Monitoring the situation in Iran

Probably some chemical stock or something

One does not simply leave the ME
(or why there may be SOF on the ground and how hard it will be if it comes to that.)

For those that are saying that they are doing that for the last 47 years)
By its last firm estimate, as of June 2025, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) assessed that Iran had just over 972 pounds (just under 441 kilograms) of uranium enriched to 60 percent purity. This stockpile has long been a proliferation concern and evidence of Iranian authorities maintaining the option of rapidly pursuing a nuclear weapon even in the absence of an active development program.
It is understood to be a relatively quick process, in technical terms, to get uranium from 60 percent to 90 percent purity, at which point it is considered highly enriched or weapons-grade. Per the IAEA, 92.5 pounds of 60 percent uranium is sufficient to be enriched into enough 90 percent material for one nuclear bomb. Using this metric, Iran's declared stockpile of enriched uranium is enough for at least 10 bombs.
Iran's underground nuclear site at Isfahan has long been understood to be the primary storehouse for its stockpile of enriched uranium. That facility was among those targeted in U.S. strikes last June, dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer. Though access to any uranium there was subsequently curtailed, the U.S. Intelligence Community has more recently assessed that Iranian authorities have regained entry, at least to a degree, according to a report from The New York Times over the weekend. As an aside, in the weeks leading up to the current conflict, satellite imagery showed Iran taking steps to seal off Isfahan, as well as other key facilities, which would help hamper any potential ground raids. TWZ highlighted similar activity at Iranian nuclear sites ahead of Operation Midnight Hammer.

Hopefully their ability to retaliate is minimal by the time he's out there, if he deploys.

Man of action.

Sidequest status update

Disarmament and expulsion of Hezbollah would finally excise the cancer which has been killing the people of Lebanon for decades and give that nation a chance for the first time in living memory

Yeah he is definitely going as this was already planned beforehand, he just got the shitend of the stick on timing 🤷‍♂️
He leaves in April for either Qatar ,Kuwait or UAE .
So bursting with pride from it though luckily I raised up 3 strong lads with good hearts and intentions...and have kicked my arse on videogames for almost 20 years lol

My prayers are with you, your son and your family. Nothing a random on GAF says can help with the fear and anxiety, and I don't expect it to, but please know, sincerely, I am praying for you all. Thankful for the brave men and women who fight to defend the free world. Thank you.

Best to you all in what is no doubt a stressful time.

And he's now already putting it on other people, removing all blame and responsibility from himself.

Interesting article for sure. One thing is that if they were considering this I wish they had better fucking security. I wonder if they are considering an even bigger operation with the 82nd. If the IRGC comes out to challenge they would get exposed for slaughter.

CNN did a correlated piece explaining almost the same.

Including, as you said, the necessity to deploy the 75th Rangers or the 82nd Airborne Division as a support/perimeter security unit to the SOF/specialist.
