Resident Evil Requiem --- Open Spoilers Discussion ---

What's the story with the dead guy on the floor where Emely stays. Did the stalker kill him? Is there any backstory on who this guy is?
That asshole had it coming. He was part of the whole experiment on these children, including Emily of course.

The Stalker is Marie, she was deemed a failure and was about to get disposed, but managed to escape while in the process of mutating/gaining unhuman strength like the children in the orphanage. That's why the hole in her cell is small.
After she fully mutated, she still could remember who these people were, including Emily. Which is why Marie just put Emily in her cell instead of killing her, unlike this piece of shit.

These morons tried to hunt her down in the basement, where you encounter her with all these power plugs.

Also she wouldn't have taken Emily down there, if she stayed in her cell, but after grace getting her out, Marie or her subconscious wanted her back.

The boss fights in general were probably the most disappointing to me honestly.
Especially Mr X and Victor they felt as if they were kinda just standing there not doing anything.
Bosses in this game suffer from DD2 syndrome. They do a thing. Then wait 6 seconds before their next input. DD2 does it, Wilds does it, Requiem does it. Somehow Enemy AI for large monsters is just very bad for no reason. They never really keep up the pressure.

And a large amount usually end with a PRESS A for AWESOME finisher.

You could arguably make the bosses better(?) if you added a typical add phase and spawn in mobs to harass you.

But the boss design in this game is just garbage.

You have fake bosses like Chunk(easy to kite, stuck in hallways or dead to QTE), Chainsaw Guys(Tougher mob but you just Parry or Chainsaw clash), Blisterborne(which is a less interesting Regenerator that doesn't regenerate).

Marie is just annoying obstacle.

The real bosses are Titanspinner where it initially chases you but then you chase it to shoot the Yellow thing on it's butt. It's funny in hindsight.

Mr.X is shoot heart and Parry and QTE.

Plant 43 is shoot it and move left or right. Repeat until you can shoot very conveniently placed fuel tanks.

Hunk is Parry the Game. Parry attacks and counter until it's over.

Last boss is a 2 parter where any attack that isn't a MMO style ground AoE can be parried...even Rockets.

Phase 2 is a slightly more engaging Plant 43. With the exception is you move left and right sometimes and just parry impossibly huge a Hatchet ain't stopping these arms and shoot anything that glows. And then you do a QTE.

It's not as engaging as say Norman from Revelations 1. Nor are we approaching the speed of RE3 OG Nemesis.

Once and for all, is Leon married? And to whom?
The game art you can view has both Leon and Sherry wearing a ring that looks very similar to each other. He may not actually be married. The ring could mean something else. If he is married it's probably to a random npc. Dude was on the verge of death and his supposed wife was nowhere to be seen.....

Finished a few hours ago... honestly this kinda feels like the most 8.5/10 game ever. Multiple sequences in the first four hours that can hang with the best of the franchise, looks amazing, mostly enjoyed Leon in RC too in its own way but everything ARK I'm not so sure on and that ending and how the choice is implemented just felt rushed and goofy. The second half and some of the mini-bosses felt way too easy compared to 4 Remake and Village, the sense of danger just kinda dissipated. As a complete package this ends up more on par with Village for me than I would've expected early on.

Yeah, even the encounter with Hunk - I hope that wasn't supposed to be a mini boss because he died almost as quick as the regular guys. The bosses really suck this game generally.

I am not a fan of wasting bullets on them too, on replay it's fine I guess because I know when they can take damage.
But on first playthrough you end up shooting and wasting bullets when the game has decided that they can't take damage yet.

I actually even tried this with cheats just to see, against the spider boss for instance I used unlimited ammo no reload and just gunned away at it for like 5+ minutes probably it feels like the game has a timer where it wants you to fight the boss for a certain time and will buff its health if it's taking too much damage.
I am not entirely sure but it feels like it's true the other way around too where if you just run around for long enough without shooting it's health goes down really low to compensate.
There's something very janky going on.

