Sounds easier than I was hoping, I figured there would be some screws or something. Either way I'm glad it looks like it'll be easy to replace the shell if wanted.Unclipping the shells means good things for the future of replacement shells... heh heh
But seriously, I hope it isn't a big problem.
I think someone brought up the plug types before. From what I can tell there's two, Europlug and the other funky one used in a few countries:Penny pinching. In Japan, they probably (correctly) figure there is such a large mass of people with the chargers already it won't matter. In Europe I have no idea what they are doing especially with the US getting one. It's kind of baffling and I think consumer complaining is going to quickly force them into including it.
...while Nintendo appears to be shipping one 3DS XL for all of Europe (with monster multi lingual booklet seen in some unboxing videos). Still penny pinching of course, but more on the distribution side of things. If they're going to be pushing them hard anyways (they probably have to to prevent people going home with no way to charge) they might as well do bundles, the system would still be universal while adapters would still be per region. It was designed such that it can safely be used in the domestic power sockets of all European countries, except for the BS 1363 system found in Britain, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Ireland and Malta.
Haha, yep. This year is proving to be surprisingly expensive.
3DS XL and PS3 SSlim for me too. I've got a baby girl due in November which makes the decision to wait for Wii U a good 6 months or so easier, but I want a Nexus 7 as well now so..
God damn you, technology.
Well they are apparently easy to clip off (unintentionally) so maybe people will take advantage of it and make different colored shells. I hope so... I'd love to make myself an all black unit (or all white if it's easy enough)Might sound like a stupid question but I am wondering if you can get covers for the 3ds XL. I really don't like the blue or red.

Oh god, the dust on that screen is making me go crazy. I have an OCD to remove dust off my electronics, and that thing is coated in dust. *shudders*
Tried one at my local Gamestation, totally sold on it, will get one from amazon, trade the data across then trade in the 3ds for instore credit and get SMB23DS.. and if any left over for luigis mansion 2..
hope there is a CPPXL in the works as a leftie

Nope.So has Nintendo allowed us to transfer eShop game licenses from different DSes without having them both at the same time yet? Want a 3DS XL but would be trading in my 3DS if I did.
Heh, opposite here.yeah , me too
I have a blue dsi XL so this one is going to be red
Nope.
Really? Haha. While I'm happy with blue I think it's cool that you could use custom colours in the future.Well they are apparently easy to clip off (unintentionally) so maybe people will take advantage of it and make different colored shells. I feel like saying snap-on colors is the way it should be, but those Xbox plates and cell phone covers kind if say otherwise... guess that trend wasn't meant to be.Really? Haha. While I'm happy with blue I think it's cool that you could use custom colours in the future.

So it's possible when I trade in my 3DS to transfer my account, savegames and eShop stuff to my 3DS XL right there, right? I will do that in the shop and then give them my old 3DS, that'd be empty then, and then it's done.
Does it work like that?
Not sure, I think you might need an active internet connection whilst you do it, plus the whole thing would take a fair bit of time.
I think you're better off Buying the XL, doing the transfer at home and then selling you're old system through Ebay or Gumtree.com or something. You'll probably get more money back that way too.
For people wanting to import the system, don't forget the 3DS is region locked so you won't be able to play any EURO/American games on it.
Yeah that sounds like a more solid plan. I asked an EB Games (Gamestop under a different name) manager who used to work with me and she was saying that they wouldn't allow me to. I think it depends on the location but unless you have the ability to make a mobile hotspot and a very patient GS/EB Games employee I wouldn't count on them letting you.Not sure, I think you might need an active internet connection whilst you do it, plus the whole thing would take a fair bit of time.

Have't seen this posted: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/...hould-you-upgrade-to-the-larger-handheld.html
Its actually one of the better reviews and seems to understand who the system is aimed for.
Good read and seems to be the general idea we've been hearing about the system.
Any questions?
