Foldable iPhone renders

Anyone getting hyped for a folding iPhone just remember never buy a first gen Apple product at launch.

Can wait for the launch video show how revolutionary it is 😂

The great thing about the Mate XT Ultimate is that it doesn't need a screen protector anymore... It already has one, along with its case and charger.

That looks like the original Pixel Fold. If that's it I'm not impressed

This. I thought it was one at first.

This is likely the iPhone Fold display

The Verge reports that Samsung Display showed off a new folding screen at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and said that there was no visible crease.

A photo displayed by the company, shown at the top of the piece, looks extremely impressive. Even studying the full-size photo very closely, I can't see any sign of a crease. Indeed, if I hadn't known it was a folding display, I would never have guessed.

Another photo shows the Galaxy Z Fold 7 display on the left, with a visible crease down the centre, and the prototype display on the right. The difference between the two is night and day.

I'm just wondering what its iOS will be like. Will they make some kind of iOS/iPadOS hybrid?

I wonder how much Apple is paying Samsung to presumably be the 1st one to use this. If Samsung were smart they'd put it in their Galaxy fold 8 first to have bragging rights. Also if Samsung have figured it out I'm thinking the Chinese aren't too far behind with their own creaseless display

I'll write an honest post about my experience using the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate... But I'll just say it easily deserves a 9.5 rating. And I'll expose the ridiculous myths Apple and Samsung spread about it.

I have a razr ultra and the crease is barely visible. Don't really have to open my phone and can just use the front screen for most stuff. The only scary thing about flip phones is u can't use a screen protector so u have to hope the one installed holds up or u gotta send it in for them to repair it.

I jut checked this phone out of curiosity and it's 710€ full price. Where's the catch where the regular ones are around 1700€?

Are you sure you're looking up the right one. It's called the Motorola razr ultra 2025. Mines was about $1400 at launch and probably can find it for around a grand atm. I have the woodgrain color one btw. They have cheaper flip phones that doesn't have the faster os system and are similar to the phone I have for a cheaper price.

Is it this one?

There's nothing new about that.

Lenovo and Asus did that a couple of years ago.

Neither were better than just having two separate displays with minimal bezels.

It's different when it comes to smaller devices like mobile phones, as the trade-off of lower durability of a folding device are countered by the desire of a smaller footprint put more.

This, at least for the first 6 months, pretty invisible. Unfortunately after 18 months the screen protector started peeling away and it must have got 'pinched' while closing it up and it broke the display. But using the front display, although small, I could watch YouTube at night in bed using it half way open so it acts like a stand on a wireless charger, pretty cool.

Well, I've used my phone in foldable mode and it's very durable.

I'm going to do a review of the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate... But from what I've seen so far, the device is great.... I get the feeling it's more of a marketing campaign by Samsung and iPhone to deceive people...

Like the claim that Huawei can't use Google, which is just a lie to discourage people from buying it.

That's the one I had. Switch to a TCL Nxtpaper now, which is.... Interesting, cheap too. I never seem to get normal phones, or switch to completely different phones every time.

(Most interesting ones being maybe the Motorola ROKR E6 (Linux), Oppo Reno 2 (motorized 'shark fin' camera), and the Neonode N1 (absolutely tiny using LED photoreceptors for its 'touch screen' which was pioneering at the time))

It is. Didn't know you were in another country but I think it goes by a different name hence the confusion. But yeah I'm enjoying it but I'm not a person that needs the best of the best. I finally upgraded my phone after 4 years so anything was better than what I had before lol.
My phone is 4 years old as well this month (13 Pro), an this is tempting because folded it is much smaller than a regular phone, you can put this in your pocket actually.

Apples UI is a complete and utter disaster. I'm on iPhone 17 Pro Max and I hate it. The updates made it so much more cumbersome to use.

The photos app hides the controls
Swiping up for home never works the first time
Swiping down rarely works the first time
Three places to swipe down from depending on what action you want to take
Contacts app was ravaged and now sucks
Messages now hides spam in a different menu
Sometimes I get authentication messages and they're in neither, main messages, spam, or deleted
The back buttons can be at the top, side, or a swipe.
I have to constantly go to the top and bottom of my phone for navigation

The side buttons are in inconvenient locations and get pressed constantly
The new button above volume constantly gets pressed when I try to turn my volume up.

I'm kind of over apple. They had a great phone and they ruined it.

I had two foldables. The screen is good for three things. Reading books, reading the internet, and playing the occasional game. Watching videos on the thing is disappointing due to the aspect ration not actually giving much larger video. Frankly the downsides didn't really make it worth it to me.
