What is it that you want?

He already has a ball in his throat, isn't that enough?

  1. A solution to stuttering issues for new and old games.
  2. Nvidia to reach Linux driver performance parity with Windows.
  3. Valve to implement proper kernel and driver support for suspend to RAM, so any PC running Linux can replicate the game suspend state of the Steam Deck.
  4. Developers removing DRM from their digital games after 5 or so years of sale, since they've made the bulk of their money, and consumers get ownership back.
  5. Command & Conquer Remastered Collection adding remasters of Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun, Generals + Zero hour.
  6. New entries in Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six Vegas, SOCOM, Crimson Skies, Out Run, Burnout, Wipeout, Timesplitters, Breath of Fire, Grandia, Skies of Arcadia & Guardian Heroes.
  7. A new SSX with the controls and physics (+ wing-suit) of 2012 version, but the aesthetic and vibe of Tricky.
  8. Re-Releases of Transformers Fall of Cybertron & War for Cybertron with online multiplayer and community dedicated server support so they can live forever.
  9. Warcraft 4, and re-do Warcraft 3 Re-forged.

Replicate PS2 and early 360 days basically. More frequent game releases, more experimentation in the AAA space, no woke writing. At no point in my life there have been this few interesting game releases for me to look forward to. For 2026 it's so far only 3 games: RE Requiem, 007 (maybe) and GTA VI.

- Less superhero games
This wish was already granted.
  • Wonder woman, cancelled.
  • EA's Black Panther, cancelled.
  • Spiderman multiplayer, cancelled.
  • Skydance Black Panther, missing/dev hell.
  • Multiversus, shut down.
  • Suicide Squad, dead userbase.
  • No chance of Midnight Suns 2.
  • WB has one foot almost out of gaming completely.

There are only two big hero games confirmed coming soon, Wolverine and Marvel Tokon.

That's it.

Blur 2

Ban anything/everything ever that cannot be earned by just playing the game reasonably

This may sound radical: Ban post game release patches/updates. I don't care about free DLC. Make it once and done forever, unless its exclusively for multiplayer.

I mean, holy shit where do we begin.

I want a do-over of FF7R because they fucked this one up.
I want gamefreak to finally hand the reins over to someone that gives a shit about making a good pokemon game.
I want to get the old band back together for an actual Warcraft 4 and Starcraft 3. While they're at it, I want them to make the game I cooked up.

I want microtransactions gone. All of em. Outta here. Money should be made by selling a compelling product. Got more ideas to sell? Make a new game. Stop with the years of season passes and cosmetics and shit for a tired game we've already played to death. I would so much rather pay a solid dollar value and know that I was getting a full, complete package with everything already bundled in. You didn't need to buy a season pass or an expansion to unlock mewtwo in Melee. He was just in there, and you got him by playing the game you already bought. It's so much more rewarding to earn a prize than to just pay $16 to unlock him with my premium deluxe battle pass. And if I AM paying a subscription for a game, like in an MMO, it should just come with everything the game has to offer. Don't sell me a $15/mo subscription and then make me pay for a $90 for a fucking mount. If the thing is in the game, I should be able to earn it in the game.

I want games to stop chasing the impossible production highs. I've been playing Metroid Prime Remastered getting my self back into the swing of things before 4 comes out, and god damn, this game still looks great. It's a fuckin 23 year old gamecube game with some new textures, widescreen and slightly improved lighting. How do games like this and FF12 hold up so well?

The PS2 had four MEGABYTES of VRAM and the game looks this fuckin' good? HELLO? WHAT ARE WE DOING

Fun fact: Ashe
page_ashe3.jpg
has 100 less polygons than

298663.png

Mario in 3D Land for the 3DS. Incredible what some textures can do, huh? 1479 vs 1570, respectively. In fact, the entire main cast of FF12 - Vaan, Penelo, Balthier, Basch, Fran, and Ashe makes up less collective polygons than Mario's 3D WORLD model.

What I'm getting at here is - I think FF12 - even the original (upscaled, thanks) still looks great. You could massively increase the polygon budget across the board and the game would still run on a potato. I think there's something to be said about going back to older rendering techniques like baked lighting and shadow maps.

I want to go back to being able to release games on a relatively short time frame and at a reasonable budget because we aren't constantly chasing the absolute bleeding edge.

Didn't know so many got cancelled, but i think those are still coming:
Marvel's Deadpool VR, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Dispatch, Venom, Invincible VS, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, X-Men and almost certain more Spiderman.

Oh you meant hero games in general, not just the big AAA stuff.

Marvel 1943 is the Skydance Black Panther I was talking about. It has been missing for a while now, presumably in development hell.

I guess for me our paltry list is a far cry from PS360 gen or even NES/Genesis gen when different devs were just pumping out marvel and batman games every 6-12 months.

It feels like not many big companies are taking a gamble on them like they used to.

Exactly, I mean everything with superheroes. The flood of movies in theaters and series has ruined the genre for me, I'm completely oversaturated and can't watch or play that stuff anymore. Maybe Wolverine, becuase it looks good and is at least brutal, but that's it.

Game prices going back to 39,99
PS4 streaming on PS Portal as well as being able to resume the game without having to go through the entire startup process again.

