I agree and I always feel any leader above 60 should really go.Yeah, I know how dementia looks like (from my own grandmother, RIP). Trump does not have it, but it still doesn't change the fact that age fucks up our brains, and person that is 79 years old is nowhere close to having the same clarity of mind compared to (for example) 50 or 60 years old person (or himself from the past).
This new trend of senile Presidential candidates is pretty stupid.
I think 60 would be taking away some of the best candidates. Experience and wisdom do come with age. But I would still support both age limits and term limits no question about it.I agree and I always feel any leader above 60 should really go.
I would be on board with the "you can only serve 12 years in govt" rule as well.
Politics is full of old corrupt monsters that have been riding the system for years.
International law:
Nah, his decline is accelerating now.
There's zero chance he sees out his term imo.
Either they have to confiscate his phone and stop him from making any public engagements and effectively confirm that he is being kept prisoner in a sort of asylum, Or you are going to end up with a president who doesn't feel like getting dressed and will do press conferences in his pyjamas, declare war on any country that he doesn't like the look of and tweet (more) videos of women being murdered in the street.
It is so over, the guy has dementia. It will not get better, only worse. Everyone knows it and that's why everyone - from his wife to his supporters - are getting their positions arranged before action is taken.
Edit: laugh it up if you like, but this war has put the President's competence under intense public scrutiny. I think there's a good chance that the only administration that gets toppled by this war is the Trump-led one.
It was clear in 2020 just from watching tv that the man was mentally on the downslope, yet hundreds of people worked with or near him for years after that and didnt say a word.oooooh you mean near the end, and in hindsight... yeah, the entire democratic party all agreed eventually when he was buffooning around on stage for live debates and it was so painfully obvious that there was an issue.
You forget the years leading up to it where many people were criticising it and the whitehouse kept releasing statements that he is "Sharp" and "mentally fit".
As someone who watched dementia slowly kill his own grandmother, I can tell you he absolutely does not have dementia, the guy is taking questions and talking daily to the press.
The people here claiming this have no clue what they are talking about.
Dementia is ugly, the days of Biden suddenly going silent and wandering off were clear signs and it actually made me sad for him because I had watched the same thing happen to my gran .
What i didnt see however was her speaking to public crowds and answering questions and travelling the world and playing golf, holding meetings and so on.
The dementia argument is genuinely a stupid one and anyone whose had to sit and watch a loved one wither away while not remembering who they are would absolutely know that, the only things you could maybe say is sundowning and thats when trump is making tweets but literally no one besides his wife could tell us if that is actually happening.
The big "evidence" from retards is that he made a silly tweet... hes been doing that since before his first term. He use to call leaders Kim Jong un the little rocket man and would say he didnt have the guts... like this isnt new behavior from Trump at all.
I mean he's taking mental cognitive decline tests very often (and brags about them), so even his entourage is worryingNot that I care much for being 'insulted', but people claiming Trump has dementia is insulting to people with dementia and their loved ones.
I don't know if Trump has any dementia or not but he is 79! Person this old shouldn't be making world changing decisions...
Trump and Biden are the oldest US Presidents in history.

US Arleigh Burkes have very powerfully transited the strait to begin the process of clearing a shipping lane.
Urgent | Secretary of the Iranian Government Media Council: Technical teams exchanged texts and agreed to continue another round of negotiations.
Urgent | Secretary of the Iranian Government Media Council: The next phase of negotiations is likely to be held tonight or tomorrow morning
I'm sorry you think opinions that are oppositional to your own are 'nonsense' but I'm posting things i think are interesting and often directly contradict opinions in this thread that i think are quite frankly insaneAgain, you don't have to put here every nonsense stuff you see on your twitter feed
Fine for you I guess if it appeals you, but you've been called several times to stop doing it for the sake of the thread
Looks like the negotiations are going well.
Iran's frozen assets released and US ships are formally starting mine clearing operations.
Instructions to Israeli military to reduce attacks in Lebanon, especially Beirut.
He'll see out this term just like old Joe. Joe had cognitive decline and the Dems did nothing. DJT has been making questionable decisions such as straining the NATO and Asia-Pacific alliances that has been established since the end of WW2 along with this unpopular war being waged, and the Republicans aren't doing anything. It's a hyper-partisan era. That's just how politics roll.
Wasn't the unfreezing of assets already been debunked
And Iran (the source) said this a while ago and the US denied it.I don't know or how long ago that was, this is news coming today from ~2 hours ago.

