Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7 Multiplayer and Zombies Beta |OT| No Skin In This Game.

Just played a few matches. Seems alright. Basically a futuristic version of Blops 6?

Strafing movement in particular feels more aggressive...was basically running into walls at first whenever I'd turn.

The game generally seems to run a bit better than Blops 6.

Is it just me, who things that the graphics or rather overall presentation seems like from X360 era? Not that IQ or anything is ba, just that there a lot of bigass fonts, in the game there is some sort of haze everywhere and BO6 looks to me way better. Maps are also kind of boring in two colors, should be more colorful future... like Killzone: Shadowfall. Not feeling this one, to be honest

Played some more. Not sure how I feel about the maps. I think I like Cortex. But the other two...Exposure and something else just feel slightly too big? Felt like there situations where nobody was meeting for long periods.

As expected, it's just like a reskinned Black Ops 6, with worse wall running than Black Ops 3.

Menus, scoreboard, they're all the same (with a different font) doing nothing to help at least pretend it's a new game.

I much preferred the days when they all ran on slightly different engines and at least felt different to play!

Of course I'll play it.

Finally got on after work for a session. It's call of duty alright and that's not a bad thing. That's up the eyes of the beholder though. Shit is fun and smooth as always. Gunplay feels better then 6 but once people get used to this jumping shit people are gonna move like crackheads.

COD community every fucking time.

Moan about SBMM ruining the game(which i somewhat agree with) but will go ahead buying the game anyway.

That will show activision.

Not to fall into the 'this time is different' crowd, but this time is indeed different.

This is pathetic by Call of Duty's standards.

Now let's play a little quiz, will Activision:

a) address the complaints and change the matchmaking
b) bury their heads in the sand like an ostrich

We all know the answer, and that makes the situation even more depressing.

Also this is worth noting

Wait, so that's only 75k people playing Call of Duty across the board? ie: Warzone, BLOPS6 and BLOPS 7 beta? They are all included in the launcher no?

Played a few games now and quite enjoyed it 🤷‍♂️

Only played on two maps, but they both seemed decent. I quite like the cleaner lines brought about by futuristic themes.

It's not full wall sliding which is also good.

Didn't see any smokes 😬 Hope they are in the full game. I hate trying to go for a capture point without smoking my way there!

I had a lot of fun w the beta yesterday but I already have too many games to play. I'm gonna delete the beta today and nitnlook back the rest of the year. Got BL4 and BF6 to look forward to.

I played two maps, had very low interest and noped out of the game. It's maybe too early to say but I think I may be done with Call of Duty, it doesn't help that I am not a fan of the futuristic ones. Dont like the WW2 ones either. I'm so hard to please haha.

I know generally people say cod is the same every year, but after getting to level 20 last night with some friends, you can't convince me that this is not just a reskinned/expansion of Blops 6. Graphically on PS5, i feel like the whole game is kinda dark... like my TV brightness wasn't high enough, (it was, i checked lol) that could be a "me" situation tho, gonna play on PC tonight and confirm. I like the skewer streak since i can just click the button and not worry about it. I also feel liek the red dots on the optics are a bit clearer and have less bloom. I like that they took the perk from blops 6 and made it permanent, swapping tacitcal sprint as a perk. I like that if you mix catagories of perks, you still get a bonus so are arent forced into 3 reds, blues, or greens.
Would i pay $70 for this? Big NO. Would i play it if i kept my PC gamepass sub? if my friends are on sure. But even today I'm not like "damn i can't wait to get outta work so i can play this weekend" like i have been for the past few years. I'm so thankful that i have an alternative military shooter to play this year with BF6. hopefully next year we get a decent Modern Warfare game, or in my super wishful thinking, titanfall 3.

Zombies definitely plays like zombies, seems a bit more aggressive than BO6, which was already way more aggressive than cold war/MWZ which will probably just make it even harder for new players to get into.
Lack of tactical sprint is kinda annoying, but perhaps a perk modifier brings it back, though it would be a bit lame to waste a modifier slot for that.

Easy 31 rounds exfil though, the others went at 26 so I think it's pretty cool you can exfil when you want instead of being forced to do what others want.
Went from level 7 to level 17 as well, and maxed out my BO6 battle pass, so that's nice.

That new bear zombie is pretty tough, but wonder weapons seem to tear it apart. 🤷‍♂️

Zombies is fun at least, the farm level reminds me of Transit. And not an abomination or mangler in sight.

Then straight back into the viper pit, yikes. If zombies was a standalone £30 game I'd probably buy it, but once again I'm not spending money to play MLG Dallas tryouts every match.

There is an aspect of all the SBMM complaints that is not talked about and I think it's actually a much deeper problem, or at least I can see the beginning of it since I've seen a very similar thing happen to other competitive games.

If your overall player base numbers go down the percentage of good players (that's left behind) goes up and eventually every lobby starts feeling like a "meat grinder" regardless of what SBMM does or doesn't do.

This early access beta is basically a preview of this exact scenario…

yep, the beta is WAAYY more sweaty than whatever average games I'm having on BO6, but that's obviously because of the much smaller group of players.
You can feel it a bit too if you go back to MWIII, you'll run into more sweats there because the pool is just smaller than BO6

Ye that's just the way it goes.

That's one of the most impressive things about Counter Strike really … maintaining a large enough player base so that you can always find some "chill" games regardless of how competitive the game itself really is.

If you think of CoD's history they've done well as well, but I think they starting to run into that problem now.

I'm not looking for excuses for the overly aggressive SBMM algo, but there is more to it than that.

I really wonder how things would feel with very mild SBMM and non-disbanding lobbies

Vast majority of the G Fuel snorting gigasweats move on to the newest game as fast as humanly possible.

I used to enjoy going back to BO3/4 when the new game came out because it was mostly lobbies full of casuals and people who got the game from a monthly PS Plus drop.

Now it all depends on your personal experience of course. KD means nothing these days but I was a 4 kd player in BO4 and consistently >3 going back to BO1, so I must be in the 0.1% bracket.

I don't do any of the movement shit either, I don't even know how to slide cancel. All my 'skill' comes from reaction time and quick thinking. So these lobbies are even worse for me, if that's even possible.
