240k is prolly the peak. This game will filter people hard. The middling reviews aren't helping. It's also sitting at mixed on Steam and a common complaint (as expected) are controls and how heavy Kliff feels.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was the peak and it's downhill from here.

Idc anyway, I'll be enjoying this for the coming weeks, but this is a game that will not click for everyone.

Death Stranding 2 on the other had seems to be great. Will play this during the summer when I'm done with CD.
Still waiting to see the Asia peak tomorrow morning. That will be the true test.

It will go up but this is already a great number for a SP game on Steam. You would be surprised how many dont even hit 100k peak, yet still sell in the millions sometimes.
The super high ones like Cyberpunk, Eldern ring, BG3, and even Hogwarts, they dont happen as often as people think on here.

Yep. Still, I wasn't expecting it to be already down 45k since peak. Many Other games in the top 50 were still gaining players in last couple hours.

I mean i have just come off because its past 2am in the UK, and even later in the rest of Europe.

True. But it's 10pm in eastern U.S. and 7pm on west coast. Other games were gaining some or stabilizing as NA was entering peak times even though Europe peak had passed. Regardless, the true test will be Asia.

I think because of the stuipid release time, there was probably a ton of people in Europe that had a quick go before going to bed to be honest.

Yeah I predicted around 250k-300k. Still great numbers.

Plan on getting it tomorrow.

Stuff like this in the marathon thread = get laughed into next week for daring to say.

Saying CD - oh yeah sure ok.

I'm of the mind no excuses no creating narratives. The numbers are what they are.

You think slay the spire 2 didn't have things going against it or different Time zones going to sleep/waking up?

It is what it is.

Hey i have been on Steam since Half Life 2, i already know a 240k CCU for a SP game on Steam is massive, and i'm more than happy with that.

I think what i said is a fair thing due to the release time, and how long the game took to unpack or to download after release time. Its a hyped game so obviously there would of been a lot of people who wanted a quick go before going to bed.

Your point would of had more merit if the game had released at 6pm UK time, like the vast majority of games do here in Europe, and then had a sizeable drop off at like 8pm or 9pm..

I agree that 240k CCU is fantastic! Should keep the devs around for more projects in the future.

I however have seen this website dismiss valid reasoning for various titles for CCUs they see, and I'm over trying to be sensible about it.

Now? The numbers are what they are. Taken at face value no narratives.

I missed the part where Marathon did 240K opening? If he had achieved that number most people, myself included, would have had nothing to say. Don't try to spin this as the same as Marathon nor a victim complex.

CD already did 3 times the peak of Bungie latest big release and it will break this peak again this weekend.

Valid like saying averaging 50K is some king of achievement while gaslighting everyone who disagree? Right...
Btw you've been sensible about it just by posting these messages.

Holy shit the fanboy attitude for this game will never stop even there you need to bring it up. Anyway I'm done with this shit and the people surrounding this terrible game.

240K is better than I expected for a Thursday. I wonder if it can hit 300K this weekend? Curious how this doing on PS5? I bought it for Pro, and will double-dip later if it's good.

Interested to see weekend numbers. 240k is good CCU and I'm not going to pretend it's not, but I'm more curious if it hits around the same or higher this weekend. If it can't break 200k this weekend I'd assume a fair amount of refunds.

240K is much lower than I expected, but then again the game is actually also worse than I expected (I didn't think sidequests and story would be great, but they are apparently even worse).

But it will probably go up on sunday, maybe it will still get to 300K? Maybe 400 if word of mouth is good but looking at the steam reviews, even that is doubtful.

Definitely not the next Wukong though. I guess Chinese are not that into it.