He is married to his ex from back then. They came together, after she finally "discovered" herself.

Yeah, looking at that list and it reminds me of another gripe...the fact that Grace didn't get a single boss fight. Just the stalker sequences with Marie. Then again, they also didn't give her a single weapon other than an extra pistol and some limited access to Requiem.

Current theory is he's married to Sherry as awful as that is.
Leon and Sherry almost like brother and sister relationship. In Re2 she is just 12 years old. Team Claire and Team Ada beg to differ :messenger_beaming:

Hopefully in the upcoming DLC expansion of Re9, along with my hope they add psvr 2 support, I hope they explain more about Leon's past and relationship.

That would be kind of freaking deranged if they actually decided to have a Leon/Sherry marriage, lol. I get that they are both way older now, but like you said....he met her when she was just a young kid.

If that's the case, I hope the DLC is called The Barry Files

The concept art has a ring on his ring finger.

But if you view the models without gloves in the model viewer, there is no ring on any of his fingers.

However, in the ending, after Leon is done talking to Grace and Sherry, and is walking away, you can see him reaching back into his pocket (after he has taken his gloves off) and he animates like he's putting something on his hand.

You only get a few seconds of him walking away after that and if you squint, it does look like something is shining on his ring finger afterward. This is a very deliberate animation and feels like Capcom added it to stoke debate.

Now ... the matter of "who" is entirely up to debate. The fandom would want to believe it's Ada but who can say.

There's no current theory like that other than deranged online shippers.

Sherry isn't wearing the ring on her ring finger
Oh I see. You are right. More like she is in a relationship thing.

Haha, I actually want too see Ada or Claire appearance in the upcoming DLC. A cringy fighting of the two about Leon 🤣

So she turned out to be Mrs Ada Wight

Now that Leon is confirmed straight, game journos can stop focusing on thirsting for daddy Leon.

Then they might suddenly realize that a high number of the zombies in RE9 are black, and they can go back to their real job of trying to recreate the RE5 non-troversy they started

I thought maybe the ring was on her pinky because the T virus was affecting her other fingers. The game made it very obvious they both have rings. But it would be crazy to have them married knowing their history. Could be one of those rings that has GPS and what not.

1.5 hours just getting to the basement.. how am I so slow. Trying to hit the sub 4. Racing through Care Center on Leon this time around felt awesome, axing everything in sight and a lot more left this time because I barely killed anything with Grace.

Loved the RC sections but it just made me long for another outbreak/game set during the fall of Racoon City which is the most interesting timeline

In RC East during gate detonator mission you can save tons of time as compared to playing the game organically just by sprinting past enemies towards objectives

Leon takes his ring off during excursions like a salesman at an industry conference. Makes me think he's not married to Ada but figures he's going to run into her and doesn't want to hurt his chances lol

Jk, our boy loyal

We already know who it is (and happy for Ada Wong-Kennedy)

Whoever it is, she didn't even bother to call once to check on her dying husband. So... Ada confirmed!

Finally beat it!

For me this was a lot longer than expected, and in a good way.
Loved it from beginning to end!

Man, I already want more! Whether it be DLC, Mercenaries or a new title. I'm getting ahead of myself. Damn that was good!

I loved the first half of Re7 but hated the other half. It's a shame because I like to replay it from time to time but I always lose interest when I reach certain point in the story
No arguments from me, but the DLC is where 7 is head and shoulders above other RE DLC's.
The story feels more fleshed out and less tacked on, and it turns out the Bakers were warm and kind people.

But man, especially Chris' and Joe's DLCs. End of Zoe was freaking awesome!

Dang it, 121 seconds too slow. I'm going to have to reload something 20 or 30 minutes back or so and just call some time by being a little bit more efficient. I was way too slow in the first half of the game but dramatically picked up my speed to compensate later but it just wasn't enough. I know I can shave off about 30 seconds in the final boss fight but I'll have to pick a couple minutes up elsewhere.

