I'll do it for them, this was dumb:

You made it seem like no one is going to care about consoles when PC has mods and higher resolutions, when those have never been major factors for people to abandon consoles.

And before you tell me that it's not what you were trying to say, sure, but it's what the wording of your post suggested.
I think the position Sony is next gen they will dominate because no one is going to give a single fuck about the Magnus or Steam Machine when you can get prebuilts or just build a better pc.
And the PS6 has already won because anyone with intelligence knows that the only games with good graphics on PC are third-party games.
Simply put, the PC currently has the computing power of a PS7, but where are the games? The graphics generation only changes if the PlayStation changes, so Ubisoft or some other third-party company could make something for PC, but in theory they could do it today, but they don't. I won't give any other explanation besides that.It made my head hurt trying first to understand what this is trying to say and then the mindset that led to it.
Because Sony will be willing to take a loss if needed and Valve wontWhy are you so sure the PS6 will be cheaper than the Steam Machine?

I'm not going back to PC. I've changed my mind on the SteamCube also. It's going to be around 600 - 750 , and I think if rather in vest that money in a Mortal Kombat 2 arcade machine tbh. After being let down by PS5 this gen, I'm more likely to go with a Steam Machine than a PS6, and I fucking hate PC gaming. Only way I'd ever even consider a PS6 is if it's a hybrid device, has good first party and third party support and Japanese games.
Funny enough, game is playable on PC (the leaked build that is).Sony should make sure Wolverine never sees the PC.
Now is the time to make that happen. Jez heard they were pulling back. Wolverine a Playstation excusive would be a step in the right direction.
If you can play Wolverine on Magnus then why buy a PS6?
You hearing this Sony?
What happens beyond PS6?Sony will do excellent next gen in the console market. Beyond ps6 no.
Sony fans are built for (console) war, apparently. Made whole by it. They are a hammer in search of a nail. There can be no peace, no rest. Sony must be the winner, even when nobody else is competing.
When there is nobody to fight, they start twitching and making these types of threads. Why the chip on the shoulder about this kind of thing?
Have you checked lately how top games on PC looks compared with PS? Saying that PS drive the graphics generation is wild.Simply put, the PC currently has the computing power of a PS7, but where are the games? I think the position Sony is next gen they will dominate because no one is going to give a single fuck about the Magnus or Steam Machine when you can get prebuilts or just build a better pc. They will be the cheaper option of the three and I think they will dominate even more nextgen and push more people to the console. No one is going to care about these stationary console/Pc. Portables are a bit different because of the portability aspect. It's been done since the early 2010s with the Alienware X51 and no one cared back then.
So if price for services does not matter why are you bringing price as your main argument?Does this matter though PC has always been service free and people still pay for their services.

Fair
I'm not saying everyone should ditch consoles. It's more that for those who value performance and customizability, PC can offer a deeper experience, but that doesn't mean consoles are irrelevant
Indeed. It's why I make it my business to provoke and troll Sony fanboys for that very reason. I consider it my civic duty.Sony fans are built for (console) war, apparently. Made whole by it. And Nintendo Switch 2. People have finite amounts of money and many prefer being able to play Mario and Zelda too.the competition is PC vs PS6 now
And the PS6 has already won because anyone with intelligence knows that the only games with good graphics on PC are third-party games.
No one is going to spend millions of dollars to make exclusive games for PC.
The trend suggests that PlayStation will eventually surpass 200 million customers due to the superior power provided by blockbusters games.
This is what many more people will do in the next gen. This is what Sony seem to want: pushing people to Steam ecosystem.I've abandoned the Playstation console ecosystem.
Rebought all the Sony games on PC. I'm still missing Astrobot.
Sony is still in the house, but the Playstation is out.
I don't think many people do that. At least hardly any casuals. For many of them, a PC is a complicated and overpriced device that you'd need three master's degrees to operate, and that you can't even connect to the TV in the living room. This is what many more people will do in the next gen. This is what Sony seem to want: pushing people to Steam ecosystem.

Sony did grew from last gen. They are currently should be at 130-140 mil of usersI don't think it is that simple. First the overall sale of consoles is down. People jumped ship from Xbox but Sony didn't grow from last gen.
They do adding players. Iirc 30% of PS5 players are new.Their revenue and profits are higher which is good for them, but they can't keep doing better without adding players.
And... Here it comes, PC bros wishfull thinkingI think they need to be aggressive and go all in on PC with a PS store and make cross play/ cross buy a thing. And while doing that, get a portable switch like device out there. A portable that plays optimized console games in an ecosystem where you can play PC versions on PCs with XX09s will be appealing to families with gamer moms and dads who like to have the best HW. In other words take a legitimate stab at beating MS who is trying something similar but Sony does it from a position of success while MS does it from a position of extreme incompetence.
They are not in a good position.
No way they can move to PS6 and expect people to pay PS5 Pro levels of fortune.
That's why they won't launch the PS6 at PS5 Pro price level, even if they have to delay it until they can
It's unbelievable that people STILL don't get the difference between a "Base" console and a "Pro" console
Sony needs people to buy PS6 to keep its market share. Mid-gen consoles are a completely optional product for enthusiasts
It's not controversial at all if you are European. Remove the US from the global numbers and anyone can see that PlayStation never had serious competition since 1996 in any country that isn't Japan. It's in the only country where Xbox ever had a solid presence (for one generation) that people still enjoy this console war delusion like MS was ever a serious competitor to Sony.Might be controversial, but I honestly think one reason Sony dominates and will continue to dominate is because they have never really had strong direct competition. Their competition seemingly almost always screw up somewhere and Sony typically capitalizes on it.
