Between this incident and multiple attempts at the president, I'm just not feeling this "both sides" thing. Call it 80/20 if you want, hell, 70/30. This is not even

How many of the countless high-profile news outlets that claimed he's right-wing will issue formal corrections? We have his motives clearly stated to multiple people now, including the full text exchange. We even have the connecting line between his trans relationship, his increasing radicalization specifically around trans topics according to his parents, and his decision to make the shot during that particular question.
they won't. if anything, the actual truth will be buried in paragraph 32 in the article titled "What we know about Tyler Robinson's Upcoming Trial"

Was the point of that video initially to be a video to show that they don't print that name to the cups, or to make a video of getting the name to the cup?
If it was the former, I understand your position. If it's the latter, I don't understand your position.

If she knew they wouldn't do it I can understand it being harassing.
If she didn't know I don't understand why it was harassing.

If you know she did know it beforehand, let me know and I will then agree with you.

I don't know how those Tiktok etc things work so I don't know if the text must be written beforehand on the video or if it's done afterwards. I assume the latter but could be wrong.
10000% chance she knew they would not print the cup and she was trying to ragebait and "cancel" Starbucks. Notice she says this is "part 2" of her Karen chronicles

I'm still waiting for the shoe to drop when it comes to the killer leaving a manifesto or any sort of publicly verifiable motive he left a trail of. Surely he didn't just decide out of the blue to see if he could do it for a laugh.
he said to his love. that "some hate was not negotiable" or something to that effect. He has planning the assesination for about a week.

trans/flurries communities in discord/steam are been investigated i think, maybe some kind of "manifesto" could be there, but i think they will find some encouragement for his action.

What the heck does an emotional connection have anything to do with a political affiliation?

He clearly said all he cared was about his "love", referring to his boyfriend that was transitioning.

And his motive was the "hate" that Charlie Kirk apparently pushed.
His parents told investigators that was expressing increasingly radical views specifically around trans issues.

We all know that Charlie's "hate" means in this ideological context.

He even took the shot during a trans question.

This is violent trans ideology, no different from all the thousands upon thousands of "kill TERFs" posts all over social media from people like Tyler.

Yep.

Almost every single time I've seen wild takes online, it was someone with a furry avatar. With how much they actually want to disassociate from reality, I suppose it makes sense

I stopped watching the guy, but as for trans people, I think crowder has a compilation of being assaulted by them.

Credit to the parents who called him, and even asked him to produce a photo of his rifle (that he wasn't able to produce), leading them to be further suspicious and bring in the pastor's sheriff

Where do you get your news from? You should probably find a better source. The vast majority of people who protested that day protested (mostly) peacefully outside the capitol. Yes some idiots decided to break inside (one of them, a woman, was shot and killed), while others were let in by capitol police and escorted around as shown by video. The police officer that died did not die from the protestors, he suffered two strokes in his office due to a blood clot and he died the next day. The ME specifically stated that the pepper spray he received earlier in the day played no role in his death, which is why the two protestors who sprayed him were not charged with murder. The ME said the stress of that day may have contributed, but he had an underlying condition that was always going to be an issue which is why his death was ruled as natural. And since he died on January 7th, no police officers died on January 6th as Boo Who? Boo Who? correctly stated. You're the one who is in fact incorrect.

And while I don't contest the result of the election. There were many statistical anomalies, most notably the total number of votes. Trump broke the record (at the time) for the popular vote with 74M votes but somehow Biden managed not only to get even more votes, but 7M more (which represents a whopping 10% more), which is a huge difference. For reference, the 2024 election had a lower amount of total votes. So it's understandable that some republicans cried foul. Of course the US election system is a total joke, which was made even worse that year by COVID and mail-in ballots. The lack of clarity helped fuel the idea that it was "stolen". At the end of the day, if fraud happened, Trump was the incumbent and he can only blame himself and his party for not doing a better job securing the election and maintaining strict accountability for every vote. And if he wanted to contest the results, he should have ensured he had the necessary proof to do so instead of hiring that crazy woman who was gonna "unleash the Kraken" but unleashed only her complete incompetence. Pence did the right thing by refusing to overturn the results.
There's no problem with believing at the time that there might have been foul play or illegal tampering of the election--In fact, it should be encouraged! We should always hold our election system to the upmost scrutiny.

