┼ About the game ┼

Hades 2
is a bitching sequel to the rogue lite hack and slash action game with visual novel style story sections.

In Hades 2 time is not just a concept. In Hades 2 time is literal, a god, and you as the player find yourself as his opponent.

But how does one stop time?
The clock is ticking.

Unreal Engine 5 ruins this game.

Also tons of woke stuff,

And it's got micro transactions;

My uncle who is a big shot at a big game making company said their was a lot of crunch to get it out on time:

It has day 1 DLC

THE MAIN CHARACTER IS A GURL!

The graphic are cartoon anime junk for kids,

The game is quite easy. Most of the enemies have no way of dealing with the player if you position yourself out of the reach of their attacks but within the reach of your most furthest reaching attack.

Also you gain extra lives quite easily. With little effort I had 4 lives and differents ways of healing.

How do you get four lives? I'm having a hard time on the oceanic boss.

I've found several ways to gain lives or as the game calls them death defiances. One of them is through the arcana cards. The card called Death gives you one, but you can upgrade it to give more.

Also when you unlock pets you can tame a cat which gives you another death defiance.

I think you can find more death defiances in the levels per run as you play. I think the shops sell those* as well sometimes during the level.

Edit: oh yes and the trinket you get from Schelemeus as you give him a gift gives you a death defiance. There are other trinkets which work a bit similarly. You can change the trinkets during the run when you unlock the means.

*Edit2: To clarify the shops during runs sell death defiance renews which refill your used death defiances. They cost 200 gold usually.

I beat the upper path final boss first try. Here's my build:

The downwards path boss took more tries, about five tries.

I think I'm in the endgame now.

Awesome thank you. Going to do another run now and will look for these.

The Chaos trials seem like a fun way to have shorter runs with a specific goal / build / restrictions in mind.

There's some much content even after beating both of the final bosses. Huge game, huge.

Been playing this a ton on Switch 2. Started a new save since I only played the initial PC early access last year. Really great game.

I played some more this morning.

I'm really thinking this will be my game of the year.
Keep seeing you hop online. How far are you?

This game has been incredible in every way so far. The music is absolutely outstanding, and the gameplay loop is unbelievably addictive. It feels really balanced compared to the first game, too, with every weapon being a viable option. (Except the shitty axe.)

And for anyone who hasn't gotten the game yet, it's at least double the size of the first game. Insane value overall.

Forgot how stupidly good this game is.

Sorry silkboys, this is the indie sequel of the year.

P.s. not sure if we neede a gif of fucking reggie in the ot but ok :lollipop_squinting:

There is a time and place for Reggie. With the newest OT content update only the most curious will be blessed by him.

I don't see how laughing at an oxymoron could be a problem.
What is the oxymoron here?

I already played the early access of hades 2 for 40 hours last year and i momentarily "forgot" how good it was now that i'm playing the 1.0.

Like i knew it was good because hades 1 was already incredible and i loved what i played in early access, but i forgot how fucking good every single element is, from music to graphic to voice acting to sense of progression etc. And how much they improved in one year.

Maybe forgot wasn't the right word, i'm still amazed by how good the game is would be more correct.

It's not half as funny as an external link that loads Tenor's whole web site. IMO hide it in a spoiler lol

I only just got around to Hades 1, how does 2 compare to it specifically? Is it some huge improvement of a sequel like Sonic 2, or just kinda like, more Hades?

What the fudge is going on with the comments on this first page?
There's no time to explain why there is no time to explain!

I launched the OT in an pre-alpha early access state which roused some well earned critique.

I've found however that sometimes it is best to hit the ground running and improve a project as time progresses.

The need for an OT was real and I did what I could at the time.

The OT is still a work in progress.

It certainly wasn't the best word, but still.. "sequel of the year" doesn't fit to the game released 4 days ago and OP only remembered about it yesterday. The game is obviously good or great, but if feels like there is no hype surrounding it.

WTF? That is not true. I've played the game 22 hours since the 1.0 launch four days ago.

The reason I made this thread is since there was a need for an OT and no one else was doing it so I took on the responsibility.

Why are you here? Just to suffer?

Honestly I'm pretty sated with Megabonk right now and am already moderating my rougelite gaming intake to keep my eyes from falling out from this one game
