Don't worry, we have the offseason to look forward too when Holland takes all of this cap space we have and applies it to big free agents..... ah who am I kidding, we'll resign all our current players and sign some 8th defenseman, hate this team sometimes, we badly needed a 3rd or 4th line center, but nope, nothing. :(

You guys are so fucking pessimistic. Nashville?? And San Jose is a mess of a team at the moment. Red Wings and Vancouver are the clear favorites to win the West and adding Quincey was a good deadline deal for Detroit.
 
I'm perfectly fine with the Pens doing nothing, I didn't expect them to. All I really want is for them to resign Staal at a decent cap hit before next season.
 
preds 1st for a 3rd/4th line UFA? i wanted gaustad, but that deal makes the quincey deal look a whole lot better.

wings needed a shooter and didn't get one. sigh.

We'll see come playoff time, I do know that right now our 4th line as it is with Emmerton, Mursak, and Homer is just plain terrible, now our 3rd line, yeah they are amazing. Sooner or later we will need a change here though.

It will be hilarious if Gaustad resigns with Buffalo in the offseason. Rumor was that's exactly what was discussed with Regier when the demand for Gaustad ramped up.

First rounder for Gaustad is amazing.

Not sure what the hell Buffalo is gonna do for centermen the rest of the season though. Gaustad was playing some pretty important minutes of late against most teams top lines.

TSN says Gaustad + 5th, not 4th. Edit: the changed it to 4th.

What a fucking awful TD, wtf was PG doing? I literally wouldn't have given a shit if he gave campoli away for free, fuck this shit. At least I didn't wake up to Subban or Emelin traded. Good for the Preds, I'm excited to watch them in the playoffs.

I like the Quincey deal and the wings beat writer thinks they're going all in on Parise in the offseason.

I still don't like their chances this offseason. The top 6 disappears at the same time for weeks. All it takes is one 4-game stretch in the playoffs for that to happen and they're done.

What do you want us to give him up for? Plenty of people ask about JVR. If so many people want him we're not gonna just give him up, especially when we're perfectly happy with him on our team with a decent contract for the next few years.

I agree that Couture is better right now, but to be honest I'd be kind of meh on that trade anyway. Couture wouldn't bring much to our team anyway. O and fuck Niemi.

No way he's replacing Hodgson, our centers are set in stone when healthy. If he can play wing it'll be as a Weise replacement and depth if/when people get injured... They should just do what they did with Bitz and let him play with the Sedins in his first game to make him feel good.

Still wishing we'd have gone for a D :(

Eh, don't worry. It's definitely disappointing that they've collapsed like this, but Burke did the right thing and didn't blow up the farm for a short-term fix. This is still an exceptionally young team and will only get better in the years to come, regardless of a playoff appearance.

And here comes Burke.

If any team was going to be a seller and start a rebuild, it's the Habs. Instead, all they get is a 2nd and a 5th. Great GM you guys have there.

I agree. I was on here the whole time saying we wouldn't make a single move.

Just a part of me is thinking that "geez this young team was probably scared of being traded that's why they played so bad, tomorrow night they will go off on a win streak"

The bright side is Darche and Campoli are only signed to one year deals, Gomez has to be buried next year and no one is going to take Kaberle regardless. So we can still manage to trim most of the fat in the summer, but it would have been nice to get something for them now. Too bad Moen was injured. We don't need a rebuild, just a retool.

Not disappointed with the lack of moves, but Grabovski better be signed asap. If he signs with another team, Burke really fucked up.
