullshit is also getting out of hand.

Ok I'll bite, name the ways in which this game 'straight up fucking rules' then. You like ai generated tiktok brainrot maps and predatory matchmaking? :messenger_grinning_smiling:

So...how can I get an early access code? Is it still available throughout the twitch or pre ordering or do I have to wait a couple extra days for the open beta?

Best bet is to preorder via Amazon and get your code then cancel or walk into a Gamestop and preorder for $5 and get a code
