Would not be surprised if true considering the Steam box. PS has legit competition but it still won't change my stance on my Pro likely being my last console (unless the kids want a PS6).
Isn't Bloodborne on ShadPS4 running better than the original PS4 version these days?Bloodborne
Nvidia DLSS making PS5pro PSSR look like shit.
Shhh! what would poor Sony do if the secret got outIsn't Bloodborne on ShadPS4 running better than the original PS4 version these days?
My feelings exactly, I have 200 wishlisted games on steam, none of them are from Sony. The whole Sony on PC novelty is dead. There are so many goooood games now and I don't see any Sony game as "must play" especially in this generation.
Pro is getting FSR4 soon. FSR4 is damn close to DLSS transformer.Nvidia DLSS making PS5pro PSSR look like shit.
Nah, it's better than DLSS CNN model but still quite a bit behind transformerPro is getting FSR4 soon. FSR4 is damn close to DLSS transformer.
I feel the same way. The good news, I bet the PS5 generation will play pretty much all AAA games for the next decade. The cross-gen period is going to be crazy longWould not be surprised if true considering the Steam box. Last December.Makes sense, when did last last release/announce any big ports?
Last December.
They are making less money now selling 2 version of the same game? Where was this saidI actually don't believe it. But what is true is that their PC (and GAAS) strategy since 2020 is a failure. They are now making less money from first party on 2 platforms than they were doing on one platform (PS4) just before PS5 was released. And they were doing much less investement back then, even "flops" like Driveclub or Day's Gone have actually been super profitable in the long term. This is really tragic what is happening at Playstation. And this is not the market talking as third parties are mostly having a great success those last few years, but certainly not Playstation games.
At the beginning of PS5 gen the PS4 sales were muddying the waters but now even an intern should notice it.
Smart move. Even if they do release on PC they should make them exclusive to a Playstation PC Store at the very least for a year.
And Intergalactic.Wolverine.
You are correct that's how things used to be. So tell me, if one can finish Wolverine or Intergalactic via streaming, 20-30 hour or whatever games, why would they buy hardware?Tentpole single-player games being platform exclusive at launch was never not going to be the case.
As I've explained before, the *entire* premise of first-party is to serve as brand-identity leaders for the platform. Because if they were looking purely to maximize direct revenue return they'd target the widest audience possible.
If a game is multi-player or service-based then naturally the calculus changes because titles like that live or die based on engagement numbers, so the priority becomes to open wide with MAU as a KPI, because the assumption is within any user cohort there will a hardcore of "whales" who will contribute disproportionately to the overall revenue stream.
In a single player stand-alone offer, essentially every sale made is of equal value. So opening "narrow" then going "wide" in terms of addressable market makes much more sense as its a value driver to the host of the "narrow" distro channel through FOMO and brand identification.
Stellar Blade??Makes sense, when did last last release/announce any big ports?
Steam Machine and Xbox Magnus aren't direct competitors, but it's not a good image having Sony's AAAs on there.
Fully expect GaaS games to continue being multiplatform going forward though.
Herman Hulst said one or 2 AAA tentpole games every year. He would love to release a Horizon game every year plus something from others.Sorry which games? I haven't seen many of them lately
Quite a bit would be FSR3 compared to DLSS. Nowadays, the difference is largely academic.Nah, it's better than DLSS CNN model but still quite a bit behind transformer
Agreed. Its going to be wild to see how well Pro ages compared to OG PS5.I feel the same way. The good news, I bet the PS5 generation will play pretty much all AAA games for the next decade. The cross-gen period is going to be crazy long
If you predict every outcome, you will be right either way"Day and date is coming" - https://www.neogaf.com/threads/jez-corden-day-and-date-is-coming-sony-on-pc.1690144/
Few days later, "PlayStation Pulling Back".
This guy is an absolute clown.
Nope, FSR4 is a giant step from FSR3 but let's not downplay the advances they can still makeQuite a bit would be FSR3 compared to DLSS. Nowadays, the difference is largely academic.
The optimal approach depends on the stage of the console life cycle imo. I would not be surprised if they pull back from PC temporarily when PS6 releases, to encourage as many as possible to buy the console, only to move back towards being PC friendly later.
Tsushima did very well on PC. If they think eg. not releasing Yotei or Astro Bot on PC is going to make a significant number of PC gamers go and buy a PS5 at this stage, they are dreaming.
Unavoidable shader compilation is a far worse experience than the poor frame pacing 30fps original experience on PS4.Isn't Bloodborne on ShadPS4 running better than the original PS4 version these days?
Gaben takesNon surprises. Valve is coming after the home console market now.
Nope, FSR4 is a giant step from FSR3 but let's not downplay the advances they can still make
Yea that's different to "the difference is largely academic" when you can see with your own eyes the differenceFSR4 is known to sit somewhere between CNN and transformer. This doesn't prove anything- FSR4 is very close to Nvidia's solution.
I thought this was fixed. Or maybe I am just lucky, since I haven't had a lot of trouble with shader compilation.Unavoidable shader compilation is a far worse experience than the poor frame pacing 30fps original experience on PS4.
The nicety of 60+ fps is completely ruined by the shader compiling.