I want to stop gaming companies from taking advice from or even listening to hardo 24/7 streamers about their games and what is best for the "community"

A proper Advance Wars sequel.
A proper OOT remake.
Proper Starcraft 3 by pulling together a lot of the original SC and SC2 teams.
Proper Project Gotham Racing 5 by pulling together a lot of the original (mostly PGR2) teams. (Or Blur2 by the Blur team).
One Piece Fighterz made by ArcSystemWorks.

I mean, what exactly do you wish from gaming industry to be happy?
Revival of RTS games. A new Command & Conquer that continues where Tiberian Sun left off. Final Fantasy XVII made by Yasumi Matsuno and set in Ivalice. A new Quake game. WarCraft 4 that continues where Frozen Throne left off.

Lower prices for hardware, peripherals and services.
Journalism, YouTubers and newsfeeds that are actually informative and not just chasing trends and social media pats on the back.
Less tribalism, less circlejerking, less politics. More objectivity, more simplicity, more constructive discussion.
And less Souls, while we're at it. It's been fifteen years. Let the stranglehold of that game's tropes let go of the industry as a whole.

Not all games are to my taste but there's so many out there that I've still got more than I could ever manage in my library. If anything I just want more time to play the games I want to play.
I've already been pretty happy with video games. I think what would make me happier is if we can somehow get people to just focus on fun games again.

Too many people are constantly chasing bad news headlines, culture war issues, or searching for other things to upset them. It's like old school tabloids but amplified.

There were a lot of good games this year, especially from unknowns and new franchises from ex-AAA devs, yet a large percentage of people online still focus solely on the big AAA company drama of the month or they constantly wait on old franchises to return as they ignore everything else.

Of course I don't think all of it will stop until people stop rewarding it all with clicks, views, and comments.
The worst bit about that is the negative ones are the loudest because they're the ones on a righteous mission.

I remember a time when it wasn't so bad and not everyone took the rage bait. But it's everywhere now and it feels like there's a lot more people biting.

The end of oversaturation is arguably happening right now, but it sounds more like you want complete eradication, which is an impossibility.

The best way to do that would be to simply put Sony on your ignore list, since half or more of what's coming or rumored to come are from them.

"Officially" yes, but it's a completely different game from what it was originally supposed to be. Different themes, lore, atmosphere, context.
NOTHING from this trailer is actually in the game :

FFXV is just a collection of so much fucked up potential in multiple ways.

The original concept and story of Versus 13 still looks really cool and interesting, and we never actually got to see it as it was intended to be.

What XV ended up being was such a clusterfuck, because they were so hellbent on putting so much story in things that was not the game itself. Absorbing some of the other content does improve the overall story and experience, but it shouldn't be that way still. I actually remember really liking the Kingsglave movie.

Then there's the DLC which ends up being some of the best damn content of the whole game. It was finally filling in some of those narrative gaps in the main story, and I think they did improve the experience...but then SE said "nah, we haven't fucked this up enough" and canceled the remaining DLC which from what I hear, actually would've been awesome. The final DLC we got for the game really put the whole narrative in a new context that I appreciated, and we were supposed to see it through to the end with the DLC, but we didn't get it, so the game is ultimately incomplete, which...is why DLC sucks in general to me. Can't do that to your audience.

Wolverine is fine with me, at least some variety through a high level of violence.

Fun games.

Not bloated open-worlds filled with useless pick-ups, dumb and repetitive fetch-quests, uninteresting and/or pretentious stories and settings, fugly characters, political shit.

Example of what I want :

Shining Force IV would be nice.

From everything XV we got, Kingsglaive is what remains the closest to the original VS XIII / XV project. I just REALLY wish this was part of the game, and not a movie. This is what we all wanted to play.

Reviewers to stop using 5080/5090 gpus when reviewing games
more efficient components/new ways of cooling
new standard to replace ATX
AI bubble to burst
GPUs where you can upgrade VWAM yourself
developers to take a step back and stop pushing graphics and push physics and gameplay again. tired of the same games releasing with different skin basically.. go back to when developers would make their own engine and stick with it for a generation.
bring back proper generations

Final Fantasy VI Remake, polygonal 3rd person multiple games, think FF7 remake only with characters cell-shaded to look like Amano's art
Left 4 Dead 3
X-Com 3
Starcraft 3, just for the campaign, loved SC2's campaign
New Killzone, could just be multiplayer
Last of Us Factions
Vandal Hearts
New Landstalker
New single player Phantasy Star that is actually good
New Alucard starring Castlevania, 2D metroidvania

Remove millionaires who are only interested in increasing their wealth from management.
Replace them with committed people who are passionate about the projects they are working on.
If they become millionaires who only care about money and power, repeat this step.

I want a space game which is a cross between No Man's Sky and Elite Dangerous. Exploration and base building from NMS mixed with the flight physics, graphics, and sound of Elite.

Then I'd be happy. 😎

I feel like this is a monkey's pawn wish that got realized several times

Full Throttle 2, and or a Star Wars point and click adventure, in the vein of Fate of Atlantis, but less obscure solutions to puzzles, you could probably mix the gameplay up with Tie-Fighter sections as welll

I'm honestly pretty much getting what I want. GP could be a little cheaper, but that's about it. The amount of stuff I have to play, and the amount of things I'm enjoying is pretty much unrivaled right now. It's a gaming golden age, and seems like it's going to get even better when I move to PC and have access to even more stuff.

Im already pretty happy with gaming right now, but if I could wish for something, hmmmm…

..maybe stable and fair hardware prices, and
Consoles having free multiplayer, and
Ownership of digital games instead of buying a potentially limited lisence.
