Max Payne 3 PC Features Detailed.

My preload is blazing through. Already downloaded almost 3 gigs and I have six and a half hours to go according to Steam.

Hopefully it stays downloading at that clip.

At this pace it would be faster to just get the leaked version and drop those files into the steam folder.

Last Rockstar title I buy off Steam.

Is Max Payne fully integrated with Steam? As in we'll be able to "Quick Join" with people on our friend list, etc.

Does anyone know?

Only steamworks stuff it will use are achievements and game updating. All the other features like cloud saves and quick joins aren't available. It will be done through social club.

Here we gooo!

Wait what the fudge, since when do I have LA Noire?! Is it playable for free today or something?

That sucks, from what I hear on consoles the Rockstar Social thing is not bad... I guess, oh well.

Would've loved full Steamworks support on this.

1.8 Mb/s here, which is pretty standard fare here in Hawaii as our internet speeds suck. But according to the timer put the D/L at about 4 1/2 hours. So not bad at all. I guess i'm lucky I had the day off and the sense to look early and see if the pre-load began.

One free internets to the first two gaffers who can confirm fully skippable cut-scenes in the PC version. That is all that is staying my hand.

Uhm...pff maybe I don't know much about these practices these days. I guess using a non verified exe could get you banned maybe.

I don't think so, multiplayer usually detects piracy because there are multiple, identical ID's of the game online at the same time.

Anyone know if the retail version needs the disc in the drive to play? If so, I'll just grab the Steam version.

You could also get the retail version and enter the key in steam to download it so you don't have to use the disc and have a nice box for the shelf.

Would there be any way possible if you had access to the retail version of the game to install/copy the files over to Steam to avoid most of the downloading?

Does it unlock at midnight in the appropriate region (like when Skyrim unlocked in Korea first so everyone VPN'd there to get early access)?

They synced the release across the board, so it'll unlock for everyone at the same time. Midnight release in the US, morning release in Europe etc.

Only thing I could say is that once you install the game from the retail discs, the discs aren't needed to play the game. You can then have steam launch the .exe from the client. But there is no way that you can get the steam achievments and such. Steam would just be referencing the installed retail version.

Oh yeah....going to be working from home tomorrow. *wink*

Irritating, but then I do have work I should be getting on with for the next few days anyway! :p

I think it's great, no favoritism yay!

Plus I still have the next two weeks off so I'll have all the time in the world.

Even unlocks at 6AM for me, so a bit early but beats midnight launch.

Someone help me here. How much should I PayPal someone in the UK to cover the cost of the game + PayPal fees?

Paypal adds the fee after you have decided how much to send. You can just set it to 29.99 British Pounds and it will add about 1.3 pounds for the fee.

But will the guy I'm sending to be charged for withdrawing it? I want to make sure I cover the fee myself.

Just finished MP3 on 360 the other day and now I'm downloading it for PC

Mainly for the multiplayer because I can't aim worth a damn with sticks

No, that fee is for you only (unless you untick the box that says you will pay the fee). He will get all his money.

Ah, that's different from the last time I used it. It used to just tack on a fee and take it from the amount you were sending, no?