On the upside, I did get the no healing item and no blood collector challenge reward, can I apply that to my current playthrough? If so it would be trivial to just load up a slightly earlier save and blow through with the most powerful weapon, saving some time in some cases and getting those couple minutes I need.

I love how they give you an extra blood collector in the arc if you didn't take it earlier, tricky fellows trying to get me to succumb to Temptation and ruin my challenge run.

Just finished it. Fan since the beginning. I dunno... wasn't blown away. Strongest part is certainly the opening section with Grace. After the game is quite uneven. The plot.... well, it seemed the me Capcom was desperately trying to wrap up the mess RE6 left behind. I guess they did their best. I hope that now that they are unshackled, they can steer the plot into a bit more interesting path again. Enough of this world bio terrorism shit. These epic settings do not suit the series at all.

I finished this game last night

Are Leon and Sherry married?

I don't mind the ship but I am more of a Leon/Claire and Leon/Ashley shipper

It would be funny since a certain group on X have been freaking out about Leon and Sherry both wearing rings on their fingers

I kind of want it to happen due to those types being super insufferable and annoying about it too

As for the game itself, I really liked the gameplay but the sneaking segments were a pain. It was funny how much a badass Leon was in comparison to Grace but I'm pretty sure that was intentional

With Grace sections, I really liked how the unkillable enemies looked with a return of the creepy ass baby but much more grown up. Or it might have been a varient

The story itself was interesting but Grace got on my nerves whenever she freaked out. She grew on me slowly but that part of her personality didn't

Grace herself being a clone was an interesting twists and I really liked how I went to a destroyed Raccoon City. It felt like I was playing a post apocalptic game during that section. I especially enjoyed going back to the police station but this time it's in ruins due to the nukes

I really liked the story

I'm curious what the two DLC will cover. I would find it funny if they didn't answer who Leon is married to due to the fanbase reaction

I hope we get confirmation on who Leon married but it would be funny to me

I really enjoyed the game but when it comes to the games in general, I prefer Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil Remake to the full 3D games. I still enjoyed the action focused ones but I find the olders games to be my own preference in regards to gameplay

Boom.. bought the infinite ammo and the RPG for Leon with the points I received for getting the two other achievements, then one hit Victor and shaved another minute or two off elsewhere and now I got it. 🔥

I loved Grace's first half so much, I could play the entire game as her.
I wonder if the game would still sell heaps, even without Leon.

Think this game is like a 7/10 btw. Middle portion of the game brings it right down, everything up to Emily getting lit up is a 9, Ark is like a 7 but RC is straight up 5/10 material.

If there was some good enemy variety and better level structure the environment visually wouldn't bother me.

Crazy thing is, Raccoon City was the strongest selling point which ended up its weakest.

Only need now :
Beat insanity
Racoon toys (plan to reload in a few key spots to clean up the ones I missed, mostly in Racoon City)
Collect blood 5k ( on this one I can just reload my end game save with Grace and use the transfusion bags and get like 300 per load, so I'll have that in just a couple minutes)
And then just a couple small ones that can be done pretty easily I think unless I miss something on memory.

Oh and Final Puzzle. That I have a safe at the room that drops them into the pool on casual, just have to spend the 15 minutes and plow through the rest of the game. Might just mix the raccoons with this one.

Not sure if I'm going to do the insanity one or not but by then I'll have everything unlocked pretty much, we'll see how I feel. Trophies and achievements don't really mean anything to me.

Pretty sure that Evil always had a name Live Action short they did with the mom and the girl you can't find her grave site either.

Not really sure why they thought cruising through the Highway to skip Raccoon City in it's entirety was a good idea. Much less just recreating the City from the Alice films.

Raccoon City had a lot of potential but they really gutted the crap out of it.