My problem is people not able to condemn and enabling DJT to say, still to this day, that enough fraud or irregularities took place to affect the outcome.

From a Mormon to a violent leftist gay furry trans lover in a year. JFC. Talk about turbo radicalized.

Kids who were raised strictly religious are exactly the people who slingshot hard in the opposite direction. Having grown up in Oklahoma, I've seen it many times. It's a minority of kids who are raised in strict religious homes for sure, but that minority go nuts when they break away from their parents. It's often during the teenage years, but comes later for the more timid kids.

The kids who come from chill upbringings with parents who transition from care takers to mentors to friends/confidants don't. They're more grounded.

I tried to explain it as politely as I could. In reality, they all know that. As I eluded to, if the roles were reversed that is literally what they have said for decades the 2nd amendment is for. They know. They all fully know. This is why people call them names. They enjoy it, the display of power and dominance, and Trump completely ignoring the law as flagrantly as possible. If they didn't support it, they would have acknowledged it by now. They voted out anyone on the right that acknowledged it. This is where we are.

A lot of interesting peripheral information in this article here regarding possible connections to groups which receive State Department funding and more. Read with some salt, but a lot of publicly (or previously) accessible information on some groups that may be involved.

The most important thing is to be fair to the killer. That is NOT a relationship with a woman. It's a gay dude and a mentally ill dude playing dress up.

Lot of good actions being taken. Now Era just needs to be closed as it's a brainwashing chamber that could radicalise more people. A lot of people on that forum would be helped if it ceased to exist.

People like myself and plenty others have been warning about the consequences of labeling everything people disagree with as "hate" "racist" etc. I can't say those people are responsible for Kirk's murder, I believe that in almost all circumstances the killer alone is the one responsible. But I will call them "contributing factors."

That said, these outcomes are a feature, not a bug. The only way for stupid views and ideas to become the dominant ones is to eliminate the views that are better and oppose those views. And to do that, you need to eliminate those who believe those views and speak those views. Either through cancellations, intimidation, or in this case, murder.

If you can't argue for your point, just scream "hatred!" or whatever isms and phobes you want to hurl out there.

"Remember how I was engraving bullets" text message from shooter to roommate. It makes me wonder how many people were aware in advance.

That text exchange feels kinda like fan-fiction with the way it reads, but it does seem like Robinson could be on the spectrum. Like if you read the messages from Robinson in the voice of Connor from Love on the Spectrum, it's kinda believable.

If he didn't turn himself in, leaving the rifle would have gotten him caught. A unique gun that his dad knew as soon as he saw it on the news.

Era should be highlighted to the FBI if it hasn't already. Even today, many of them, inspite of all the evidence shared so far, still continued to spread lies and conspiracy theories that the shooter was some super far right wing guy. They seem to think CNN, the Atlantic, the NY Times, and Axios are all now right wing rags whose reporting should not be acknowledged. Also, that law enforcement is only showing some of the evidence they have (that's what you do when you prosecute), some who equals a coverup to them. Funny thing is, some members like Fat4all come in here to read and report back there to spread lies, despite everything here being mainly sane and fact-based. Retardera indeed.

Death will be the jury's call if convicted. So it is no guarantee the jury will all vote for death given his age and first time criminal offense, it appears. And his defense team will try and do a good job drumming up sympathy for him being radicalized online and such.