Is there a source that isnt Iran?
The al Jazeera source is iran and this isnt new information, just search iran asset unfreeze and youll see multiple conflicting reportsI don't see any other source other than Al-Jazeera doing anything close to 'live' reporting on this.
This is all they have on the matter right now. We're probably not gonna find out more until the talks are completed to see the points agreed or not.

Are we gonna cover both sides?
the nytimes is saying that Iran is saying this, but a U.S. source is denying it. so it is unclear, but probably i would lean towards not true.If there's a different source countering it, please post it in reply to the post. I don't think we should just stop reporting what reuters, al jazeera etc are reporting because they sourced the news from someone representing Iran.
Also, I'm fairly sureBaemono is talking about posting highly partisan opinion puff tweets, but they can correct me if I'm wrong.
I mean do you only have access to al Jazeera where you live?If there's a different source countering it, please post it in reply to the post. I don't think we should just stop reporting what reuters, al jazeera etc are reporting because they sourced the news from someone representing Iran.

Iranian source says US has agreed to unfreeze Iranian funds, Washington denies it
A senior Iranian source said on Saturday the US had agreed to release Iranian frozen assets held in Qatar and other foreign banks, but a US official swiftly denied the assertion.www.timeslive.co.za
2 seconds of googling. Reuters are saying the same, israel is saying their US source says its not true and a US official says its not true.
What you posted is about as equal as a Twitter post considering there isnt anything backing up either account
I mean... It's fine to share it like that, but you stated it as fact originally, and it isn't.I'm mostly just checking The Guardian, they have a good 'live update' page that updates now and then. For this specific news, different sources are saying differently at the moment, we'll probably find out in a day or two cause the talks are still ongoing and will probably continue over the weekend.
The NY Times also has a good and frequently updating page as new info comes out:
Anyway, a couple of more updates.
Sounds like they're done with in-person talks for the day and will continue over night Pakistan time.

I think Trump's behaviour is so much more erratic and aggressive than anything we saw with Biden. That'll require a different approach.
Time will tell, but I don't think Trump has a chance in hell of completing his term, unless he is completely invisible, including social media posts. I don't think that's compatible with the role of President, but as I said, time will tell.
Saw oil went up to $104 a barrel, this needs to come to an end one way or another
Thanks, this thread is where I hover for updates. Hopefully it will remain cleaner and easier to get/read the updates on whats happening.Thread is not for arguing Orange Man Bad vs Orange Man Good. Separate your emotions from the office of the presidency if you'd like to participate, and avoid general politics sky is falling freakouts and soapboxing.
We can try this again. Thread is about the situation in Iran.
The issue appears to go back to their Nuclear Enrichment program.Reading between the lines of what both the US and Iranians said after the failed round 1 of talks, I actually anticipate a 2nd round of talks and a breakthrough of some kind shortly.
There are 90 year olds that are still very very sharp(Thomas Sowell, Ron Paul, G Edward Griffin) but they would be better fit as advisors, not president.I think 60 would be taking away some of the best candidates. Experience and wisdom do come with age. But I would still support both age limits and term limits no question about it.
I'm pretty sure EviLore's warning included to not quote stuff from before the thread was closed (and leading to its very closing)There are 90 year olds that are still very very sharp(Thomas Sowell, Ron Paul, G Edward Griffin) but they would be better fit as advisors, not president.
Its something of a case by case basis.. My Grand mother who is 102 was still sharp as a whistle at 99, but she had not kept up with the world. There are 90 year olds that are still very very sharp(Thomas Sowell, Ron Paul, G Edward Griffin) but they would be better fit as advisors, not president.
We blew up their whole military and they were basically using the threat of sporadic drone strikes and hypothetical mines no one can find to try and stop traffic![]()
Not a bad strategy tbh
