Apparently means Third in greek (τρίτος). This is it boys.TRI-ton? as in THREE!? HALF-LIFE 3 CONFIRMED! /s
Anyway, this is cool, I have been patiently waiting for this to release.
From the leaked images, it's more like a traditional dual stick controller than the original Steam controller. Think Steam Deck controls with bigger trackpads. Please give it to me. I don't want to play shooters with a normal controller, but I also don't want to use mouse and keyboard on the couch. The Steam Controller is close to mouse level speed and accuracy for me.
and no d-pad. Valve might be messing with us too.Well well well
Only one analogue stick deary me
Just give me a steam controller with a built in battery and I'm there day 1.
First thing came to my mind as well.Triton sounds like Trinitron. Sony buying Gabe confirmed.

Yeah, I am confused by the new icon. I wonder if the final design is closer to the icon or the leaked render?Leaked model has two

It's just an icon, I don't think it's meant to be representative
What is this real lolLeaked model has two

Did the original one always need to be plugged in? That's poo if true
What is this real lol
Steam Deck is so beautiful, despite having a couple of other handhelds that have far surpassed it, i still keep mine around, so comfortable. It's part of the cad files leaked that also had the VR controllers
They're just the steam deck controllers without the screen if you think of it, analog sticks lower than steam deck. Would make sense for valve to continue compatibility for their upcoming "console", steam deck and eventually steam deck 2

Civilization VII, Planet Coaster 2, Two Point Campus etc.
The steam controller fixed a problem for me that 10 years later doesn't really exist anymore.
I bought into the steam controller hype and bought it, used 10 min and never touched again.
Hopefully this one is actually good.
The problem with this though is today it would be extremely uncomfortable.Leaked model has two

Just look at that thing and imagine using the analog sticks. Your range of motion would be absolutely shit and people would barely be able to reach them properly anyway.
We don't know until we actually hold it, I'm sure valve has made many different shapes and tested them and decided this was the most comfortableThe problem with this though is today it would be extremely uncomfortable.

Valve using the number 3 in any fashion is very disturbing.TRI-ton? as in THREE!? HALF-LIFE 3 CONFIRMED! /s

maybe the SteamOS steam boxIf this controller is basically done then what are they waiting to release it for?
They could have simply copied the layout of the Steam Deck exactly if they wanted to. So I doubt they will make something that is less comfortable, although I'm sure ymmv. The problem with this though is today it would be extremely uncomfortable.

Yes, Consoles are meant to be connected to TVs. And yes, they're also multimedia devices.People don't understand how important a modern console running on Linux is. It can be connected to TV and used as media server.
Loved the trackpad (with momentum flicks, and mouse mode for point and click or strategy games) on original Steam controller. I'd take it over all dual stick controllers every day, it's an infinitely better experience. Still use it on PC, when I'm not going full mouse. I'd rather quit PC gaming than ever go back to any dual stick handicapped experience.
