Halo 4 Master Chief new design revealed (Toy)

Master Chief doesn't look comfortable. Like he had to borrow the shoulder armor of someone a foot shorter than him. And the chest armor of someone 50kg heavier.

The helmet looks badass, but the proportions look off on some of the pieces of armor. I bet the in-game model will look a lot better.

May be old (sorry if it is) but came across the Halo 4 prototype for Master Chief. What do you guys think?

made by the same company last year.

Has 343i said anything about how he got into the armor? At the very least did they say it would be explained in the game?

It seems the thrusters/shoulder thing are a quirk of the toy design and the angle the photo is taken at.

Because we've all seen the trailer, so we already know what he looks like.

Could just be shit toys.

This, with the other Halo figures the shoulder pads are made separate and glued on, could be a factor on how they look.

Ugh, horrible. The E3 version was far better... and it too was pretty bad. The desing should be closer to Halo 3's Mark VI.
Hell, i already grew to like the E3 trailer version... Did they have to ruin this one...

The shoulder pads look a bit jarring the more I look at it... I wonder if that is just an issue with the toy and its articulation. Not bad armor at all, but its still a little off IMO.

The new one has subtle differences that make it worse. Maybe it is due to the action figure, maybe not but it looks different and worse.

Im gonna take a guess and guess its due to being a toy. I always found the Halo 3 MC toy to look really off and awkward, so I think its a side effect of scale/articulation. I really like some of the changes, but I do wish they tried to take a new direction that still said MC.

Not really liking the collar / shoulder design that much. Makes me think too much of the Cog armour from GOW. Halo3 version is still the best one IMO.

The E3 trailer desing doesn't need much to be closer to classic Mjolnir. More groin armor, adjusted helmet, adjusted shoulder pads. IMO.

I'd like it if it just had the space diaper back. I just don't like him going from having a codpiece to not having one. It just looks wrong.

They've already given an explanation in the Glasslands novel. Frank suggested that there will be more explanation coming but that it was too "spoiler-y" to say at the time.

I've read Glasslands and I don't remember any of that...

Btw, Using thrusters in space confirmed?

I really don't care for halo novels any more, so please tell me (spoiler-tagged appropriately, obviously)

MJOLNIR upgrades itself during cryosleep through nanotech.

Given that 343 has stated that all side story bits tie into the mainline story, this seems to be the easiest explanation. There's supposedly more to the explanation, but that's what was there.