The rest of his life will be miserable and he's only 22. He did it all for nothing lol
Him no longer having contact with his online crazy friends/media will probably eventually deradicalize him somewhat and reality will hit him hard. If in his mind he did it for the love of his boyfriend then that love too will likely subside and he'll be left with nothing but his parents who still truly love their son despite everything. And he'll realize how much he's managed to hurt them as he spends years on deathrow. It'll be brutal unless he's a complete psychopath.

Lots of interesting details dropping.

"I will have left no evidence"

He thought he would get away with it.
He did a Bryan Kohberger. Probably was pre-occupied with how to get in the gun and how to escape that he didn't think about cameras capturing him once inside. Presumably he was pretty intelligent and had good grades so he might have thought that he could outsmart even the FBI.

Thinking he could get away with it, in the middle of the day, with the surveillance state that we live in, is the same as a guy thinking he can outrun the police because he is in a Ferrari. You can outrun a cop car, but not a Motorola radio.

Reading this, I actually think he thought he could get away with it. Wayyyy too many cameras in the modern age to get away with something like that.
Yeah if you plan to do something like that just assume your life is over. If you have something to lose don't even consider it.

Well said. I think you're probably right.

Twitch removed that guy that was yelling on tv.

that's fake news

he got permabanned years ago for a clip most conservatives would celebrate, ironically

destiny isn't the guy you think he is, not that anyone holding a pitchfork cares about nuance

I think people in positions of trust (teachers, childcare, nurses and doctors, police, military) should, by law, automatically be fired and lose any professional licenses associated with their job, if they cheer/encourage political assassinations. Imagine a world where doctors let patients die because they had different political beliefs or a police officer that doesn't help somebody in distress for the same reason. Madness.

This is how 'Der Spiegel' reports on this. Der Spiegel is pretty much Germany's most influential weekly news magazine:
Insults, death threats, public shaming: Anyone who criticizes the murdered Charlie Kirk online becomes the target of a campaign. Dozens have already lost their jobs, and Republicans are advocating for social media censorship.

They are by far not the only one who act like those losing their jobs are losing their job for voicing criticism while the other side is depicted as right wing lunatics sending death threats. I am strictly against death threats towards anyone and I think basically everyone here can agree on that.

Frankfurter Rundschau (regional newspaper) frames it like this in their headline:
Fueled by the ultra far-right: After the Kirk assassination, critics become targets of revenge actions
While in the articles they do say that some are getting fired for mocking his death, they paint the picture like its only a small minority and anyone voicing a single word of criticism gets targeted.

And now I just heard on WDR (television funded by public money) this:
Some media label Charlie Kirk as a conservative. That's unfortunately pretty foolish. Many true conservatives still haven't realized that they are the first victims of extremists like Charlie Kirk. These reckless conservatives act like people who probably would have cried if the Stauffenberg assassination attempt had succeeded. Under the motto: "But the victim was someone who inspired the youth! And besides, Kirk at least debated with his opponents. So he can't possibly be a right-wing extremist."
Yes, he is! Precisely because of that. Because they debate too. By pretending to engage with those they disagree with, they trot out the same tired talking points to then portray themselves as champions of free speech.

This is considered satirical comedy. I do find it extremely questionable to equate Kirk with Hitler and basically signaling that Kirks assassinition was a positive thing.

The main motives for murder are revenge, love, and money(or play to the emotions of rage, jealousy/insecurity, greed). Given that and reading the text exchange, I wonder if this murder wasn't solely about just hating Charlie Kirk, but also in the mind of Robinson, this was his way to "prove himself" to his trans significant other. Even if the significant other didn't ask for it.

Obviously it remains to be seen and I have no idea, but I'm getting vibes from Robinson that it was more than just "I'm outraged at this guy, I'm going to kill him now!" and that text exchange just made me feel stronger about it. But time will tell.

Their chat makes a lot more sense in the context of clearing the roommate or any suspected terror group from wrongdoing.

It wouldn't surprise me if more shows up. I highly, highly doubt the shooter planned this in a single week, spur of the moment.
