No, I was bothered with stuff before that (like Chopper). I took a break, started up again because Water 7 was supposed to be incredible, then the giraffes and hippos and nakama cry powerups happened. It's just goofy as fuck. Not saying it's bad, as I wouldn't have watched several hundred episodes if it was*, but it's not anywhere near as great as people (mostly in the manga thread) would suggest. It's the kind of thing I'd love to watch along with my son, if I had one. But as for objectivity? It's OK.

It being in the OP started as a joke playing off of that whole debate in the last thread, really, but the show is genuinely great and it being in the OP has naturally sparked discussion on it. I was replying, but also have no real issues with not discussing it in here, as much as I find the line kind of arbitrary. I also figured the talk on it would basically cease once the season kicked into gear, but didn't at all think that there would be an actual uproar before that happened.

If we're taking votes on it, I vote no. Its not really an arbitrary line at all considering that Anime as it is accepted in English refers to Japanese animation broadcast in Japan.
