Wasn't it patched already on day 1?
Was it? I have no idea. Does anyone have the day one patch already? Game doesn't unlock for a few more hours I think
Can't find the link but some dude on reddit was claiming that it was already patched, had a ton of inventory slots and allegedly the devs will patch-in a stash.

Crazy that the game shipped without that feature but I guess they were more focused on all the other myriad of things the damn game seems to have.

Damn, it would've been helpful to have that for the reviewers.

It is as slop as the encyclopedia definition goes. You've lost the plot if you had to stop in a CD reviews thread to defend it, homie.

I saw in reddit or X don't remember. They added 200+ inventory slots and the items stack up? They also added stash storage.

But that is just the haters, not the hobby itself. Just ignore them.

Nah dog. You've lost the plot homie.

This is just you cherry picking then because you got a hard on for this game.

Marathon is far from slop, nor is it trying to nickel and dime you.
GaaS is absolutely a nick and dime. That is the whole fucking point.

The industry is massively trying to capture players for that. (Im not saying Marathon isn't good. Maybe it is. Don't know. Not my type of game). This is a far cry from games I grew up playing and loving.

That's fair. I would say compared to other games within its genre for extraction or other GaaS it is nowhere near as bad as something like league of legends skin costs, but it doesn't give away as much free stuff as say arc raiders has up to now.

It's closer to arc to be a consumer friendly and investment in how much free stuff you can unlock, and the paid skins are 80% dog shit so you likely won't spend money hahahaha.

For me, anything below an 8.5 is strictly 'wait for a sale' territory. With Crimson Desert sitting at a 78, I have no reason to burn $70 on day-one game which will have issues when my backlog is already massive. I'll pick it up when it's patched and on sale.

the worst offender still critical hits that rated at 4.5/10 only .5 above Minds Eye.

Its a Brazilian outlet that i never heard about it :messenger_tears_of_joy:

They also gave it a 8.5 to DAV praising the combat, story and sidequest....

I don't know why some people get their panties in a twist because some of us are/were excited about a new game coming out, truly baffles me. If this game ended up a masterpiece for the masses it doesn't lessen whatever game that you love. It just means there is another awesome game to play.

As for me, I got a couple busy weeks coming up so Its an easy decision for me to wait a bit. I think I will love this game and will love it even more when it gets patched up a bit. Or maybe I'm coping:)

I don't fully agree with 'every journalist = bad' since groups like Giantbomb existed back then, however there were others who can corroborate what Luke Stephens witnessed.

I think the issue here is that everyone is playing a game of 'everyone or no one' when it comes to information.

Sure but like I posted earlier, that Luke dude was impressed by what he played of Dragons Age Veilguard too. I know he later retracted that and said the game was mid in the end but still.

You just gotta listen to who you trust but its a bit weird to say reviewers dont like tough games or anything when the souls games, elden ring, Sekiro cuphead etc all have very high scores

Sounds like 'impressions hours in' vs 'full review'. You will see the same thing happen with this game, whether positive or negative.

With a narrative game like Dragon Age it's very easy for writing to suddenly drop off of a cliff and that 8/10 becomes a 6/10 or whatever score they deem it should be lowered to.

Remember how fans felt with the last 5% of Mass Effect 3, even though 95% of that game is incredible.

I trust evidence and footage. When certain evidence points to some reviewers missing entire features or systems in order to rush out a review on time, that specific review should be put within it's own bracket because it's clear they rushed through the game.

Like I said before in this thread, it becomes a review where I'm not certain who it's for, because barely anyone outside of media ever plays games to meet a deadline.

I don't know how often you or anyone here has rushed through any open world game with levels/perks, but it is a laborious, aggravating experience, especially if you are underleveled in any way.

They are essentially doing what a speedrunner would do, but without the knowledge, without the skillset, and without the love for the speedrun itself.

Unless i misunderstood what you are saying, Shadow of mordor enemies were tough because they had this bullshit system where they learn your moves and you cant use it anymore, quintessential definition of artificial challenge, you end up with some enemies where you can't use 8\10 of your arsenal, that is not challenge that feel good to fight against.

When you didn't had those limits the combat is super easy and mindless, i never in my life thought about these games as some combat pinnacle, i mean they use batman freeflow ffs...

I do fucking hate that apparently trash mobs in crimson are easy to beat, the challenge should not only come from bosses, trash enemies is what you fight for 98% of the time, so this is a big problem for me, if true.
I hope we don't have another dogma 2 in our hands...
In regards to Shadow of Mordor specifically the game IMO is very easy but the sound design and weight of the combat I really liked. But that's a more a aesthetic thing. I think the Arkham games just have a simple to learn hard to master system that you use tools or mechanics and combat is really secondary and boils down to hit button that lights up.

The Nemesis system locking you out of attacks or skills always felt cheap to me. It's Artificial Difficulty.

Thus far my pinnacle of good combat to this day is still Blade of Darkness. If I had to choose a modern game it's probably First Berserker Khazan.

Game's highlights is more geared towards bosses given the available boss footage.

We shall know soon enough.
